"It's... Certainly a lot to take in, I'm sure." Brioche could not blame him for the confusion, exhaustion, and perhaps a little frustration from the night. Luckily, the man was smarter than the average child other Mauvian's tended to awaken, and knew the value of a safe house verses exposure on the street.

"A-ah, yes, well, just think of being your usual self, and you shall change back. Interestingly enough, as you are, no one can recognize you as your normal Human self. This uniform, for all its outlandishness, works as a disguise, so your identity is safe. I hope that makes things a little better for you."

"Yeah but I still don't think I could explain who I was if I turned up on my doorstep," he laughed. His neighbours were fairly nosy, it was one of those neighbourhoods that looked out for each other but that did mean the little old ladies tended to know everything...including the name of the first born child you didn't even have yet. To be fair, they were probably oracles who knew which woman he'd end up marrying as well, he wouldn't put it passed them.

"And I'm relatively certain my keys aren't in these pockets," he continued, glancing down momentarily to check if this particular 'costume' had any pockets. He came to realise that they didn't, which made him question where he had actually put that weird little pen thing from earlier.

Still, he was capable of following instructions and with a deep and drawn out breath her settled himself back in to his usual self. It didn't take as long as he thought it was either, no sooner had he fixed his mind on pursuing a more 'normal' form than he could feel the familiar weight of his belt and that sound that came with it. That, however, did make him freeze for a brief moment as his hands shot up to the belt to check he hadn't left anything behind.

...Something in his psyche had saved his skin there as a certain device was in place that absolutely couldn't be abandoned.

He relaxed at that and kept walking.

"You'd think I'd take the talking cat thing a whole less well," he added and pursed his lips. "All things considered I'm doing remarkably well," he acknowledged. Maybe he really had seen enough s**t that some things just didn't surprise him anymore, no matter how outlandish these things might seem.

Fortunately it wasn't long before they were in a more pleasant area of town, and with it, another set of rather pretty and trimmed roads. While he didn't exactly live in the Homeowner Association of town, he certainly seemed to be in a place where people did care about keeping their yards in some order. Sure, everywhere wasn't perfect, but the gardens were reasonably clean and maintained enough to give the place a quaint feel.

"I suppose I should ask if there's anything specific I should know but based on our current location I'd suggest we head inside first or else the entire street will find out my new secret within five minutes."

"I think, perhaps, the reason you are taking this well is because of your age. I'm certain you've been around long enough to see the things that happen in the city. Monsters where bullets do not work, people who are dead, yet have no trauma. An underlying sense that something just isn't right. And you have seen enough of these things that when you can find something that makes all those incidents somewhat more probably, you're willing to more readily accept what otherwise would be nonsense." Or at the very least, that's what Brioche could reason himself.

Why else would he be so calm?

Soon enough their surroundings became far more pleasant, and he could feel the tension leave his shoulders finally. It was about time he relaxed.

"Yes, lets. I.. Please excuse me. I am not the most... clean of cats, given I live on the streets for the most part. I apologize for any dirt I may track in."

"I wouldn't worry about it, you should see my boots when I've come back from certain places," Regula smiled and offered a dismissive wave of his hand, there were worse things that Brioche could be traipsing in, but the man did have to wonder what it might be like to have this level of intelligence and be required to live outside.

Wasn't it cold, uncomfortable, lonely?

Regula knew better than to put words in to other people's mouths but when it came to himself he wasn't so sure he'd be happy in that state, if he knew he was capable of getting home comforts then he'd have attempted to do it. Alas, perhaps Brioche preferred that measure of freedom... he'd met plenty of humans in his line of work who could have found shelter and had been clear on their thoughts, they liked being outside.

"And I suppose there's certainly something to your musings," he added, turning another corner to approach his own home where he spent some time fishing for his keys in his belt. He had seen a fair chunk, but now that Brioche mentioned it, there were some things that had happened in his life that did make far more sense now. Pieces of the puzzle were falling together even if he found them a touch bizarre and fantastical.

"Either that or I'm going to have a minor breakdown after you've left me to my own inner thoughts," he chuckled and pushed open the door, an immediate blast of heat greeting him. In the fresh spring night it was a bit more welcome to him now that he'd had time to come down from the adrenaline high.

"After you."

”If you are certain, then I am truly grateful for your hospitality. It’s a kindness rarely given to one like myself.” Which, technically, was true. To most others, he was a simple stray who peered into windows late at night, gazing longingly at food left out, or store shops that continued to display things that made his stomach grumble.

“I’d... very much not leave you on your own tonight. I try to make it a policy to keep company with whoever I am forced to awaken. It’s not fair to simply leave them on their own, especially on that first night. So many have been lost to neglect... Wandering around, hoping for an answer as to why we fight, or why they were forced into this. I want to make sure you have as much of an education on this as I can offer, as well as providing you my own contact information, in case you have further inquires.” Now that the door was open, Brioche almost audibly sighed in relief. They were finally safe.

Homes seemed to almost be a forbidden space for the Negaverse. It may be a simple wooden door, but to him, it was an ironclad gate that could keep the horrors of the night away.

... Perhaps for once, tonight, he could manage to Rest In Peace as well, before returning to the streets.

“Thank you. Is there a particular place you’d like to sit to talk? Ah, perhaps you should go wash up first, or eat something. I heard tea could help the nerves.”

"If you hadn't woke me up then it would be safe to assume I'd probably be dead by now," Regula stated as he stepped inside and closed the door. Whether he liked the idea of being some sort of magical entity was another topic, but when the chips were down Brioche had done what was necessary to save his life. 'Forced' while probably the right word, it didn't feel right to Regula to use it... When you were between a rock and a hard place the most difficult decision was often the right one.

Brioche did seem to have some lingering issues with the role he personally played in all this though. Regula may not have understood it yet, but perhaps in time he would grow to learn why the Mauvian had some reservations and almost seemed apologetic about his duties.

"I'll get cleaned up first though," he added and waved his hand towards the fridge. "You can help yourself to whatever's in there," he continued with a smile. Admittedly Brioche might not find any amazingly sweet snacks in there but he might find some of the new senshi's guilty pleasures. Either that, or Brioche could help himself to the vegetables if he felt so inclined!

"After that you can uh... Introduce me to what I've just stumbled in to," he finished. How he'd react to the reality of his new circumstance remained to be seen, but he did seem to be taking it well so far. The concept of protecting people wasn't entirely foreign to him though so maybe Brioche's briefing later would go down better with him than others... This wouldn't be anything new to him right, this was something he did already.

...Just with magic.

Lots of magic.

Regula had already disappeared in to the other room to make himself more presentable, leaving Brioche very much to his own devices in the process. For the time being the Mauvian definitely seemed to have the run of the house!
