She could guess that things were confusing for the little earthling but she was impressed with him nodding along anyways. Akeldama chuckled again begore she too gave a nod of her head. "My name is Akeldama, but I go by Akel. If you ever need me you can ask for me." She wouldn't mind coming to help the little boy again. Or just making sure he was left alone by the others if he ever wandered out into the woods again.
"Caolan. That's a vey nice name. And I am being nice because I don't hurt little ones. Elaria or earthling." Her hand moved up again but this time found his hair to ruffle gently. "If you're done then we can get you home." Akel smiled again as her hand left his hair and grabbed her spear. She pulled it from the ground and whistled for Yava to follow as she started to head for the earthling village with Caolan still on her hip.

Akel...dama. That was such a unique name, so different from the ones in his own settlement. But it was this lady's name, so he committed it to memory as best he could, especially since apparently this name meant some measure of safety. As calm as he felt now, he hadn't forgotten that fear he'd felt when he first saw her, and ... her warnings hadn't fallen on deaf ears.
His little cheeks did flush a bit at the praise of his name, but he found a tiny frown marring his face. She didn't hurt children - but clearly that meant she might hurt adults. It was a moral gray that he'd never thought of before, at his age, and one that he'd need to puzzle out for a while... once he was safely home again.
He closed his eyes and hunched his shoulders, grunting as his hair was ruffled, but he nodded eagerly, and carefully held onto his basket as they walked, tilting his head to watch the little creature, Yava, as it scuttled after them.
Eventually, he recognized a copse of trees that marked the boundary of the village - just a bit further, and the settlement would come into view. He wriggled a bit until she was forced to put him down, clutching at his basket as he turned back to peer up at her. "Thank you - Akel-dama! For bringing me home and--" He looked down at his basket, beaming again. "For my paints!"

She walked along with him for a time, her eyes moving around to search for any one else. Akel didn't think another earthling would like her holding one of their own. Likely think she was trying to kidnap him. She felt safe in thinking that one of her tribe wouldn't be this close to the earthlings so she relaxed a little on that front. When Caolan started to wiggle she slowed before finally stopping and kneeling down to put him down on his own two feet. She looked him over to make sure he was alright then nodded her head and smiled at him. "No problem, Caolan." Once more she reached up to poke him on the nose, still gentle with him. "Don't wander off again, alright?" In truth the Elaria didn't think that would really work. As a child she'd done what she wanted all the time simply because she was curious. Her green eyes went to the basket as he beamed and she smiled again. "Tell you what.. give me a day or two then come check over here for another basket. I'll see about getting you some roots so you can have another color. How's that sound?" It would give her something to do, a way to train Yana, and also keep the boy from wandering off to look for his own. Hopefully.

As kind as she was, Caolan admittedly was a bit relieved to be back in familiar territory. He giggled a little, once again, at the little poke to his nose, scrubbing his hand over it - but then he remembered his 'warrior' paint, and he carefully pulled his hand back, and grinned up at her instead. "Yes, Miss Akel!" He chirped at her instruction, already heaving his now heavy basket, intent on stepping away. But then she spoke again and he paused to listen, gasping and stumbling back towards her again at her promise. "Really?! Wow! Thank you! Ohgosh, I wonder what color it'll be--" He adjusted his grip again, but practically glowed up at her. "Thank you! I promise, I'll be safe!"
This said, he turned and tottered off towards the town again, his face flushed with excitement. Soon enough, his father would be home from his travels again - and he'd be able to show him how he was big enough to make his own paints now! True, he'd needed help to do it but...
At the thought, at the edge of the village he turned back to look, and still seeing Akel he shifted the basket onto his hip and raised a smudged hand to wave at her. It was a strange, surreal meeting but - the moss was proof that it had happened, even when the Elaria finally disappeared.

There was just something about the cute giggles the kid made. It went straight to her heart and made her soft. Akel was sure if Caolan ever needed her she would be there - and the boy wasn't even hers! She looked up and around, once more making sure no earthling saw her and panicked. Whoever the parents were of this little one should count themselves lucky indeed. He was adorable, even for an earthling.
She chuckled when he started to ask about the color. "We'll see what I can find for you." She planned on bringing him several colors but it would be one at a time.
Content with his promise to stay safe she nodded and watched him go. The Elaria remained crouched where she was as she kept her eyes on him. Akeldama made sure he was well within the boundaries of his own territory before she stood up and turned to disappear back into the woods. She had much to think about now...
