"Mm." Mostly as he'd expected, then. Just some dark apparition. A space goddess capable of afflicting others with the forces of chaos and using it to manipulate them... He'd heard someone say their mission was for the good of the planet. Eradicating senshi would keep Earth safe. Rakovanite severely doubted it. Surely no fool believed any such lies, when their abilities were literally fueled by chaos and death.
Even dog boy, loyal slave that he was, shuddered at the thought of whatever power dwelled deep within the castle.
Rakovanite had to wonder what the emotion behind the response was. Fear? Disgust? "Are you concerned over such things?" He questioned lightly as they continued on. Much of the castle was set up as a business space, with offices for generals and computer labs for anyone else to access the database and a few scattered tech rooms for the Mauvians.
It was organized, and Rakovanite wasn't sure he'd been expecting that... Admittedly, he wasn't sure exactly what he'd been accepting. December hadn't mentioned much about Negaspace. His focus seemed mostly on the people. Which was one of Rakovanite's least favorite subjects. "I wait with bated breath for 'next time.'"

He wasn't sure exactly what Rak was asking him. "Over Metallia? Why wouldn't I be concerned? I'm not in their good favor." He said, moving as he did past the general offices, lab rooms, and a few of the more quieter and less explosive Mauvian occupied offices.
"Is that sarcasm?" He said, eyeing the other at the last comment. "Your enthusiasm is inspiring." He said with a flattening tone, wondering what exactly got Rak to be excited at all.
"Is there anything about this new situation that even remotely peaks you interests?"

"It is... difficult for me to understand," Rakovanite admitted as Wolframite confessed that he wasn't in Metallia's favor. If it had been disgust for something inhuman and monstrous, that would have made sense. Rakovanite was familiar with disgust and felt a twinge of it even now for the agent beside him. Wolframite's constant need of approval from his superiors and seeking out rewards and favor disgusted him. It had disgusted him when they met.
The 'concern-' the fear made less sense to him.
"I suppose I find it unnecessary to be 'concerned,'" he murmured. "Even if it hates you and tortures you for all of your lifetime or crushes your starseed so you will never be reborn, what is the alternative? The end of all things is death, no matter what path you take to get there, so to 'fear' is just to waste energy." And for agents in particular, what kind of end did they have to look forward to? How many of them died naturally, as opposed to being killed in battle or youmafied or taken out by their own organization for being disagreeable? What was the point in feeling 'concern'?
Rakovanite cleared his throat. "It was only partially sarcastic. I think I would be unable to hold my breath that long, but I am interested." Not that it affected his tone or expression.
"I am most interested to see how it changes things," he replied. "I am fortunate to have had someone who can explain things to me over the past few months, before I could even act. And now that I can, I think it will be rewarding to experiment and experience."

"I don't know how you operate in your day to day life then. Isn't fear a primal trigger for self preservation. You don't run into a burning building because you'd have a higher possibility to die. Fear takes hold to tell you that it's not wise. Fear can motivate someone to act or not. But it's fear that ties to other parts of us. What we want and don't want for ourselves. What we think about kate at night that makes things uncomfortable. The unknown can be a inspirations for fear due to vivid imagination. It's enriching. Fear. You must be the most boring person to take to a amusement park otherwise."
He wasn't sure if Take actually believed his own words or just didn't recognize what caused him to be afraid.
"Death is a common fear because it's a end. A unknown to many. Despite religious reassurances, it's still a finality outside of any of our control. Lack of control and lack of answers can be scary." But Rak just brushed it all aside as silly. Was that a point to be envious of or to pity the other?
"I would say that most people would fear being tortured without end and want to avoid it if possible. And the alternative would to die in whatever way the person fills is best for them - if they had a say in the matter." Shouldn't that be obvious?
"The Rift? I suppose if every manner of chaotic creature doesn't scare you, you at least have the common sense and muscle definition in your legs to run away when one goes after you. Has talking with this someone changed any thoughts of the Negaverse for you?"
Is there anything that holds the most interest here for you?"

"How I operate?" Rakovanite's brow furrowed. "I suppose I rely on basic sense rather than fear to propel me forward. I recognize that I would rather die later rather than sooner, and I can simply decide to do things that further that goal without the need for fear. I would not run into a burning building because that would be foolish and would achieve literally nothing. Fear makes people act hastily and behave irrationally. It is easier, and in my opinion, wiser, to accept that there will always be negative, distasteful, and hurtful things on the horizon, and that mitigating that is only a matter of making informed and intelligent choices."
"It is not my preference to die a gruesome death, but in choosing to be part of a war, I must acknowledge and accept the potentially negative aspects that come with it." He'd been fortunate to have time to think about it, a luxury it didn't seem like most powered individuals had been offered. "...The alternative was remaining ignorant, and accepting that I would be a victim any time something like you was bored."
Disgust seeped briefly into his tone again at that word. Surely no one would choose to be a victim when there was any other option available. Any other option.
Rakovanite would never understand his Fettelite.
"It is difficult not to have some interest and curiosity of the Rift. Youma cannot die. They can live forever in exchange for permanent servitude. Can you imagine what some of them must have seen? What some of them have experienced? It is an existence I would do anything to avoid, perhaps I could even fear it, but that does not diminish the interest, to see a plane where you could live forever..."
"But we can save that for another time. I am interested in reading any logs I would be allowed access to in the Database, and I suppose it would benefit me to seek out someone with some kind of combat expertise."

"You make being a youma sound so glamorous. If anything, it must be tedious to be in that realm for that long when some of them have memories of their time in the Earth Kingdom. To have lived as a person and enjoyed the benefits of seeing the land they now walk as once having been a wondrous kingdom. Though I have seen their towns so - I suppose they continue on. Perspective I suppose." He said with a shrug.
"If fear doesn't make your heart race. Is there anything that excites you? Charges you up?" He asked, finding sometimes that Rak didn't seem to allow himself to let loose. "I get the sense you pull back a lot." He took measures to not react on sheer whims and instinct and didn't express himself as openly as others.
Even talking to him lacked the quick highs and lows of someone lost in a topic they where head over heels about. Did Rak ever talk in such a fashion?

Rakovanite tipped his head inquisitively. "Do I? I expected something like 'eternal servitude' would dissuade most people from thinking it a 'glamorous' existence." But then he was talking to a dog, wasn't he? Notoriously yearning for chaos' figures of import to command and control him. Rakovanite shouldn't have been surprised. It didn't please him, personally, but that didn't mean it didn't please someone. Like Wolframite.
A withering look was shot the captain's way, marred only marginally by the purpleish light reflecting off Rakovanite's glasses. "I would think you may know some things that excite me," he retorted flatly.
"Otherwise, I am mostly indifferent. It is a lot of effort to get worked up over petty, inconsequential things, and I value efficiency and rationality. If it seems like I pull back, it is because I have difficulty justifying the energy and time expenditure toward something that benefits me very little." With that out of the way, he paused to consider the question more fully.
Besides the obvious that Wolframite should know (having taken part in it with him), there were only a scattering of other things. "I am competitive," he admitted. "When I am not working out or studying or enjoying my personal favorite strenuous leisure activities, I play PC games." He shrugged. "I am mostly into Overwatch right now."

Wolframite turned his head slightly to clear his throat. "I suppose I do." They hadn't talked about that night. Wolframite hadn't brought it up as it was a unspoken agreement that what they had was just a mutual agreement of quick pleasure and physical need and nothing more. With both of them clearly with other people, and Rak's opinion of him, repeats were not in the stars.
PC games was lost on him. He had to use the computers in the Negaverse communal areas which didn't have any real "games" on it aside from internet access and the ability to check the database. Sometimes he could stream movies or TV shows but usually he had to just buy them from a store to enjoy them. "Over Watch? I'm not familiar." Competitive. Games. At least he did some leisurely activities. "I don't play many games."
And he had to give away his gifted console.

It was as if talk of computers had led them in that direction. Rakovanite canted his head to peer through a doorway and was met with what looked startlingly like a high-school computer lab, likely the designated areas where agents without their own office filed reports. They were very standard, basic computers. None of the flash and personalization that went into building your own. More likely to have Mine Sweeper than Overwatch. And Rakovanite didn't know what kind of internet Negaspace was capable of receiving.
He looked back to the other agent. "It is a team-based FPS, wherein the goal is to complete objectives while eliminating the other team. There is some strategy involved, and good communication and deductive reasoning skills can turn a fight in your favor." He wasn't going to say someone like Wolframite (or pretty much any agent, honestly) could benefit from practice in communication and deductive reasoning, but the slight edge to his tone may have hinted it.
"December and I first met at a gaming cafe. I know your glamor is finite, and there are likely better ways for you to use it, but if you were interested, there are places you could go to play games if you were ever bored. You can call me, if it pleases you. I would not likely pass up an opportunity to defeat you in my game, since you have had so many opportunities to beat me in yours."
"Alternatively, you may have luck building your own computer that would better suit your needs than anything currently available here. A Mauvian could probably find a way to get you decent internet, and I could message you a site for parts. They can be quite expensive, though."
Not that Wolframite had asked about literally any of that, and there had been no indication that he was interested.
Rakovanite's brow furrowed, and he quieted.
