With the comb in hand he instantly brought it up and began running the teeth through his hair. Only a few times he got stuck on a knot or two and pulled a bit harder. It hurt a little though so by the third time he tried to figure out an easier way to get it through his hair. When his mother mentioned hair ties with decorations on it he stopped mid stroke to look at her. There was a look of consideration on his face for a solid minute before he continued. "Maybe a different color." He liked blue so maybe they could find a tie that was dark blue.

With Lynx mentioning a color instead of actual decorations she nodded her head. Thea wasn't going to press him into getting something else. It wasn't like she had little girls that might like bows and things.
"Alright, you brush it nice and good? Try collecting it all up into a ponytail." She figured she might have to work with him a few times to make sure he got every last strand of hair. Or she could show him how to put his hair half up. So long as it was out of his face she would be happy.

He just got the comb through a last time when he heard his mother tell him to gather his hair up. So he handed the thing back and used both hands to grab hair and pull it up. It felt weird and he thought he was stretching his arms pretty far over his head but he was getting it. Once he thought he had it all he looked at his mother expectantly. "Like this?" There was a hopeful look on Lynx's face.

She dutifully took the comb back when it was handed over then watched her son as he pulled his own hair up. Thea nodded her head to encourage him. A small chuckle left her when he asked her if what he had was good and leaned forward so that she could grab a small bit of hair that he'd missed. "It was good but you missed some." With a grin she lifted it up and put it in his hand with the other hair.
"We can keep working on it later. I'll tie it now so you can go play and later today I'll make you tie it." Thea figured he'd be getting antsy soon.

His little cheeks colored a little with frustration as he realized he missed some of his hair. How had that happened? His shoulders dropped a little in defeat but then his mother said she'd tie his hair up this time so he could go play and he could try again later. With a smile he nodded at her. "Okay!" It made him feel good that she thought he could do a better job later on.
Once his hair was tied up he'd give her a quick hug and kiss to the cheek before running off to play.
