“I still want to get married there too! I wouldn’t want to think about a wedding without your parents or Carlee…s**t, Arias, she’d murder us…and that doesn’t sound like a start to a happy marriage!”
Whisler wore a relaxed smile and laughed softly. “No, I want one that’s just us…but then one that’s for Whisler and Newgrange. Of course, Carlee will have to come to that one too…and…when I get up there, to Newgrange, I mean…I’m a little excited to meet Aldwynn…I’ll have to get him to approve of me. And look, if it takes longer for the powered ceremony to happen…obviously that’s all right. We’ll still be bound on Earth…”
He paused an looked at Newgrange with a sudden grin. “Wouldn’t that be fantastic? Do you really think that there’s such a place? I…maybe there’s something special on your wonder if there isn’t on mine…ah…” His eyes were shining and he laughed softly. “…I’m…really getting excited. I suppose I should be good and hurry up and heal so we can explore, yeah? It…seems like a really good idea…”

Newgrange couldn't help but snort when Whisler insisted Carlee would kill them.
"...You're cute," he smiled. "We'll have a few ceremonies. Earth, here, Newgrange. Why not? You only live once. We can make up whatever ceremonies we want. "
Maybe one of them would really seal the deal.
He didn't want to think poorly of Nick--he loved him. Even now.
He just didn't know how much faith he should be having right now.
But the plans were nice. Being with Nick, like this? Newgrange's smile wasn't fake.
“That's the idea, Nick," he smiled. "Get better quickly. I feel like there's a whole world of things out there for us to do. Things we've never talked about. It's...exciting." Exciting enough to hold Nick's attention?
They'd have to see.
"So...a wedding. On Earth. What...do you want to do? How do you want to do it?"

Whisler looked utterly delighted by the questions, and the compliment. “Not as cute as you are. But…I will. I’ll be good. I won’t keep pushing things, I promise. And…I think it’s exciting too…for the Earth wedding…I don’t know. I’d like…like to have it this year maybe? Maybe in the Fall, when the leaves are really pretty? M-maybe we could go up into the mountains and have a small one up there, just family? God, Arias, can you imagine the pictures? Because I can…and I love the idea of them…” He watched the other knight with just a little trepidation, hoping that his idea wasn’t dismissed, or laughed at.
“…If you don’t want an autumn wedding, that’s fine, I’m good with any season…look, so long as you and your family are there, I’ll be happy. I…” Whisler gave a sad little laugh. “…Your family is wonderful. I’ve always thought so. I bet your mom will cry…good cry, I mean.”
Not that she wanted to think about Mrs. Hunter crying but.
“…Who’s taking whose last name? Can…” He hesitated. “…Can I take yours? I’ll…actually belong to a family then…it…are you okay with that?”

Newgrange tilted his head at him. "Of course you can." He shifted positions so he was resting near Whisler, shoulder to shoulder and still holding his hand. "I'd like that. To be honest, I hadn't even really thought about it. But if you took my last name, you'd better bring the family honor."
It wasn't a jab. But he didn't want him to take the name and run off with it, and share it with some other man.
"I'd like an autumn wedding, though. I love the smell of the trees. And you know I like hiking. I've got a few places that I like to visit every time I go out to the mountains. We could take a trip out there, too. Outside of the busy city, pick out a place. Not..."
He paused. "Not one that actually needs you to hike to get there. They have a nice guest center. We could visit and ask. I'm sure they'd let us set up a reservation. I've never tried the catering out there, but it always smells good. I'm not...really big on big events," he admitted. "A small ceremony with family sounds good to me. My mother and father, Carlee. My cousin is moving to Destiny City soon," he said. "He might be staying with my parents while he finds a place of his own, so it would be rude not to invite him. I mean, if that's okay. And we could invite more, if we wanted. But with so few people we could have a nontraditional wedding. No aisle to walk to, no bride and groom's sides. Just...us. And our family."

Whisler smiled, resting his head against Arias’ shoulder. “Ah…I’ll bring the family honor, and I’ll work even harder at my sign language…I…” He hesitated. “I think we should find someone to do the ceremony in sign…and we could sign as we do our vows…so your parents can see what we’re saying…I…and I think that would make your sister cry…which, isn’t really my goal, but now that I’ve thought about it…I want to do it.”
He paused. “Good cry, good cry, of course. I want her to like me again…”
The male still wore a little smile and nodded. “I’d like your cousin to come. I hope that we can all be friends…and I hope that…it’s as magical as I’m thinking it’s going to be…” This was really going to happen, and for the first time, he only felt excitement. They were going to be married…live happily ever after.
“I love you, Arias…completely and truly. I will be yours forever.”
Whisler truly meant it too.
