“Those ideas don’t sound boring to me.” Puzzles were often relaxing, that is until you get to the last few pieces for it to be complete only to realize that the last one is missing. However, with his paws, she wondered if Wolframite would have a hard time picking up the pieces; he could always use glamour but that would be a waste of his energy.
Laven tested her weight on another step. It groaned loudly in protest so she overreached and tried for the one after that. That one held and so did the next one. Her meticulous planning and careful footsteps were key in helping her get to the second floor.
“Honestly, the only times I was ever really
stuck at home was when I was sick. In which case I would either be sleeping, maybe reading a book,” some cheesy romance novel that was easy to predict. “Otherwise I’d watch some movies. “
“I never really let the weather be a reason to keep me inside.” Unless there was a lightning storm. She was a child of water even before becoming a half youma and even she knew to fear something that opposed her very nature. “Sometimes it is fun to cook something new or find some DIY project on Facebook or Youtube.” It’s how she learned how to make a mold use epoxy.
Dust coated shards of glass littered the hardwood hallway as if someone had intentionally taken a stone and thrown it through the window. Thankfully she wore shoes instead of sandals and if her uniform got ripped then it could easily be repaired as opposed to her wetsuits that were currently in storage.
“Give me one moment, I’m going to check this room.”
When she stepped inside, Laven noticed a dresser tipped over on its side and beside it was a broken jewelry box. An old wooden one with the clasp on front ripped from the hinges.
There really wasn't much there in the way of treasure though, a locket with a few rings spilled on the ground beside it and when Laven took a step further into the room, the boards beneath her feet groaned in protest. She paused, half expecting them to give way and send her tumbling through to the next floor but after a few seconds of silence it seemed like the thing would hold.
Carefully, and slowly, she proceeded to lean over and pick up the box. "I think I found the other pairs, to my earrings" She shouted towards the doorway. "Whomever they once belonged to must have been close..." Laven mused to herself as she made her way downstairs to offer them to Wolframite since a second pair would be kind of silly to have.
