Every movement held his life flashing before his eyes. The Shifter kept himself busy making up new curses as he slowly trudged through the frigid water. At least the cold was numbing any pain he had felt earlier in his aching legs. The thought almost made him chuckle. Spirits what a day.
He was so thankful to finally reach shore that he nearly collapsed but the dire situation kept him standing....well leaning towards Sylvirah. It took all of his willpower to just not collapse on the iceling girl, "Sounds good." He mumbled with a nod, his voice chattering a little, "I uh...may have insulted a few of their mothers, stabbed a couple of their arms and let some merchants get away. I mean I don't know why that would make them soooo upset, but here we are." He turned so that Sylvirah could see the back of his upper arm, "Is it deep or can we just rip it out?" He didn't want the arrowhead to break in his arm but it was in the right position that he couldn't really test it out himself. Here was hoping that he could get away with only tearing a little flesh or they would have to break the shaft and just jam it through his whole upper arm. Either way Zyphire was prepared for whenever that moment would happen. It wasn't his first dance with arrows after all.

[9/10]
Sylvirah reached out to gingerly keep him upright, all the while taking stock of his features. He was getting paler by the moment, and by the look of that shivering....Goddess, she needed to get him to a cave and a fire fast.
"I can't imagine why they would be mad at you." She didn't know what she expected, but that answer caught her off guard. Maybe she had thought he'd gotten in a fight with old comrades? He had been trying to run off with her prey, after all, so the thought of him being an ex-bandit wasn't such a ridiculous one. Apparently he was being helpful though, and that...made her want to help him more.
Once she was sure he wouldn't simply fall over, Sylvirah looked at the wound. The huntress grimaced. "This is going to hurt." Without any preamble, she touched the effected area with her fingers, prodding the skin as carefully as she could to get a feel on it. "It's deep, but I think if I break the shaft I can push it straight through." The severity of it would explain his blood loss, but thankfully the wound didn't look TOO damaging. Maybe a few weeks bandaged, possibly in a sling, but other than that he should heal just fine.

Zyphire found a soft chuckle escaping his lips at her reply. At least she seemed to have a little humor, right? His gaze flickered back towards the river warily. While they were talking time was burning, what if they were still being pursued? Tsk. What a pain. His gaze went back to Sylvirah and the Shifter had to hold back a small gasp of pain. " Noted." He managed quietly, " Then let's get it through with and toss the arrow into the river so it washes down the shoreline. We can head up away from the current." Hopefully there were some caves up along that way. He had been through those cliffs before and vaguely recalled some being there. Now he just had to brace himself for the burning pain that Sylvirah was going to inflict upon him by getting that arrow out. Strangely enough he trusted the girl. She had risked her own neck for him after all.

[10/10]
Sylvirah steeled herself with a nod and slipped off her right glove. The bitter wind cut into her bare flesh, but in order to do what needed to be done she would need to be as dexterous as possible.
Using the shaft as a catalyst, Sylvirah shoved the arrow through solid muscle and tendon until it punctured flesh on the other side. She wasn't unused to a fight when it game to gutting a fresh kill, but this...inflicting such pain on a living person...it felt wrong. Still, she never stopped until she felt his flesh give way, and once it had she braced her hands to snap the arrow in half. With a flick of her hand she tossed the ruined fletching into the river, then reached around to finish pulling the arrow head out, then just as quickly disposed of it.
Sylvirah tore several more strips away from her shirt to use as added bandaging. Two pieces she bunched up and places on the entry points to add pressure, while the rest were used to wrap around the effected area. It may have looked crude, but the technique was perfected after years of living in the Zenan wilderness.
"Just don't pass out on me, okay? At least wait until I'm done."

Oh yeah that was pain.
Zyphire grit his teeth, almost wishing he had placed a piece of leather or anything in his mouth, and tried his best to not let out any noise of pain. He had endured far worse than this and his firm stance would attest to it. Did it make him want to whine any less? Definitely not, but since they were in a situation right now he could save the whining for later.
And then finally the job was done. Agony made his arm throb and he could feel the blood as it pooled around the fresh wound, "Don't worry. I'll pass out when we're safe." He promised lightly, "Just....don't think I'm dead and leave me. I'll be so pale." Not from the blood loss but from the rising moon, but he would explain that more to her later. It would be easier to explain when he wasn't losing focus from the blood loss. Thankfully the iceling girl seemed to know what she was doing with the bandages and Zyphire found himself relying on her more and more.
"Against the cliffs should be a cave." He managed quietly. When she finished with his bandages they would trek that way and take shelter for the night. He could then get to the nearest village and try to find a healer to fix up his arm. Zyphire's thoughts halted as he glanced towards Sylvirah. He definitely owed the huntress a thank you and would make certain that they would meet again in the future. Hopefully next time that they met someone or something wouldn't be trying to kill him.

He handled the agony far better than Sylvirah imagined. It made the process easier on her nerves, but the feel of fresh blood on her fingers....At least it was warm.
Without washing her fingers, Sylvirah slipped her glove back on and prepared for the hike ahead. The feel of blood against the leather was uncomfortable, but not nearly as bad as it would be if she'd washed her fingers in the river. No amount of cloth would have been able to save them then.
Determined as she was, she prepared herself once more to lift him, and did so with less vigor than before. He likely wouldn't appreciate it, but Zyphire could just argue later; right now they needed a place to rest and if his directions were anything to go on, then it wouldn't be long.
Once the iceling had secured her load, she started her trek anew in the evening snow.
