Dinner, of course, was the most gourmet of gourmet. Izzy slaved over a flaming microwave, and elegantly poured two glasses of the finest fruit punch he could manage to acquire in the short time Toby was in the shower. Since he was a little pressed for time, he couldn’t make the fancy picnic he wanted, but hey, he could manage to decorate a serving tray with a flower stolen from the vase in the kitchen, and arrange a big ol’ serving of bagel bites in the formation of a heart. That’s what people did when they dated, right? Spew lots and lots of hearts everywhere. With the tray on the bed, he plopped down on it too, and started flicking through Netflix, wondering if there was a movie they could watch while they ate.

Toby surveyed the feast with a grin. "I like the heart," he said. "And where'd that flower come from?" He scooped up a bagel bite and bit it. Being freshly microwaved, it was, of course, like a little ball of lava. "Ack! Hot!" he declared, and blew on the offending piece. "Thanks for the food," he added, after blowing on it a bit.

"I know, right? The classiest of classy, the most shapely of the bagel bites picked out just for you! And the flower, I stole out of a vase in the living room. It's fine." Even if the whole relationship thing was a little confusing, and new, and weird, the flattery came easy. It was something he had always done, from the moment he decided that Toby was someone worth being around. That really didn't have to change now that they were dating, did it? "Dude, when was the last time you ate something like this, goin' around burning the hell out of yourself like that!" Izzy picked up one of the glasses and pushed it into Toby's hand, surprisingly worried for someone who also tired not to care too much. "Save some tastesbuds for later!"

“You know,” he said, and then took a quaff of the offered drink, “I don’t eat it all that often, weirdly enough. Still...I shoulda known better, you’re right.” He took another drink, blew on the thing again, and then took a small bite. Still hot, but not so bad in small bits. “I’m sure I can keep a tastebud or two around for whatever you might have in store,” he replied with a smirk. “Thanks for worrying, though~”

“It’s not the healthiest thing out there, so I don’t blame you for ruining your tongue.” Only his older sister ate those things on hard mode, shoving them into her gullet with precision and what he definitely couldn’t describe as grace. One day Toby would meet her. It would be a fun day indeed. Not tonight though, Toby was his and his alone tonight. “... What’s with the smirk? What the heck are you thinking? Should I be worried?”

"Well," Toby replied, still grinning, "The amount you worry is really endearing, that's all." The piece in hand got eaten then. Still hot. He made a face. But it was eaten. "And that makes me happy, ya know!" "Of course, I'm always plotting something. I gotta be to keep up with your dastardly plots~" He laughed at that, and picked up another bit of food.

"Heh! It's wonder you fell for me, huh?" Although he swore he was nothing but confident, his ears gave him away. "Of course of course of course, but what are the plans? You're not plotting against me?"

"Well, they wouldn't be very good secret plots if I told you about them, would they?" Toby responded before chomping another bagel bite. "But nahh, never against you!" He shook his head. "That wouldn't be cool at all."

"Oh come on! What's the point of keeping secrets from me anyway? I'm your best friend after all! And you know, best friends are supposed to share everything!" In a moment of very slight annoyance, Izzy grabbed the plate and pulled them away. "Come ooooon, what do you have to lose from telling me anything anyway?"

"Okay, fine," Toby replied, slumping back a little. "My dastardly plot was plotting to think of a plot." He stuck his tongue out briefly, and smiled. "I just don't have one...not yet, anyway." A shrug. "I thought I'd be able to come up with something off the cuff, but, it didn't work." He balled a fist. "Blast! Foiled again!"

“Have I ever told you you were weird? Cuz you really are. No proper, smart antagonist would ever reveal their diabolical plans to the world! Not until you’re this close to pressing that button!” Izzy put his fingers together, trying to get them to be a sliver apart, but simply having them closed instead. “And besides, you’re too nice to be dastardly. Or a bad guy. You can be my partner instead, the like.... Good conscious that’s makes sure I don’t go super, hard-core evil. How’s that sound? Good? Good! Now hurry up and eat, so we can play some games, I don’t like greased fingers on my switch controllers!”

“Supervillain’s sidekick, huh?” Toby asked with a laugh. “Sure, ok. I’ll make sure you don’t burn anything down that doesn’t need burning down.” Lawful Good, Toby was not. Though he certainly could seem like he was, at times. “Well, could just dunk the whole controller in cheese grease, then there’d be no reason to worry about getting more on ‘em!” He wasn’t serious, but he did laugh at his own suggestion, with a poorly done evil laugh. All the same, though, he finished up his food pretty quick, and after cleaning up his hands, was quite ready to play games long into the night.

"Okay good! But then again, we're partners now too, so... Nah, we'll just burn down all the burnable stuff, but no cheese. Please, I don't want mozzarella game sticks!" With all the food gone, he quickly cleaned everything up, and then got cozy next to Toby, ready to kick his but at all the games! Soon enough, he could feel his eyes growing heavy, the screen feeling more and more blurred as time went on. "Well, Toby, it's time for bed. Go brush your teeth while I get the bed ready! There's an extra toothbrush in the medicine cabinet."

All things considered, Toby didn't actually play video games all that often...so him usually winning before was kind of a fluke. Still, he wasn't a bad player. "Mm, already?" Toby asked, leaning back and tapping on his phone to see the time. "Huh, yeah, guess it is..." He set the controller aside and stood up, taking a big arms in the air stretch. "mmm..." The amount of time he spent jumping across rooftops was good for him, definitely, although it made sitting playing games feel... strange somehow. Nice, though. "You think of everything, huh?" he asked with a smirk, then did as suggested and went off to brush his teeth. Some time later he returned and said, "Don't think I've ever brushed my teeth with a hot pink toothbrush before. Worked just as well, though."

After Toby left the bedroom, Izzy got to work. Fixing the bed, getting some extra pillows, making sure there wasn't a particularly nosy cat looming outside his window. All of that seemed good, so by the time Toby returned, he was lounging around. "Welcome back! Pink is amazing, by the way. I went to the kitchen to brush my teeth, so that I could be back to greet you like this!" He was under the sheets, cozied up against the wall. After a second to grin, he lifted up the blankets to welcome Toby into bed with him. "It's Chilly, so hurry up, hit the lights, and get on over here!"
