Ryan laughed brightly at the tease, grinning as wide as his face would allow. "Sure," he agreed, "I don't mind having a taste-tester for all my experiments. I'm too used to my own craziness; need someone with fresh taste buds." He fell silent for a moment as she got her next star charm, politely refusing for himself as he had one already, and nodded sagely at the bench. "Nobody wants to sit on names, and yet..." He shrugged. "Guess that's why they don't pay me the big bucks. I'm not ridiculous enough."

"To be fair I study architecture and I'm not so sure I could come up with something this stupid," she pursed her lips and then shook her head. With her eyes narrowed she clearly seemed to have something come to mind and she glanced briefly at the bench again.
"Actually, I think I could..." she admitted. "But it would only be because the commissioner wanted something this literal and had ignored every other more artistic or creative proposal in favour of 'etched to the point of unusable bench'," she explained. It was the equivalent of someone wanting to use comic sans on their business cards and it wasn't as if the designer could deny them, they were paying for it after all!
Ah, but she almost forgot herself.
She stepped forward to take the clue from the box that had been carefully set beside the bench and opened it up. Her eyes lit up with recognition at that clue at least, she'd know where to go for this one and she'd have time to stop by some of the other things she wanted to do on the way!
"Did I ever say thank you?" she spun round to look at him again and grinned. "You're owed one if I haven't."

Ryan snickered to himself. "You've got a fun sense of humor," he said, grinning. As she mentioned thanks, he shrugged. "I honestly don't remember if you had or not," he said sheepishly, "I would assume so, but. You're very welcome. You got a handle on that next one?"

"Well, here's another one just in case -" She took a breath and then gave a firm nod.
"Thank you!" She remained as enthusiastic as always, but she certainly looked like something out of a manga with her overly exaggerated movements and actions. Still, the gratitude made her feel better. Lily had never been one to ignore someone's good will and to think it may have slipped her mind didn't sit well with her.
"But I think for the next bit I'm in a good place, I know this one for sure," she reassured him. "So I think when it comes to this good deed you are free to go," she grinned.
"Off into the great unknown to make the world's best pastries."

Ryan chuckled at her enthusiasm, feeling really... just plain good. "Alright, well, you're welcome, and good luck," he said, waving slightly, "I don't think donuts for dinner is quite alright, but I can prep them for breakfast tomorrow, at least." He shot her a teasing grin and started the walk back home. He certainly was hungry now, and he was pretty sure the meat he'd bought had thawed by now, and he could make some beef stroganoff out of it.

"You're a grown a** adult and you can eat donuts for dinner if you want!"
That was what he would hear as he made his way home, but he was free of Liliane for now. She had a final set of clues to work through and by the end she might actually learn something. At least she'd had some company for a portion of it and it hadn't been bad company at all. Maybe she'd run in to him again, despite how big the city was it felt quite small some of the time so who knew, eh?
This in mind she set off in her own chosen direction and her next destination.
