[Event-S] Beyond the Stars (Runelucia)
Quote:
It wouldn’t be a star festival without a meteor shower! Right on time, a beautiful array of shooting stars graces the night sky. Most meteor fragments appear to be little white or yellow lights streaming across the sky, but if you watch closely enough you may find that some of them seem to be pink, blue, and even purple in color. The scientists have reported that it’s just different components burning up as they enter the atmosphere, but there’s something undeniably magical about it.
Rune sighed softly and smiled. She was alone this evening, but she wasn’t lonely. She had just logged out of her thriving v-tuber account and turned off her equipment for the night. Sounds of her fan chat box pings continued to reverberate in her mind. In addition, her audience showered her with many emotes and cheered as she sang a couple of song covers from latest releases. While she hasn’t monetized her efforts (... because she’s a cat in reality, not that anyone else has to know), she has agreed to accept virtual currency in the form of tips and gestures of support. The virtual currency was outfitted like stars, and she’d hear them tingle after every session. What would she do with them? Who knows… but it’s nice knowing that she has some kind of captive audience for her starstruck songs.
Meanwhile, Lani was presently outdoors, and gave no Rune notice on when she’d return. No matter, Rune thought. It’s not difficult for her to distract herself. Although, dinner was another issue. Provided that Lani’s mother continued to stay out for the remainder of the evening, Rune may possibly be able to sneak into the kitchen and fish out for a snack… that weren’t cheap fish sticks. For some reason, her family has stocked up on those… unpalatable processed fish food. Rune shuddered at the thought of seeing Lani or her mother develop a taste for it. It’s quite absurd! That aside, for now, Rune will continue to lounge and roll in Lani’s room.
After rolling on the sheets for a while, and from fluffing the pillows she had used for her session, Rune shimmied up to the window and pawed it open. A faint breeze fluttered indoors, swaying the drawn curtains. It felt refreshing and cool. Rune sighed contentedly before lifting her head up towards the night sky.
She gasped. Goodness, there were a myriad of iridescent stars zip across the sky! How rare, how magical, and how marvelous! Red, yellow, pink, blue… the hues were endless. It faintly reminded Rune of the numerous penlights that rippled like the ocean across the audience hall in a recording of an idol concert footage that she borrowed from Tochi. What impressed her was how coordinated everyone was for whichever girl was on stage. It gave Rune a lot to look forward to when she could inspire Lani in the ways of becoming a model senshi… again. Rune also fantasized a team… or unit… of senshi, ones that are more than willing to break into song the sake of peace. How lovely would that be… but even that sort of thing was far removed from reality, so that sort of fantasy simply remained inside Rune’s mind (and her dreams).
Rune continued to daydream as she stared at the sky. She’d associate each variably-hued star with an idol or song that’s familiar to her, and she’d giggle at the thought. They’re having the time of their lives! Singing across the skies… and galaxies! Showing each planet what song and dance and feelings of joy are capable of. At some point, a pair of stars skimmed the sky. They were correspondingly green and purple, which surprised Rune. “Oh! Those two stars remind me of Lani!,” she gasped to herself.
Perhaps… Rune ought to muster her courage soon and try asking Lani if she’d try this sort of venture again. She was rejected staunchly before, but who knows? She could have a change of heart at this point… maybe.
