Aya nearly jumped out of his skin at the scream that suddenly broke through the silence of the bookshop. It sounded vaguely familiar. Almost as if it came from a certain blond and tanned Gehaka. In fact, Aya had a bad feeling about this.
Without giving the situation any further thought, the red-haired Haka started in the direction that he had seen Toshi hurried off to awhile ago, the Gehaka's book now tucked safely within his kimono. Not caring for once that he was in the Yakume Shoten and not in his own shop. Not paying heed to the fact that he was actually wandering around in the bookshop and into a part of it that was out of bounds to everyone save for its own staff members.
With his ears still twitching this way and that, Aya stopped at the entrance to the kitchen, pools of violet surveying the scene that greeted him as he tried his utmost to keep a tighter rein on his own emotions that were threatening to overwhelm him anytime.
Spotting Toshi in the far corner, Aya released the breath that he didn't know that he had been holding, a wry smile on his face as he began to make his way gradually into the kitchen.
"Toshi..? What happened..?"

Toshi jumped when Aya's voice came, and he gave the haka a guilty look. "Please be careful back here." he said gently, nodding his head towards the spilled tea on the floor. "The liquid is hot." How horribly embarassing. Really. The 18-year old smiled at the haka, in a very self-deprecating manner. "I was being silly, and forgot to grab a pad before I grabbed the tea kettle." he said finally. Burn status: Badly blistered. Darnit! Toshi lifted his hand carefully out of the water, moving towards the cabinet. The burn was still hot, he'd have to submerge it for longer, but now he needed the ointment and clean bandages kept in the sink for accidents.

The red-haired Haka had stopped his advance further into the kitchen at Toshi's good-natured warning, his head dipping slightly at the same instant in the customary action of indicating his thanks towards the winged male.
An accident. Nothing more or less. Aya kept repeating to himself in his mind, somehow knowing deep down that the reassurance was very much needed if he was to soothe his already frayed nerves.
Spying the cornflower coloured hair Gehaka making his way towards the nearby cabinet, the young Haka gingerly made his way across the kitchen to intercept him, violet eyes narrowing slightly at the sight of the many blisters on Toshi's burnt hand. That had to really hurt. A lot. It made him wonder briefly if this injury was something that they could handle. Whether they needed to get the tanned Gehaka to a physician so that his hand could be properly looked after.
"... Let me help you. Tell me what you need and where I can find them..."
Aya tried to manage in as impassive a tone as he could summon, violet orbs gazing deeply into Toshi's own. Almost as if daring him to be stubborn and try to refuse his offer.

Toshi blinked stupidly at the haka for a moment. Eh? That was quite possibly the meanest offer of help he'd ever gotten. He started laughing, gazing down at the haka in obvious surprise. How refreshing. He turned on one heel, dunking his hand back in the sink. "The bandages are above the stove, Aya-sama." he said, eyes laughing, and a small smile on his face. "I'll need a roll of clean gauze, and some of the ointment in there. A small white tube, clearly marked for burns."
The haka wanted to help, and Toshi wasn't going to turn down the chance for assistance. Trying to bandange his own hand (the dominant one too!) would have been a chore.

Aya's face had broken out into a wry smile the moment Toshi had turned away, the tanned Gehaka's acceptance of his offer to help evident when he next gave him directions with regards to what he needed. Apparantly he wasn't the only one who had noticed that he was over-reacting here. He was concerned. Yes. But maybe he could have phrased his earlier words a little better.
The violet-eyed Haka mused inwardly to himself as he went about retrieving the items that he would need, all the while mindful of the spilt amber liquid on the ground that Toshi had already warned him about.
Bracing himself for the task at hand, Aya made his way to Toshi's side, a sombre expression on his face as he set the bandages, gauze and tube of ointment on a nearby shelf. The Fujimiya clan Haka's mind was set. If Toshi's injury warranted a trip to the physician, Aya was going to haul him there somehow with his own hands. Nothing was going to stand in his way.
"... does it still hurt..?"

The yellow-haired gehaka eyed his redheaded companion out of the corner of his eye as the other male came over with the bandages in hand. He kept an attentive eye on where the other male stepped- that way, if he slipped, Toshi would be able to catch him. He noted the order in which the haka set the items on the shelf, and pulled his hand out of the chill water. "A bit." he said ruefully. It had blistered immediately, but not badly enough that the blisters couldn't get larger. He'd say it was a heavy first-degree burn, or a light to medium second-degree burn. Shoot. The bandages wouldn't be such a great idea after all, except to keep it clean. Burns needed to breathe, he remembered. maybe a light dressing of the burn ointment, and then he'd... well, his palm and fingerpads were what was burned, he didn't know how 'bandaged' that could be. He smiled warmly at the violet-eyed male. "Thank you." he said, nodding at the supplies. His hand still felt a bit warm, so he dunked it back into the cool water with a sigh.

It was times like these that Aya hated himself for his own lack of knowledge. Granted that he knew everything his mother had taught him from how to run the jewelry shop to managing the entire household, but to not know simple first aid skills which might come in handy in this sort of situation. Aya had to really wonder if fate was trying to play a cruel joke on him or something along that line.
He still had his wits about him though and that should probably serve him well provided that he maintained his cool. The red-haired Haka decided in the end as he rolled back the sleeves of his kimono before dipping his hands into the sink so as to rid them of any potentially harmful bacteria that might infect Toshi's wound. He would rather die than admit his lack of knowledge to anyone. Not even Itsuki.
"Let me have a look first. If it hurts a lot at any point, tell me and I'll stop..."
Aya spoke quietly as violet orbs met Toshi's amber ones yet again, this time however with a softer look that betrayed part of his own underlying emotions as he gently tugged at the Gehaka's forearm in an attempt to emphasize his point.

Toshi smiled down at Aya. So. CUTE! He obediently held out his arm. "It doesn't hurt really anymore." he said calmly. ((off to bed))

Aya smiled softly at Toshi for his compliance with his instructions. The blond Gehaka was being wonderfully co-operative the entire time, trusting him to know what he was doing and allowing him to help. The least he could probably do at this point was to not cause the poor winged male any more harm than all the pain that he had been through as a result of his recent accident.
Aya thought quietly to himself as he took a closer look at the wound. It was probably a blessing in disguise that the burn was only limited to the superficial aspect of the skin as well as part of the palm and fingerpads. Something that they should perhaps be able to handle without the need to see a physician.
The red-haired Haka concluded to himself as he gently pressed on the wound at various random points next, eyes trained intently on Toshi's expression the entire time so as to ascertain which parts hurt and how much force he should use in order to minimise any further discomfort to the already traumatised Gehaka.

Toshi relaxed, almost finding the haka's light touch... enjoyable. If it wasn't for the fact that he was pressing directly on the burn. Can we say owwww? But he kept his face trained to the careful neutrality he'd been taught. No sense scaring the haka into thinking it was more than just the fact that his hands were pressing directly on raw skin! He waited patiently for a moment, letting the haka assure himself everything was fine. "I'll be alright, Aya-sama." his eyes were almost laughing, and he finally gently pulled his hand away. "It isn't too bad. I'll just have to be careful with it when I'm working." he gave a warm smile, and bent to lift up the fallen teapot with the other hand. It was cooled by this point, so he could safetly lift it.
The blonde pushed back his hair with his free hand and grabbed some towels, kneeling down to start mopping up the hot tea.

Taking a step back so that he would not be in Toshi's way while said Gehaka busied himself with the cleaning, Aya took a deep breath in an attempt to compose himself.
That was it? He hadn't done much. That was for sure unless one counted his random poking at Toshi's wound earlier as something significant. Then again, the red-haired Haka would certainly beg to differ.
Aya wanted to do more. Maybe... just maybe Toshi had actually managed to see through his earlier act and decided that he shouldn't trust his ignorance lest he did more harm than he had intended to. Violet orbs gazed sullenly at the tanned Gehaka for awhile longer before turning to stare at the kitchen floor. Whatever had he been thinking? He wasn't needed here...
"... aren't you doing to dress it or something..?"

Toshi smiled up at the redhead, already opening his mouth to speak when he saw the sullen look on Aya's face. Oh no, he'd made him angry! The happy-gentle look on Toshi's face turned wide-eyed and apologetic, and his ears fell back against the top of his head. What had he done? Had he been too friendly? Had the haka seen that he was enjoying the contact with him? Had the haka remembered the... physical liberties Toshi had taken with kissing his person that morning...? "Ay- umm... Fujimiya-sama...?" his voice was hesitant. Toshi glanced at his hand. Bandage it...? "N-no, Aya-sama.... my fathers used to t-tell me that burns n-needed to breathe. And I didn't see the use of g-going ahead and putting on the ointment if I was j-just going to get it wet again." His foice was hesitant and stammery, and he was desperately thinking of ways to make the haka stop looking so angry. And he really didn't figure the offer of a cup of tea would help the situation.

It was probably a good thing that Toshi had figured on his own accord that offering Aya a cup of tea was not going to help the present situation any.
Not that the Haka would yell at him if he did that though. Aya was just so... overwhelmed at the moment that he simply wasn't in any mood to eat or drink anything. Not even a cup of his favourite tea.
"I... I see..."
He really had to thank whichever lucky star was watching over Toshi for what he had just shared with him with regards to managing a burn injury. Had he insisted on what he had in mind just awhile ago, he might have done exactly what he had been trying to avoid in the first place. Doing more harm than good.
Padding his way over to where the Gehaka stood, Aya smiled wryly at Toshi as he raised one hand to gently ruffle his hair. This certainly wasn't a look that suited someone like him.
In fact, everything seemed to be going downhill ever since he had offered to help. There was no doubt in his mind right now that Toshi had seen through his earlier act. Some help he was being huh?
"I'm okie..."

Toshi nodded, quietly tilting his head into Aya's hand. Goodness, he felt like a puppy, but he couldn't complain. He enjoyed Aya's touch, something surprising really. He wasn't very social, and it was strange that he was so easily accepting of Aya. He wasn't surprised the haka didn't know that much about things like this. Not many haka would. And though he couldn't place Aya by family name, the clothes he was wearing... Aya was obviously a haka of some status. He couldn't be expected to know things like that. Toshi really didn't know what to do at this point. Should he continue cleaning? Or... this was the kind of inner trouble he'd never had before. The training manuals didn't teach this. And neither had his parents.

Seeing that Toshi wasn't pulling away from his touch and was on the contrary quietly accepting it, Aya bit on his lower lip a little and slid his hand down to gently cup the side of Toshi's face, his thumb lightly tracing the Gehaka's cheekbone at the same instant.
Something wasn't quite right here. He had tried to cover up his lack of knowledge in something and failed miserably at it, and not only wasn't Toshi rejecting him, but he was enjoying his company instead. This was most queer indeed.
It was after much reluctance that Aya finally withdrew his hand to smile lightly at Toshi. He didn't quite understand it but something seemed to have lifted within his own heart and that had made his mood improve considerably.
"... would you need any help dressing it later then..?"
