"Rivyn if you don't release me right now I will-"
To silence his sister Rivyn merely turned her just so and smothered her in his bosom. "Oh yes, right, a friend." He clucked his tongue with a smirk. Once Uquin was inside the larger lightning male tapped the door just hard enough with his hip to close it. Only then did he release his sister, much to her chagrin.
Maritza, for all her commanding energy and pomp, was reduced to little more than a huffy girl by the time he was done with her. Her hair was tossed, the strap of her suspender slipping down the rugged landscape of her shoulders and her skin was flushed a shade of almost red.
"Same as usual then," Rivyn reached over to help fix her hair, but Maritza promptly took a step closer to Uquin just to get away. "She does like her playthings to have a little bit of a foreign taste, but it has been a while since Ritzy brought anyone back home." He pursed his lips and placed one thick, painted finger against his lower lip. "Hmm. You look a little older than the last one."
"Is there a reason why you're painting me up to be a strumpet?"
"Oh no, not at all, Ritzy. We're all adults here and we have our needs. I don't mind you staying, any help is welcome, but I must ask-" Rivyn stepped closer to Uquin and sized him up with a long, languid look. "-are you staying with my sister or me?"

... She was cute, flustered and annoyed like this. Not that Uquin would ever dare to say it to her face, lest she punt him right out the door on his arse. Uquin narrowed his good eye at the larger man when he called him out on his delicate phrasing of his and Maritza's relationship, but merely raised a scarred eyebrow when the man continued.
His own train of thought was similar to Maritza's - why exactly was he painting this image of her? When Uquin was younger, with a fierce temper and lack of decorum, he might have risen to the bait and either felt the need to defend her honor, or to try and correct the man on his assessment of him. But Uquin was an older man, now, and he felt no need to do either, especially once Maritza had easily called her brother out on it herself.
... Then again - older or not, Uquin definitely felt himself lean back on instinct when Rivyn leaned in closer, crossing his arms loosely in a pose meant more to keep the younger man at bay than anything else. But- he stubbornly didn't step back, away from him. "I'm afraid I wouldn't look half as fetching in feathers." Uquin replied, his tone dry but honest, and a hint of a smirk darted over his face. "... and besides, as Maritza can attest I'm far too boring for you. Isn't that right?" He tilted his head back down towards her, intent on keeping her involved in the conversation instead of turning it into some sort of manly chest pounding match between the two men.

"Exactly." She gave a little half smile and leaned over to bump her hip against his. Her brother was over the top, as usual, but his antics weren't exactly unusual for him. She'd suspected long ago that this was Rivyn's own personalized form of hazing. He was still playing the role of big brother even if he didn't fit the stereotypical view of it, and by coming on so strong he could knock away anyone who wasn't seriously interested. Of course, Maritza didn't need that kind of help; if she didn't want Uquin there he wouldn't be. And yet...it was still kind of nice, in a way.
"You're right, you just couldn't pull them off like I can." Rivyn fluffed up his feathered collar and walked away with a light hearted guffaw, pausing only once to look over his shoulder. "I'd love to chat more, really I would, but I need to be stage ready soon. We'll have to talk later." The larger man disappeared down a short hallway, and moments later, a door clicked shut.
Once he was gone it felt as if the exhaustion of her trip had doubled. Dealing with Rivyn could be taxing on a good day, but when she'd barely had any sleep? It was positively criminal.
"For the record....I think you'd look nice in feathers. Just maybe not so many...or as bright."

Uquin had come to expect that emphatic agreement from her; he wasn't disappointed. His smirk broadened into a real smile, that only shifted into a soft rumble of laughter as Rivyn dismissed them. "Of course; don't let us keep you." He agreed, waiting until Rivyn had disappeared before his shoulders drooped, and he helplessly slumped sideways into Maritza, curling an arm around her middle boldly. "Spirits, please-- don't - I don't think I could handle it." he sighed, stifling a soft laugh into her shoulder - tempted to kiss the crystals there, only exaggerated by the flush that still stuck to her skin.
Instead, he lifted his head again. "Quickly, let's move before he comes back."

"I would say it's easier to handle with time, but he grows stronger with each passing year." She leaned against him easily, taking a moment to just enjoy it. At the very least Rivyn would be preoccupied for the rest of the night, which left the two of them alone...to sleep.
Patting his arm, Maritza moved out of his hold and picked up her bag once again. "Come on, our rooms this way." She led the way down the tiny, little hallway into a modestly sized room with sparse decoration. There were a few half finished projects sitting on various locations around the room, as well as strewn about clothing that hadn't been picked up in quite possibly a year. If she cared about the mess she didn't show it. As soon as Maritza opened the door she threw her bag to the other side of the room, and started to slip out of her shoes.
The only thing she had on her mind for the rest of the evening was rest, and tomorrow....well, tomorrow she would give Uquin the 'grand tour' if he wanted. Or just put in him contact with a variety of healers, whichever he preferred.
All of that was for another day.
