Tytus was lost in the battle against the radaku. Both had continuously been attacking and defending against each other while the teen worked at the ropes. Exhaustion decorated the Oban's face, his brow and body drenched in sweat and blood, but he continued pushing back. Perhaps if it was solely for himself the temptation to just let go and fall would have won but the reminder that there was another life on the line kept him going. He was a stubborn soldier like that after all. It was what had kept him going through all of the battles that he had faced over the years. This was nothing in comparison! That was at least what Tytus told himself as he shoved back a final time, the warning about the bridge registering as soon as the whole thing shifted. The larger radaku had been taken off guard, many tumbling over the side and into the rushing waters below, but the larger one clawed at the bridge in its desperation.
Tytus found his hand clutching tightly at the rope bridge as he dangled over the side. He swore he heard a few faint splashes as he hung on tightly to his lifeline. Roaring pain raced up his leg as the radaku managed a last swipe at his leg before Tytus kicked it from the rope bridge as well. A howl erupted from its maw as it fell and then there was silence. Finally a few moments later the Oban called out, "Give me a few and I'll get up there soon!" His voice wavered though his exhaustion showing through as he slowly brought himself together to try and attempt the climb up. His fingers ached from holding on but he simply clenched his jaw tightly as he fought through the pain.

In all honesty Eurig wasn't sure which way this battle was going to end. The exhaustion was plain enough to see weighing down on the man, and after fighting for so long he had to be injured, even if Eurig couldn't see it. Everything was so tight that he thought for sure at one point the Oban would die, especially once the ropes were cut.
Finally, however, the last radaku fell and there was a reprieve. It was short lived, but now at the very least Eurig didn't have to worry about anything other than the assistance. He braced himself despite the pain threatening to take him under and pulled on the rope. Each tug worked muscles all throughout his body, including those in his calf, staining the already crimson sash a darker shade. His breathing came out in harsh pants, but Eurig pulled, one hand over the other, desperate to get his savior up onto solid ground. They'd simply made it too far to falter now!

His whole body was screaming at him like it was caught in an inferno. Blood, sweat and grime had ruined his clothing but Tytus managed to slowly but surely climb up. There was a close call - a gust of wind rocking the bridge and nearly ripping it from his fingers - but Tytus managed to hold on. It was hard though and he felt his fingers start to get slick from the grime of everything. If the teen hadn't been pulling the bridge back up then Tytus was certain he would have fallen. He simply hadn't the strength to climb the rest of the way back up! All he could do is hold on with what little strength he had left and wait for the teen to finally drag him back onto land.
As he clawed his way off of the cliff side and back onto more stable ground, Tytus simply flopped over and panted. His fingers, almost stiff like a corpse, were tightly clasped around his lance for dear life while his other hand still clung to the ropes. It was simply too painful to move in the moment. All he could do was slightly move his head to the side so that he could study the younger man. "Thanks." He managed with a weak smile.

After the bridge fell Eurig was sure the oban would have gone with it, but thankfully the man had managed to grab the rope he'd thrown over the edge. It was a team effort to get him back up, but Eurig knew so long as the xaraan stayed where it was supposed to then if he lost strength at least the guy wouldn't go into the river. By the time he was safely up on land Eurig's palms were shredded by the rope and his leg could no longer support him. As soon as he was sure the oban was safe he dropped to his knees, swayed for a moment, then promptly fell onto his back. Eurig's breath came in quick, labored pants as his body struggled to process everything that had happened to it.
For a moment he just laid there and focused on not passing out. Even with his eyes closed he heard the man, and offered a tired smile of his own. "Right....back at you." He opened one eye as his breathing starting to regain some semblance of normalcy. "You were amazing..."

"Nah..." Tytus managed in between his own gasps for air, "Just surviving." The Oban rested along the ground, his gaze seeing dark spots floating about. A few more minutes. He thought tiredly as he forced himself to study the teen. He would have to claw his way from the ground and hope that Rakan remembered a path to the nearest settlement. They would make it. He would make certain of that. Tytus felt relief blooming in his chest as he enjoyed the silence of their temporary sanctuary that they had managed to create by destroying that bridge. Now to just find a healer for me and him. He thought as he laid there slowly regaining whatever strength he could muster for the journey ahead.
