Uquin tensed up, ready to pull away if she continued to fight - but after that first shove she went slack, and began to cry. It was - startling, after everything he'd seen of her up until this moment - she was fierce, powerful, and independent to a fault. ... But. Crying at perhaps the most shocking news of her life didn't suddenly invalidate all of that. He carefully pet her hair, almost soothingly, where previously she'd been yanking at it, then braced his hand against the back of her neck loosely.
He opened his mouth, ready to respond to her question, but... then her last words, so quiet he almost missed them, landed... and he went quiet, feeling a lump of emotion in his throat. It was such a sweet little gesture, for her to ask at this moment, given how panicked she was. "... We'll be alright." He answered, leaning back just enough to look at her properly. "And of course I'm not leaving." He said, his tone quiet but firm. "I know you could do it, if anyone can it's you. But you won't have to."

The sensation of physical touch being the thing to calm her was new. She was normally so put together or at the very least, hysterical with rage. Feeling this conflicted to the point of tears had brought her to a new emotional stage, one that...Uquin was strangely well equipped to handle. She didn't know if he was panicking the same way she was or not; he was good at hiding it if he was.
Maritza nodded her head slowly and gave a small half smile. "Okay." It wasn't as if she blamed the child - children - for existing and it was pointless to be angry with Uquin. She was just as guilty as he was and going over the list of 'what ifs' would just circumvent the situation at hand. The facts were that she was pregnant and within a matter of months their lives would change forever.
"...You're right, we'll be alright. We just need to be prepare and..." Maritza paused to sniffle and collect herself. Thankfully her tears had stopped for the most part, leaving her violet gaze puffy and red. "...and tell Rivyn. And your daughters."

You know, if he was honest? He half expected Maritza to get agitated again, or to keep crying now that it had started. But she was a force to be reckoned with; it was as if the moment the emotions burst forth from her in the form of tears, they'd run their course and left her more calm than she had been.
Oh, he was panicking - but somehow, having gone through this before (even if it was so long ago, now, that he was a completely different man than he had been), and having the motivation to be calm FOR her - considering she was the one physically going through it... it made it easier.
That she was already looking to 'plan' for them only brought a small, but honest smile to his face, and very carefully he caressed her cheek, hoping to help wipe the tears away. "... There's time for all that. I'll ... draft letters tonight, to tell them. ... First though-" He squeezed her shoulder then leaned back a step. "I'll get you dinner. What do you want? I'll cook it, or go get it for you?"

Planning was all she had. Her schematics and diagrams were the only thing that made sense to Maritza in that moment. Even if he told her to hold off on it she very likely wouldn't. Once the shock had worn off it was highly likely that she would sit down with her supplies and work out some kind of idea. Still, the feel of his hand on her face was soothing in it's simplicity and brought a brighter smile to her features.
"Let's cook. I don't want to go back out just yet." At least, not in what she was wearing. Maritza wasn't ashamed of her bump, but seeing as she wasn't entirely comfortable showing it off to Zenner just yet she thought she might just take those shirts back from Rivyn. At least until she got some of her own in a better fit.
"How about something simple? You're bound to be tired and I don't want you burning anything."

Hah! He could almost see the look in her eye that said 'I'll do what I want to, thank you very much!' But... for now, she seemed content to focus on the most pressing issue which was eating. He wanted, so very badly, to kiss her again, especially when she smiled so beautifully, but he resisted somehow - just looked warmly into her face, then pulled away to leave Rivyn's room, leaving her to pillage his clothing unhindered.
Dinner, he could do. Planning out how massively their lives were about to change? That could come a bit later.
