The Lake
The lake is relatively calm, no sign of trouble or otherwise. However, the trail immediately heads into the water, to the dismay of everyone in the party. Their prey must have washed away the blood on their paws. They need to find a clue as to where they needed to go, fast, lest they lose their prey entirely.
♠ ♠ ♠
Now for the second round of our game!
I have rolled three numbers this time: 3, 4 and 18
For this round, you will be rolling a random number between 1 and 20. The goal is to match one of my three numbers above, and players can continue to keep rolling until that happens. Each person who rolls a matching number will find a clue, and they will get an extra ticket into the raffle. Once all three numbers are rolled, the party will continue to the next area.
A few notes: - After rolling, you need to wait 30 minutes before rolling again.
- Each player can only find one clue, so if you get one, you cannot keep rolling to find another.
- Once a number is matched, it cannot be rolled again for a clue. So say someone finds 4, then only 3 and 18 are left to find!
- Don't forget that your roll posts need to have rp responses in them! Length doesn't matter, but they do need something in them to count. (you can even just put a sentence or two of them wandering if you can't think of anything to say)
- A reminder to make sure you mention at the top of your post what character is actually in the round. You can rp multiple characters, but only one of them will actually be the "player" in the round.
- Like before, everyone who participates will get one ticket regardless of the outcome. The three winners will get additional tickets as well.

Player: Gold Rush Finally! Someone had found the trail! Gold Rush went with the group, following the blood. Unfortunately it led to a lake. The enemy had washed the blood and scent away in the water. This wasn’t good. Now what would they follow? They would have to search for more clues. They couldn’t let that murderer get away. Gold began searching for any evidence that another wolf had been this way recently. Surely there was something here.

Viviana liked water and she liked hunting fish in rivers, she had never really spent a lot of time around lakes so this was going to be more difficult. She frowned as she looked around with the others trying to figure out where to start looking for clues. She started going one way around the edge of the lake. She wondered if she would have to go into the lake in order to figure anything out. Not that she minded getting wet but she would prefer not to since it was starting to get colder. She continued on in her search.

It seemed that someone had found something. Beowulf pulled himself from the bushes, shaking the leaves that clung to a hindleg he followed the group. Seemed that whatever they were hunting had headed towards a lake? Stopping a moment he shook out his coat before scouting around the fringes of everyone else. Bright amber eyes scouted the ground while he looked around, before lowering his nose to the ground. Inhaling a little too strongly he coughed and hacked at the dust that tickled the inner workings of his nose and throat. That wasn't the funnest thing. Shaking his head, Beowulf tried again to sniff around for possible clues to where this mysterious thing had gone. Since the trail the rest had followed stopped at the water's edge.

Einarr was practically glued to Silke's side the entire time they tracked the trail. Now that they were on the hunt, he wouldn't dare let any enemy get to her. He'd gone on endeavors before and it was a little more routine to be out searching for adventures... though those times had been fun. He thought of the monster hunt he'd partipated in, something that had ended up with him winning a professional title. He thought of all the effort he had put in with the fishing season and the prizes and titles he'd won there. All fun and games, those encounters had been. A significantly different theme from today's hunt.
"Stay close to me, my lady." He told Silke. "I shall let no harm come to you." He was the protector, the Knight. She was the hunter, the fair maiden and object of his protections. Her charm and wit would not aid her in a fight against the beast that attacked his mother. But as dismay blurred his senses when they reached the water, he looked again to his mate. "You have always been a better hunter between the two of us. Perhaps you can locate a clue to bring us to the fiend?" He suggested. "I shall look too." And he started moving along the water, eyes peering around to see if he could track down anything-anything that might lead them to the would-be killer.

Player: Gold Rush Still she hadn’t found anything. But she continued her search. She didn’t wish to give up so easily. There had to be a clue. She sniffed the ground, her eyes scanning the area around her. She searched the water’s edge, and against the brush line. Hopefully with the help of the others they would eventually find something. ((gonna roll again as it's been 30 min I think Gold Rush is open to interaction too if anyone wants to rp xD ))

Player: Twillie Twillie heard the call when the scent was found and when she saw the trail of blood, her heart pounded in her chest as flashes of memory came back to her. Teeth, claws, dark fur, glowing eyes... but what color had they been? Pain... for a moment she was immobilized as the memory of agony overwhelmed her and the harder her heart pounded the harder it became to breathe.
Struggling to focus, she dug her claws into the ground and she turned her head, pressing it against the tree beside her, harder until she felt the bark sharp against the skin, pushing through her dense fur. The physical sensation anchored her and brought her out of her spiral. The scent of the blood sank into her and she followed the trail until she arrived the lake.
Her eyes scanned the ground, trying to find anything, any sign of activity - claw marks, paw prints, blood in the mud, fur. She was determined now, more than ever, to bring to justice the wolf who had committed this crime against the pack that she hunted with.WC:183

Vivi frowned as she continued on, still not finding anything. She huffed well even if she didn't find anything, she was sure that someone would find something right? This mystery would be solved one way or another. She was pretty sure that this pack wouldn't give up. After all one of their own had been hurt. Of course, they wouldn't just start this search and then give up just because it was hard to find the answers. She thought it was rather just. She nodded thinking to herself and continued on with her search. After all she had volunteered to join this search so she wouldn't just ditch and give up on these wolf dogs and wolves.

Einarr continued to search along the water's edge. Maybe something fell into the stream, or there would be some hint on the other side? Had the fiend washed off the blood in the water or crossed through it? Often, he would turn to gauge the responses of his patrol mates and, more importantly, Silke.
It didn't seem like anyone had found anything yet, but even if they did... He would still keep looking until he had something to go on and contribute. He had to make a difference here... it was his mother that had been attacked, after all!

Player: Gold Rush Still she hadn’t come across anything she deemed useful. She watched the others around her. Maybe they were having better luck. She sighed, but was fully determined to continue her search. She continued looking over the water’s edge area. It was possible they would have to circle the entire lake to find a clue. But they didn’t really have time for that now did they. She glanced around, looking for any minute detail that could shed a light on their search.

Player: Twillie Twillie saw another dark furred female move towards the water's edge and she thought about it; if they didn't move into the water, and the trail led here, then around was the next best answer?
Her mind reeled, "We could cover more ground, faster, if we split into two teams and moved in opposite directions around the lake." She said quietly, not sure it was feasible and concerned it might be a waste of time - if they went the wrong way, the killer could just get further and further from them. This course of action makes sense, but what if I'm wrong? Despite her doubts, she turned resolutely, and looked for a place to start.WC:115

Einarr raised his head at the mention of splitting up. The suggestion hadn't come from someone in his pack, he noted with some suspicion. Were they trying to throw him off the scent or any clues? He'd heard of some wolfdogs that aligned themselves with those Berserker scum! Was this stranger in alliance with the assassin who came after his mother?
Don't allow yourself to get distracted. A wiser part of him said. Any time you waste fighting or talking could be used to find the villain. So he shook his pelt and then his head.
"If the enemy is still out there, they may be waiting to strike again. Going on ahead in a smaller group, makes us a bigger target. We should stick together for now." He replied curtly. If the stakes for him weren't so large, if it had been someone else's mother... But no, he had to find a clue, a hint... anything. But...He looked to Silke. He wouldn't let anyone in this group get hurt trying to track down the enemy without proper backup, either.
When the same wolf went on to proclaim that she may have found something, he sighed a little and nodded. "See, no reason to go on ahead or split up." He said, though mostly to himself.Straye He's normally nicer than this, I promise. xD{/quote]

Player: Twillie Twillie stopped in her tracks; her eyes were scanning the water's edge and a scent hit her nose that gave her pause. Her eyes narrowed and she slowly stepped closer, creeping forward, zeroed in on the edge of the lake. Her attention drew her towards a clue - she was intent in her search, she almost overlooked the subtlety of the clue.
Her ears perked up and she lifted her head to look around. Was this a clue? Was she right in thinking they were on the right path? Her eyes fell across the others who were there, seeking some indication that someone else had found something, maybe she should say something?
Staying silent because she doubted herself wasn't going to help anyone and there wasn't time for indecision.
"I think I found something!" Please let this be a clue instead of my mind playing tricks on me. I'm not... just seeing things because I want to see. she told herself flatly, silently warring with herself in her mind, her expression passive but determined.WC: 173

Player: Gold Rush Gold was getting tired. She slowly padded along, her head hung low to the ground. They had made a valiant effort, but perhaps this search was futile. With no other leads so far, she was beginning to worry. If they took too long, the attacker would definitely get away. She looked briefly up at the sky, wondering how much time had passed since they had begun the search. Maybe it hadn’t really been that long? She was one to misjudge the passing of time. After all, she often got caught up in her adventures and did not even realize how long or how short her journey had actually been. She kept going though, unwilling to stop due to her sheer determination. They would find a clue. They just had to. She heard someone nearby(Twillie) mention splitting into teams. “That might be a good idea,” she replied. “It could be worth a shot. I’m willing to try it.” She nodded. “After all, that way we make sure we cover the whole area in a shorter amount of time.” Gold then moved to start her search again. This time searching even further down the lake’s shore line.

Vivi noticed some others had found clues and she was happy they were making progress. She didn't need the credit so she wasn't angry or disappointed that she wasn't the hero of this hunt. She continued on looking around the lake trying to find any other clues. She wondered what else they might find out here. She looked out into the lake thinking about going in to swim and see if anything was floating around. She nodded to herself and started into the shallow muck of the lake. She felt the lake mud under her paws as she moved forward.
