“Other thoughts? Tytus quirked a brow as he watched Tyiva struggle with something. While he didn’t know the Alkidike personally it was still in his nature to always offer aid to others and he couldn’t help himself, “Would you want to perhaps talk about it? I hear sometimes just voicing your thoughts really help. Is there a reason that children seem to upset you so?” It was pouring rain outside and he had already finished his ale so the Oban man seemed to have no fear as he directly spoke with Tyiva, “I’m not the type to judge so as long as you aren’t wanting to slice my throat then I’m game for offering opinions?”

Tyiva sighed once more as she studied her mug, “It’s easy enough for you to offer but harder for me to actually voice my thoughts.” She pursed her lips in frustration, “Are all earthlings so sociable? You seem very eager to listen to a stranger’s woes.” The Alkidike glanced up thoughtfully before finding some of her resolve slipping away. She did have quite a few things on her mind after all, “Is it so normal for you to mix blood with other earthlings? My Sisters find it such a strange idea and I worry that if any one of my kind have children with an earthling that their lives will be much harder. Could I...I mean any of my Sisters be okay to bring such children into existence? Would they end up hated instead of being loved?” Why would Aisha even grant blooms if their existences were so cursed? Tyiva found herself battling with her own doubts and logic. Not that she would ever express her doubt of Aisha to an earthling, at least not with a stranger.
“You are a parent of mixed bloods so perhaps you understand the struggle?”

“Ah.” Tytus took a deep breath as he thought over the Alkidike’s words, “Honestly? I say if you truly love your partner then having children should not be seen as a curse but rather a blessing. Despite the mixed blood they are the product of your love after all. How could you hate such a thing? Thankfully our world is much more open to the idea now. While I cannot speak for your Sisters I would only offer this to you, if you are happiest with a certain person then that is what truly matters.” He flushed lightly, “Perhaps it’s a bit cheesy but love in this world is a treasure and if you find it then pursue it. Having children can expand that love and leave a legacy for the future, your mark of devotion in a sense.”
He smiled as he thought of his own children, “I would not change anything about my own for the world. They are the lights of my life and helped me to grow as a person. Perhaps you...I mean your Sister should start considering the benefits of their love instead of worrying about the judgment of others. I hear trusting in your heart is a good start to opening up your path to a bright future.”

Happiest with the one she loved? Tyiva felt her cheeks darken at the thought. It would mean leaving behind everything that she had known...her family would not be happy with her decision to settle with an earthling. Her bloom Sisters especially would be against her. Perhaps her mothers would be more understanding but even she feared their disdain. Still, the earthling was right in a sense. She did feel deeply for that certain person and to see features of her own mixed with the earthling woman’s would be amazing indeed.
“Perhaps you are correct, Tytus.” Tyiva finally admitted quietly as she peered at the Oban from the top of her mug, “Your children must be happy to have you as a father. I’m sure that they are showered with love and that is truly what matters most.” Perhaps having mixed heritage was not a handicap but rather a blessing. Two cultures to expand their horizons instead of just one….such a strange thought.
“I definitely have a lot to ponder over.” Tyiva admitted quietly as she stood from the table, “It looks like the storm is over. Enjoy your drink and when you leave please remember to get your lovely children some of those crystals.” The Alkidike smiled warmly towards Tytus, “Thank you for...listening to me.”

“You’re welcome!” Tytus called out as Tyiva started to walk away. It was a nice feeling knowing that he had allowed her to express something which had obviously been bothering her. I just hope she finds her answer soon. If only they had been allowed more time to talk, but then again it seemed he had gotten enough of his opinion across. Maybe just maybe the Alkidike would consider his words and a new future would begin for her and whoever she had in mind. The thought brought a small smile to his lips before he glanced down at his mug once more. Time to finish up here so that I can return home to my own family soon.
