Hearing the love in Baba's voice was heart warming. It was like listening to a living fairytale. So much of their relationship had been marred with unfortunate circumstances during Sol's life, but hearing about the good times...the pull he'd had towards Papa...it was nothing if not magical.
"...There was." He answered with a small smile. Why bother denying it? "Before my eyes failed...I was in Sauti, with my teacher. I met him there and it's just...You can't imagine how bright he is. He's a hybrid, so his skin is blue like a matorian with a few markings, but his hair..." Sol found himself chuckling, light and quiet so as not to wake everyone. Still, his cheeks were a dusky color that darkened as he talked. Remembering Koril just brought out the brighter side in Sol "His hair is the most obnoxious shade of red I've ever seen in my life. I thought it was dyed at first because no one could really have hair like that, but it was all natural." Sobering a little, Sol settled back into a comfortable spot with Siel nestled against him, "I was...in such a dark place then, trying to keep everything hidden, but he made it bearable. We went to Jauhar together, so he could go on to his family in Matori and I went back to Zena." Whimsically he added, so soft it may as well been to himself, "He's the last face I remember seeing before the world went black. I'm glad it was him."

... Now that Sol was talking to him about this, Nimueh realized he'd never talked with Sol about this sort of thing before. Ygraine... that fanciful girl, had come home almost weekly with new crushes, often travelers on their way through their small village towards the Zenan capital. But Sol? It sobered him to hear Sol speak about someone like this, and he watched him with intrigue in his gaze. "Well, we both go for the bright ones don't we?" Nimueh teased gently with a deep voiced chuckle.
After a moment, he carefully shifted to move closer, careful not to jostle Callum or the other two babies, who slept soundly behind him. He moved to lean against the wall with Sol, letting their shoulders touch comfortably. "To answer your question; I didn't know that Callum was the one. But I knew that when he came to find me after we'd been apart for a long while, I'd never been so happy, and I never wanted to let him go again. You should find this boy. Once things settle down here, your papa and I can help you if you need us to - or, goddess forbid, we could enlist your sister and her new friend to help."

"Koril's not as fanciful as papa." Sol snorted, curling his lip with a snide little smirk. His personality may have been just as loud, but thankfully he dressed in a much more relaxed manner. At least, he had last they spoke....What if he's become a fan of sheer pants? What then?
Was Baba getting tired? Sol could hear the older man shifting around, but without being able to see him he could only guess. If he wanted to lay down he could, it wasn't going to bother Sol to hold onto Sie-
Oh. This was...unexpected, but...nice.
"No...No, that's...It's fine, really. You and Papa are going to be very busy with these three for a long time, and Ygraine has her own worries now. It's okay." Shifting the babe to his other shoulder, Sol gave a little half turn and snuggled up closer to his father, leaning more than just 'a little' of his weight on him. It was just comfier this way. "I've got the clinic to tend to, anyway. Someone in this family had to settle down and get a job."

Yes, well. Nimueh couldn't imagine anyone quite as fanciful as his husband. He glanced at the sleeping man, his gaze soft and adoring, without reservation since no one was there to see it. But... it was so soothing, to be here with his son and youngest children. Nimueh reached up a hand to fondly pet back Sol's blonde hair, snorting at his dismissal. "Being responsible and keeping up stable work? Ridiculous." He teased, smirking softly.
"Just promise your old man you'll think about finding this boy again. I'd hate for you to be all on your own, up there in Zena... I'd feel much better if I knew someone was watching out for you, too."

Sol startled a little at the touch, but just as quickly found himself relaxing under his baba's hand. Somewhere along the line he may have taken up the mantle of 'solitary son', but it had never been by choice. Life had a funny way of coming up on you and for a long time he'd been so full of anger that Sol hadn't been able to focus on anything other than his own misery. Now, however....now he was able to find happiness in quiet moments like this.
"...If you help me to write a letter to him I'll see about having it delivered before I leave for Zena. I can't promise more than that." It wasn't much but it was a start and surely that counted for something.
