Yes, well. Padma was equally distracted by her attractive companion - he'd grown, quite a bit, in the years since they'd last seen one another, and only her focus on keeping him well helped her to resist staring at him, glistening as he was. So - with that train of thought, she was oozing gratitude when he offered her dry furs, not only for her privacy's sake but also because now that they were here it was apparent just how cold she was!
Together, they shuffled closer, heads bowed over his wound - the bleeding was slowing, but it still looked horribly painful. Padma hoped that he understood as much of her language as she hoped he did, because otherwise she didn't fancy how a feral man would react to what she would do next. She pulled open her bag and unstopped a plugged vial of a turmeric paste, keeping it pinched between her knees for when she would need it. Instead she pulled out her water skin and poured a small amount of the wound to clean the blood away, holding a bone needle between her lips as she pulled a line through it. "There- this will hurt a bit, but I wouldn't hurt you for no reason. So..." Padma exhaled shakily, then slowly lined up the needle, watching him for a moment to see if he would shove her back.
The actual suture was easy - no more than three, and that was enough. She quickly tied it off and clipped the line, then spread the salve over it, and the other scratches. Her bandages had become soggy from the rain, so she would have to pass on wrapping them - that would only lead to more trouble down the line, according to her father's words.
"Okay..." She breathed, gently holding his arm, trailing the fingertips of her opposite hand around the flushed skin, biting her lip. " I think... that will be fine. Spirits, I hope you don't get an infection, I don't want to think about what sorts of poisons a monster's bite could hold..."

Uzumati was honestly lost with Padma so close. In the confines of the hollow tree he could easily pick out how she smelled, her scent foreign against the usual musty smell of the ancient tree. The way she breathed, a slight hitch here and there, the softness of her voice as it floated towards him....it was definitely his flower from that time so long ago. Uzumati studied her carefully, his emerald gaze not leaving her even as she moved through the strange bag and started pulling out supplies. He wanted to memorize every feature just in case she would be gone in the morning like some dream.
Of course it was a lot easier to study her whenever there wasn't a needle going through his arm.
The sudden piercing pain almost brought a whine to his throat but the man managed to swallow the noise, his fists clenched tightly against the pain. All of his instincts screamed at him to run, to fight back against the source of his pain but whenever his blurry gaze focused on Padma he found himself calming down. She was helping him. He knew that. He just had to focus on remembering that she was the one who had helped to fight off the witu and that surely she knew what she was doing here. The sudden cold of the salve against his skin made his back tighten even more but just like that it was over with. Uzumati found himself relaxing, the only tension in his arm as the girl's fingers trailed across his skin. He had never let another person touch him so and it was strangely not unwelcome. She also seemed so nervous about things...Uzumati was not one to speak often but he was not deaf.
Ever so slowly he took his other hand and gently laid it on top of Padma's hand that was resting against his arm. His gaze steady, the faintest hint of a reassuring smile on his lips, Uzumati moved her hands across his bare chest and upper arms. There were faded scars there some recent and he wanted to show her that he had been hit before and would be okay this time as well. It was an innocent enough gesture in his mind yet his flushed cheeks were not simply from the burning pain in his arm.

Uzumati tensed up, but Padma continued - and when she finished, he was clearly feeling the discomfort, but... hadn't jerked away like she had feared he would. Thankfully, eventually he began to relax, and... the severe look he'd seemed to be wearing since they'd stumbled into one another in the storm had shifted into something... softer. Sweeter. Padma blinked as her hands were taken, her gaze following where he was moving them - oh spirits!! What was he doing?!
Padma flushed pink and almost pulled her hands away, but somehow she resisted - and instead shifted his fingertips to trace the scars he was showing her, realizing after a long, distracted moment exactly what he was trying to say. But... well - there was only so long as she could stare at him like this, before she started to feel guilty. Instead she lifted her eyes to his face again, taking solace in that reassuring smile.
"I'm glad you're so confident - when it bit you I was so worried...!" She admitted, shifting her hands so she was holding his, instead of ... er... being encouraged to fondle his muscles. "Thank you - for letting me stay here with you...! This is the last place I expected to meet you again but... I'm so glad- you saved me out there! And you're okay now, so-" She exhaled, then remembered how cold it was. Reluctantly, she released her grip on him so she could, instead, tug the fur up over herself a bit more, tucking her legs under her, shivering.(9/10)

Uzumati's gaze never left Padma's as she spoke. A warmth spread through his chest as she admitted to being worried about him. A smile threatened to spread across his features before she let go of his hands. Immediately Uzumati closed his hands, almost as if cherishing the warmth of her touch, before he glanced back up from his hands to study Padma. Was the flower shivering? Every movement was noted by Uzumati before he shifted around. Pulling some more furs from the makeshift den, the male tucked them around Padma and gently nudged her to lay down. It was still storming outside and they would probably be forced to spend the night together here.
It was natural that they should try to stay as warm as possible. The thought made Uzumati pause before he finally gathered the courage to move closer to his companion and curl up around her. He had body heat and he didn't want to see her shiver anymore. Surely if he was there with the furs that would help her. Just as she worried about him getting infections, he worried about her getting sick. As he nestled around her, Uzumati felt his eyelids dropping from exhaustion. Between the ache in his body from the earlier fight and the pain thudding in his ears the man was beat.
And so he curled around the one thing that gave him comfort and warmth. Against the melody of the rain which was still pouring outside, a rough voice quietly whispered from the pile of furs, "Thanks...flower." His head dropping Uzumati left an arm around Padma before falling asleep to the sounds of the storm.

Okay... Padma had to admit, she flushed a bright pink as he moved closer, but somehow stayed still, and once the furs had been laid out and he had settled against her, she had to admit that she felt much more comfortable. Her father would be having a stroke right now if he knew she was half naked and this close with a man, but Uzumati was right - this was about staying warm. And she was so much warmer. With the soft tempo of his breath behind her, Padma closed her eyes and relaxed, curling a bit into the warmth of the furs - and as she drifted off, it was only distantly that she realized his soft words weren't just fond dreams, and were actually real.
