Personality:
To sum Yowel up: a daft bard without a cause and in love with life. His D&D sheet would have a high score in Charisma and Constitution, but the rest of the stats are single digit (poor guy). Yowel is a little nutty (he prefers peanuts if you ask, none of those fancy nuts) but is extremely affable and easy-going. Some may see him as devil-may-care, but he likes to think of himself as more happy-go-lucky. He's able to get himself out of some pretty tight and dangerous spots with a song and dance, most of the time.
History:
Something never quite clicked right with Yowel, his mother would note. As the fifth child of his mother (and one of many foals born in his herd), he was often left to his own devices and had to entertain himself. He sought for attention from his parents and elders, and he began to act out by literally acting out. Yowel would create songs and do dances, and would search for days in the surrounding woods for a grand costume. No one seemed to really be interested, merely glancing his way and offering lackluster praise. He has to step his game up. Once day he happened upon a pile of bones, and he instantly knew that these would be the ticket to the praise he so desired. Or so he thought. His family gently pushed him away, telling him of grand stages where millions would hear his songs and understand his esoteric prose. Now he travels the lands, wearing bones and singing songs. He hasn't figured out how to get the bones off just yet. But one day. Maybe.
Plot Ideas:
Marching On: Yowel runs into a band of brothers who are set on a bold quest: they want to destroy all the evil in the lands. They ask him to help them on this journey, for he looks quite intimidating. Unfortunately this poor goofy singer isn't much for fighting, but he sure can whip up a grand battle song!
My Poor Shins: Once he was able to manage on his own, his mother sent him off to go bother some other poor sots with his never-ending slew of questions and jokes. Yowel meets a tiny pony! Only to discover he's a really gruff usdia and not taking any of Yowel's short jokes. After a few kicks and nips, Yowel learns all sorts of new things about the lands and beings that surround him.
Entertaining Death: Yowel's name was well earned. His loud and boisterous demeanor seems to always get him into a lot of trouble but nothing so bad as today. A predatory soquili (kalona, skin walker, something mean and bad and hungry) finds him and pins him into a corner. But Yowel is quick on his feet and uses his words to wile his way out of being dinner.
