Out of the corner of his eye, Sessrumnir could see someone approaching him. He scowled down at nothing in particular hoping that maybe his expression would deter them from trying to engage in pointless conversation.

He glanced up only when she spoke, and although he would have liked to keep himself looking angry and unapproachable, the tension in his shoulders eased a bit when she asked an innocent question and made just as innocent of a comment.

This was the worst part — knowing there were people caught up in this war that shouldn’t be.

“I haven’t met too many others, either,” he resigned himself to responding. “Sessrumnir,” he introduced soon after, and then nodded to her outfit and symbols. “Neptune?”

Although she was clearly trying to hide her own face scars, Sessrumnir was not oblivious to the fact that she had them. With gashes so close to her eye, he suspected that she might even have her vision impared on one side, if not completely blinded.

He made no comment about them, but in a way that looked like he was just trying to get his lengthening bangs out of his eyes, he tilted his head just enough for her to see his own scars across his cheek and down his jaw. Maybe that would make her feel more at ease with her own. Or at least less judged, since there was clearly some anxiety in her posture.

Pendour's gaze lingered on the scars as the light hit them, just for a few seconds. It wasn't because she was surprised, or disgusted. This was a war, and she appreciated the gesture, if anything.

It was just something about the way the marks were too-parallel, like claws, that sent a wave of emotion down to her stomach. It probably wasn't a rare thing, with the city full of youma, but her eyes were full of something soft as she turned towards him all the way, revealing a nearly matching set of scars that cut across her right eye.

She knew better than to mention it, though. All she said was, "Sessrumnir. I like that." She didn't recognize the name, but it had a nice rhythm to it.

"It's hard to meet knights, sometimes. I've seen Earth, and Saturn, and one that wasn't from a planet at all." She squinted. "Ganymede, maybe, but other than that it's all senshi. Even here."

She glanced across the field, which was quickly filling up with them. Pendour liked senshi. A few of them had become her close friends, but it was easier to understand the magic of knights, and even to feel at home with them, sometimes.

"So it's very nice to meet you," she said. "I'm Pendour. Of Neptune, yes." At that point, her tension seemed to have faded enough that she smiled at him.

Metis

The small collection of people gathering at the table made Metis smile, the energy of one especially. It was good to see people could still be so happy. They needed that. Considering it was clear though Cybele was more familiar with at least one of them, Metis didn't wish to intrude, and nodded her head to the other Eternal. "Agreed. I had worked with a team before, but..." Her shoulders dropped briefly, and she swallowed. Was it... wrong to mention this? She didn't wish to dampen anyone's mood. Taking a breath, she continued, "Most have moved out of the city, others... I'm unsure of, though I'm aware one was corrupted. I'm hoping to make new connections again, and help prevent others from experiencing the same."

What befell Victoria was something she still felt guilt over, especially since she was unable to help break him out of it. But he was not the first case, nor the last. "Sorry, I hope I haven't put a damper on anything. I'll leave you to catch up with your friend, go wander around a bit and see if anyone I know is here. I'm Metis, by the way," she offered, before giving a quick wave of farewell.

She could feel Realta's body now and again press against her leg, the feline's aura so close to hers confirming she'd chosen to join her. Of course, the more energy signals that began to gather, the easier it became for her to see as they bounced around. They didn't get far--the cats' dampening fixed that--but it didn't block her ability to just see life energy. People began to just look like copper energies. Just like people, with fancy silhouettes as their energies ricochet against their uniforms if she got close enough.

No one called out to her, so she took that to mean that, perhaps, no one else she knew was here. Though at one point, she felt the guardian began to press against her leg in a way that had Metis turning towards two figures and her brow furrowed slightly.

"Recognize one from your phone," the guardian murmured, and the Eternal blinked behind her blindfold. Who..?

As they approached though, she could hear the deeper voice of one and smiled, perking up at the familiarity. So there was someone here she knew! Lifting a hand to wave to both figures, she paused a respectful distance away, smile bright. "Hope I'm not interrupting. Sessrumnir, it's good to run into you again." And under non-hostile circumstances, too. Especially ones not caused by her... by accident... Turning her head to the other person--she... couldn't tell if they were a knight or senshi, though--she inclined her head in greeting. "Hello, I'm Metis. I don't believe we've had the chance to meet before..? And this is Réalta here with me."

----

Réalta

A chunk of her attention was focusing on suppressing the magics around her. The rest of her attention was split between being mindful of her surroundings, and being particularly attentive of Metis. The Savannah didn't mind the splits. It was necessary to ensure people were protected, and that was a priority.

But she was also keen to memorize faces, putting photographs into her mental house for later storage, trying to catch names in conversations where she could. One thing she was excited for with the training and socialization, was to find out what people struggled with most, to understand what people felt they lacked within Order--and as a Mauvian among many, see if something could be done to fix this. Not just with senshi, but all of Order. Knights, too.

So as Metis began to wander, Realta glanced about, looking for faces she recognized from looking over the senshi's phone contact list previously. One face stood out--a knight. She immediately began to nudge the young woman over, as a familiar source of contact was a best place to start. Though his sourpuss expressions were less than ideal, she watched them fade as he began to converse with another knight that approached him. Hm. A facade, then..?

When Metis introduced her, Realta stepped up a little to clearly see the two knights, sitting down gracefully and wrapping her slender tail up around her legs. "It's a pleasure to meet you both," she said with genuine warmth, taking note of the similar scarring on their faces. War was never kind to anyone, regardless of side. "I've yet to meet any knights of Jupiter or Neptune, so I'm all the more grateful for it." She spoke truthfully, but also in a delicate way to easily inform her senshi more about the people she spoke with.

"What do you think of the event this evening?"

Sessrumnir said nothing as Pendour turned to face him fully now, but the similarity of the claw marks down her face had his blood boiling. His jaw tightened as he thought of all the ways he would like to end a particular half-youma's terrorizing. Even if it was another who gave Pendour her scars, he'd crossed paths with his attacker twice too many.

Thankfully, the softness of her voice and the expression in her eyes helped pull him back to where they were, and he snorted in amusement when Ganymede's name was mentioned.

"Might as well be a planet. It's bigger than Mercury," he said, although he kept the fact that Ganymede was married to his younger brother to himself. Just as he failed to mention said brother also being a Jupiter knight. It was to try and protect his family, after all.

"It's nice to meet you too, Pendour," he said with sincerity as she smiled at him.

He was almost surprised Metis found him, although he suspected the giant cat circling her ankles may have had something to do with it.

"Not interrupting at all. Just don't use your magic and it's good to run into you too," he half teased, although he watched her somewhat warily, and then nodded to the cat as she was introduced.

"Just going over different knights. We've got the eight planets, plus Pluto. Ganymede we already mentioned. Cosmos, Polaris, Chronos, Castor…" he said, as he glanced up at the sky as if that would help him think, deciding to keep his opinions of a handful of those names mentioned to himself.

"Likewise to meet you. I never feel good about large gatherings, but if you guardians have everything covered, things might be okay," he frowned in response to Réalta, apparently finding his optimism somewhere from deep down. He didn't want his negativity rubbing off on those who seemed like they were in a good mood.

If Spica struggled with starting a conversation, Carmen tried her best to smooth it along. "Hello there," she replied with a feline smile. "My name is Carmen. And you are? Feel free to tell me as many details as you'd like." It was flagrantly fishing for information, but she needed it. She hadn't met this senshi before, and it would be good to know more about her in case of future developments. Looking around, she spotted two senshi just sort of floating around in the middle of the field, and she did a very uncatlike thing: she whistled for them. "Excuse me, you two! Come here and meet your seniors," she said, her gaze directly on Makhaon and Fomalhaut.

Fomalhaut's attention got caught first, and she sauntered over to the cat and Super senshi without hesitation. "Yes, hello, did you call for me, kitty?" she asked Carmen before looking to Spica. "Hi! I'm Fomalhaut. What's your name?" Her demeanor was all pleasant smiles, but she felt a bit empty headed. What else where you supposed to do when meeting new people, especially new powered people? Hopefully there wasn't some little bit of powered etiquette that she had missed. She looked over her shoulder to see if the other basic senshi was following her, and it seemed that she was, so the concern ended there.

yoko lorako
Fomalhaut came over, hope you don't mind!

Makhaon had a feeling that the whistle was also intended for her, but she definitely did not like the idea of being whistled for as a summons for a lot of reasons. She came to the table, but out of spite, she decided to bother someone else other than the cat and the senshi duo near her. A senshi with warm-colored accents caught her eye for a bunch of reasons, the most compelling ones being that maybe her colors reflected a fire sphere, and also that she was cute (priorities? what priorities). She shot Asmodeus a silly, maybe slightly-too-wide grin, and reached into the candy bowl to take one solitary piece of candy. "Hey there! Makhaon, Senshi of Firewalking. How about you?" She hoped that she wouldn't be immediately shot down. Fingers crossed.

Noir Songbird
Makhaon is bothering Asmodeus!

Over in Cybele's corner, Megrez was still grinning like a fool. "Yes, yes I did! I'm guessing you haven't met the others yet. Everyone, introduce yourselves."

Glitnir rolled his eyes, because he was really not a part of Megrez's squad, even if he'd bumped into her enough. "Glitnir, Transcendent Knight of Mars." A small smile twitched at his lips as he recited his title. Something was satisfying about saying it aloud after a long time.

"Super Sailor Cor Caroli, Senshi of Will," Cor Caroli said, his small grin mimicking Glitnir's. "Nice to meet ya."

"Super Sailor Sadachbia, Senshi of Construction!" Sadachbia seemed to beam as she recited her title. It really did feel good to say aloud, a pleasant reminder of who she was supposed to be. She had a small slew of questions for Megrez's friend. "Hey, so, how did you and Megrez meet? What have you two done together? I'm curious about the history. I bet you guys have kicked a lot of Nega butt, right?" The mental image of her senior senshi and her best friend running around making chaos for Chaos was pretty awesome. She hoped that she could learn from Cybele, too.

The astronomy facts came back to her the more she thought about them. Ganymede might not be a planet, but it was a moon, and a moon of Jupiter. Pendour seemed to look past the Knight. "Oh, I'm sorry," she said, in the same gentle tone. "I didn't mean to insult your moon. I'm sure it's very lovely. Very, um, large."

Wait. That didn't sound right.

There wasn't so much time to stumble over her words, though. She heard footsteps to her right and turned to see a senshi approaching, an Eternal, by the wings, and one of the Mauvians as well. She didn’t stare longer than she should have at the woman’s face, but she couldn’t help the fact that her smile faltered at the sight of her blindfold. She’d seen something similar used as an eye patch before, but both eyes?

A snippet of her doctor’s lectures about protecting her remaining vision replayed in her mind, and the knot in her stomach twisted a little tighter.

It seemed rude to bring up when she was greeting her friend, though, so instead she simply said, “I’m Pendour. Nice to meet you both,” and then she tried her hardest just to think about knights.

“Oh, Cosmos. Of course. I met one of those, too. I went to her wonder, even.” She shifted so that she was facing all three of them the best that she could. “Have any of you met any Pluto Knights, since that’s smaller than Mercury, and only maybe a planet?” She glanced down, directly at Realta. “I never know how to feel about training, but I like meeting all the people that I can.”

Guine
Kaefaux

Cybele gave her usual professional smile as the other Eternal, Metis, turned to leave. Although she wasn’t trying to be exclusive, perhaps she was better set up for the quick introduction side of things with her current position.

She listened to each of Megrez’s friends in turn. “Glitnir. Sadachbia. I believe I can remember that,” she said, silently proud that she’d been correct about the knight. “And Cor Caroli,” she raised an eyebrow a fraction of an inch, tapping on the posterboard behind her. “So you’re my sparring partner for the evening. Hello.”

Sadachbia’s enthusiasm did get a brighter smile out of her, even if the question was a bit awkward. She had a soft spot for the excitable ones. She pressed her lips together as she thought back to the first time she’d Megrez, with them both nearly at the breaking point from the blood on their hands.

“You could say we met after ‘kicking some Chaos butt,’” she replied, shifting back to the professional smile. “And we’ve grown a lot together, since.” She glanced over to Megrez at that.

He hadn't expected the meeting, and he wasn't sure how the message had gotten to him in the first place, but he was certainly happy to receive it at any rate! It seemed to be a generalized invitation, but one where anyone could join and he couldn't possibly pass up. He had managed to secure some time off so that he could go and was given the time quite easily.

For some reason, his bosses were quite eager to let one of their best, if not their best employee, take a day off. Who knew? Certainly not all of the lazier ones who groaned about having to take over his shift in his stead. Still, he didn't really care for their complaints. It wasn't like he was there to make friends anyway. He cared about the job and the money was good. They apparently only cared about the money. Too many times he had to save someone that wasn't in his area or when he was on break because the others were flirting around or trying to claim that they were on their break.

At any rate, he was here, though he could tell that there weren't many other Knights at all, even if he counted Squires and Knights and not just Pages. Perhaps they weren't able to get the message? How he had gotten it was a mystery, but he had been told it was easier if one had an "upgraded" Knight ring. How he was supposed to get that he had no idea. But it didn't seem as though he was unwelcome, he just wished that there were a few more of his faction.

But oh well, they were all on the same team, and if it meant that he learnt more about, well anything really, then he could already declare this "training" a success. After looking around for a moment, he noticed that there were quite a few others looking at something that had been posted, and following their lead, took a moment to look at it as well. It took him a moment, but he eventually found his name, and apparently he had been paired with the only other Page around. He couldn't help but smile a little. At least he wasn't alone here! Now he just had to find them...

"Oh." Sawtooth's expression wavered momentarily at the girl's admission. He'd never thought of it before. People going missing in Destiny City had just always felt like the 'norm,' but with all this magical mumbo-jumbo that had recently been revealed to him, it probably shouldn't be all that surprising that many of the disappearances were related to this war. People were dying and vanishing all over the place and there were still so many civilians who didn't have explanations.

But the hesitance was short-lived, and Sawtooth gave a shrug. "It's really unlucky that the only two people you knew happened to be two that disappeared. I've been fortunate to not have that experience."

Sawtooth glanced back toward the rest of the gathering. He had no doubt he'd find his way over eventually, once everyone started pairing off with their designated partners, but it didn't hurt to scout out the rest of the group beforehand. "They seem a little busy," he replied nonchalantly. "Besides, all those guys over there, if they went missing, they'd have all those friends they're talking to to go looking for 'em. But when people hang out by themselves and don't talk to anyone..." He gave the girl next to him a very obvious sizing-up. "Who would you have to go looking for you, if you vanished?"

With another lazy shrug, Sawtooth ran a hand along the back of his neck. "Anyway, figured if I didn't know anyone and you didn't know anyone, it'd help us both to fix that."

"I think one of them is busy with family. The other...that's where I'm unsure." She was fairly certain she knew what was going on with the senshi of kracken...it was Kallichore she wasn't so sure on. She was strong though - she was eternal...she had to be able to handle herself...right?

"It is. I've got no one else to patrol with." So she saw no real point in it, especially on those long boring nights when nothing happened.

"I suppose you're right. Perhaps you should stay here then and we can get to know each other....or we will both be alone and no one will notice if we ever go missing. At least then we'll have each other to lead the search party." Even if it was a one person search party it would still be something.

Spica was happy her attempt of discussion was well received by the guadian cat.
"Nice to meet you Carmen. I am Spica, Senshi of candles. Well Super Senshi actually but I went out of town almost soon after I transformed in the Super stage and so I am basically a regular senshi, with maybe a little more stamina ..." She paused, she hoped she was not getting boring.
"I came back in town only recently after being away for almost eight years, so well yeah I am kind of back to start point about anything regarding the Order. Except well I can still fight. Sorry I am talking a lot, you are actually only the second guardian cat I met and I am such a clueless senshi."

She looked at the new Senshi joining them. "Nice to meet you Fomalhaut, I am Spica" she pulled out her hand for a handshake. "But I am barely a Super level so I am probably not to far as you." she was hoping this will make the girl feel less pressure just in case she was feeling any

Metis

Silently, Metis cast a thank you to the guardian for her discrete guidance and assistance. While she knew Sessrumnir was a Jupiter knight, the other individual was... entirely unknown. Two questions answered in one easy swoop.

She kept her smile light, hands clasped before her as she gazed towards the two copper figures. The teasing from Sessrumnir had her snort, and briefly a corner of her lips twitched more towards a playful smirk. "Don't worry, I swear I'll only use my magic if it's agreed upon for training--so unless you'll be participating, you've nothing to fear."

A less teasing, far more welcoming smile was turned to the other knight, Pendour. She was, herself, unaware of a pseudo-trend going on with the eye scars and damage. Instead, she was merely happy to converse with familiar people and someone new. Instead, she hummed as she considered Pendour's question, her fingers looping absently with the gold chain mixed with her bow around her waist, golden coins clinking together. "Any knights from Pluto..? No... actually, now that I think about it. I've met some of Mars, Saturn, Uranus, and Chronos. Jupiter, too," she added, tilting her head towards one there in question. Though she didn't mention it aloud, she internally mused at how even one of her cousins was a knight of Saturn... "But no, none from Pluto." Her head turned towards Sessrumnir, a brow quirking above her blindfold in question. Had he?

As Pendour had mentioned visiting a Cosmos knight's wonder--oh what must that be like?--she couldn't help but perk up with a new thought. "What are they like, your wonders? I know it's likely not much different in concept from visiting a senshi's homeworld, but I can't imagine what it might be like on Jupiter or Neptune." Especially after years of just hearing the oh they're gas giants, just pretty to look at, can't land there, blah blah and such...

----

Réalta

To be fair, Realta knew she'd yet to meet any knights, they were entirely the first for her. So she was all the more intrigued to hear the two knights list of some of what they knew of their fellows, tucking the bits of information away for her to poke around with later.

Still, treating large gatherings with a level of unease was understandable given the city's... history, and she nodded with her brows furrowing slightly. "We will do all we can to ensure peoples' safety. You should be able to converse and enjoy your time with friends, colleagues, and so forth without such concerns. Not have to constantly be watching your backs for danger." Her voice was firm, iridescent eyes and the star upon her forehead catching the floodlights sharply. It was not a show of bravo. The more she heard of how often large events were attacked, even involved in them herself, the more infuriated she'd become over the matter.

But she kept herself outwardly calm, having no wish to darken the mood of the evening. Instead, her ears flicked and swivelled, turning towards Pendour as the feline smiled. "It's good to grow your connections, certainly! Be they new acquaintances you can assist or ask for such later on, a familiar face at another gathering, or a potential friend--never know till you strike up a conversation, no? I enjoy watching sparring matches, myself, provided there is a suitable mentor present to offer advice to correct forms or offer suggestions to improve someone's technique... Though, even just tussles can be fun to watch, in and of themselves," she added after a small hum of consideration, chuckling as her tail flicked.

Sessrumnir

Sessrumnir was finding it difficult to keep a straight face as Pendour apologized, and didn’t quite manage to stop his lip from twitching up in the corner as he responded with, “Not my moon. That all belongs to Ganymede. And I guess the knights of Ganymede, but I don’t advise getting into that conversation with her. I don’t think she’s too thrilled about people being able to go to her moon without her.”

He wondered if Paris’s ears were ringing wherever she and his brother were. Chris had a baseball game he knew, and he was pretty sure he heard Paris was flying out to meet him for his game. Otherwise he might have tried to convince her to come to this thing, if only to keep him company.

Luckily, the company that found him was better than he could have hoped for.

“Probably. Or at least crossed paths with a Pluto knight. Crossed paths with a lot of knights even if I didn’t speak to them. There’s a place on Mars where knights are called to gather every few years or so, safe from the threat of the Negaverse.”

However, he knew that it was impractical to host training events like this on, say, the moon or someone’s planet. They would either have to wait for a full moon or spend a lot of energy taking people with them.

“A lot of rain,” he shared about his wonder as he crouched down to offer the back of his hand to Réalta to see if she tolerated any petting. It was probably a little weird to try and coax her like a normal cat, but hey, he was trying to be friendly and show he didn’t mean his worries as a personal attack on her.

“But inside is much drier. I’m pretty sure it used to be a university or college of some kind. Kind of hard to describe. How about you?” he asked and looked up at Pendour. “I guess it’s a little difficult to describe Metis, huh?”

Yes, it was a blind joke. He was only partially sorry for it.

Sawtooth tipped his head. Busy with family? He could understand that much. "Guess it's hard to be mad at someone just trying to keep their life together instead of worrying about all... this." He gave a lazy gesture toward the crows with one hand. Sawtooth had a family too, after all. A young daughter. And if being a knight became inconvenient or too dangerous for her, then of course he would have to choose his family over some long-lost wonder.

And some senshi were recruited so insanely young. It wasn't really a surprise some of them would develop 'real' lives after that and turned out to prefer it over participating in some war.

"Try not to take it too personally," he replied with a shrug. "I've not been a knight very long, but I get the impression that it can be hard to open yourself up to making connections when things are so... uncertain around here." Who knew when someone- a friend- could lose their life in a fight or be stolen to the other side. "But hey, I've got people who will go looking for me!" He said with an amused snort. "Maybe not for 'Sawtooth,' but at least for 'Elias.'"

"Anyway, that's my name." He held out a hand in offering. "It's nice to meet you, Stranger."

"One second," Cybele said to Megrez and her entourage.

She made her way around to the other side of the snack table, and smiled that same bright, practiced smile towards anyone who might look at her.

"I believe that's about all of us," she said. "Welcome, once again. It's time to begin the one on one training portion of tonight's event. I'll get everyone set up." She nodded at her clipboard. "Go ahead and come forward when I call your name."

And with that, she began going down the list.
