[8/10] He was learning so much today! About crabs, and their shells - about the ocean inside the shells (which he'd been hesitant to believe from his dad, but HAD to believe now that someone who knew what they were talking about had said it). Morain furrowed his little eyebrows, listening intently to the shell while holding it delicately - as if ready to fling it to the ground is a crab suddenly appeared out of it. But when he heard the ocean sounds, his expression cleared, and he lowered the shell back down again with a thoughtful expression. Thankfully, he WASN'T a thief, so he sighed out in obvious relief, squatting down next to his collection of shells. He plucked a few of them slowly out, setting them with reverent care a few inches away - far enough they'd be 'separate' from the other group.
He had to make sure not to take them all, she'd said! "The ocean is weird." He murmured, somewhat gleefully, grinning at Brexxa.

She watched him as he held the shell to his ear and smiled. She wondered what he heard. The crashing waves of the surface, or the swishing of the waves from below. Some people heard one over the other. As he pulled it away and then started to sort his shells so that some were placed farther apart she moved her head to the side with curiosity. The claim that the ocean was weird made her chuckle some and nod her head. "Yes, but it is also beautiful and giving." She pointed to the shells the boy had set aside. "Why are these over here?"

[9/10] Beautiful and giving. Hm. Morain nodded, as if he understood what those knowledgeable words meant, then looked back up at her, grinning proudly. " I'm givin' some of the houses-- shells -- back." He announced. He even chose to graciously return one of the prettiest ones. The last thing he wanted was for the crabs to get upset that he'd taken all the pretty shells for himself. " ... Even if it bit my sister. It's probably 'cause she was hogging all the shells. I'd bite someone too if they stole MY stuff."

With the boy giving his explanation she chuckled a little with a nod. "Good idea. It would be nice for them to have some shells too." Brexxa couldn't help but grin as Morain said he'd bite someone if they took his stuff. It sounded like such a little kid thing to do. It was kinda cute though. She continued to watch him as he sorted the shells into different piles. It made her wonder if perhaps the boy collected other things as well. Rocks or crystals maybe? Those were just as pretty.

As it so happened, Morain didn't really collect too much. Not compared to his baba, or to his brother who liked crystals too, or his sister. No- no, he just liked pretty things, mostly wearing them, and this he all happily babbled to the poor woman. Thankfully, not too long - eventually it started getting late enough that parents along the beach were calling for their kids to come back, and Morain perked up at hearing one such call.
His family, he said, lived in Matori but weren't local to this specific beach. But they'd be staying a short while here with a friend so - so he could find Brexxa sometime, he said hopefully, and give her any more shells he found.
