Scorch Release
The acceptance of the Kabe had almost been swift with the speed in which he chose to address Teririkis’ suggestion, the positive answer bringing a legitimate smile of relief as she restrained a physical outburst of relief. Releasing his hand and stepping back from him a few paces so she could show the direction of the venue as well as give him space to move, without restricting him anymore than the surrounding people would milling about and enjoying themselves.”Glad you’re interested, promise you won’t be disappointed when we get there, let’s go!” She would call to him with a bit of spring in her step, looking forwards to whatever activities might be going on at the main square, being as she never bothered to check and was a bit out of touch she didn’t know what was going on. She couldn’t help but giggled in a restrained manner by covering her mouth and looking away when the Nurikabe got moving, it being actually logical that it would move in such a fashion... that did not prevent it being rather funny.
A sensation washed over Teri as she watched the creature and the feeling of success was good, even if it lacked a sense of completion at that moment it was still job done in essence. She chose to walk just ahead of him but not directly so she was still visable to it and close enough that it might look like the thing might crush her if not careful, Teris pace and spatial awareness making this a non issue and despite her facing the Nurikabe most of the time she didn’t walk into a single person the whole time. Her Nurikabe date was a merciless one with its wingman skill as it threw out its less than less than likely options than any half aware human might see as a prime option, even if there was that one rather obvious choice that transcended species a little too far, the girl finding her eye twitch and a sensation that she’d just experienced something totally absurd when the Gullypop pop was mentioned, the tone in her spoken rejection of the idea being less than flat. A half aggrieved Teri would turned to food to comfort this and another nagging irritation which had been building, buying a hotdog with a light amount of chilli and modest amount of mustard and Ketchup, the grease and calories a perfect solution to this rather draining but not uninteresting/unenjoyable experience... knowing there was no reason to actually get annoyed at the Nurikabes solidly made, inhuman suggestions.
The other thing that was bugging her was the Nurikabe blithely ignoring her request of a name, not even bothering to address it with a simple refusal and Teri didn’t really like being ignore, returning to him with the condiment covered food and taking a satisfying bite out of it to eat her feelings of annoyance.. urgh the calories. Her the minor impatience and annoyance was suddenly address it the Nurikabes sudden slew of speech, again in a highly though one and rather zen sounding answer and almost causing her to swallow without finishing chewing, although Teri is a being far to self conscious to choke on or cough out her food and only twitched a little and covered her mouth with the empty hand. Teri listened to him closely as what the creature said all made total sense when shifting her own point of view, not exactly something she could relate to but it wasn’t hard to at least understand his perspective and wouldn’t try pushing her point of view on the matter too hard. After a second bite of the hotdog and a dab at her mouth with a napkin after finishing the mouthful, making a noise akin to humming but intended to denote though as she considered how to respond to the walking walls words and try to let it consider something that related to its new circumstances.
The tone Teri used when she decided to speak showed that she wasn’t totally convinced with what he said ”A rather deep answer that I honestly should have expected of you, I generally get what you’re saying... Ones sense of self is their identity and so a name is an irrelevant label and what sets us apart is more on the inside. You should probably understand that to a human perspective I believe a name is to help others know who you are, as one cannot know you or your identity in the same way you, yourself can. As a human I and only I know who I am on the inside and in soul, another human cannot imagine to know me to such an intimate degree even after years... although they could get to know and understand facets of who I am to a great extent, this applies to everyone and in my opinion Yokai as well. A human aspect is that our name allows us a sense of individuality and identity amongst one another as opposed to us all calling each other “you” or something..., meaning it helps others as well as ourself be identified, another fact being that names also are in a way simply extremely convenient tools to help us understand whom we are referring to when needing to identify or refer to someone other than oneself.” Saying all ofbthis all pretty casually and tried not to come of as if these aspects should be quite self evident and not requiring her to even mention, it’s not like the Nurikabe had asked and it appeared his kind were without names and had no need with them.
Teri bit into her hotdog as she let this sink in, their destination coming closer and another potential date... I mean gullypop coming into view, the teen hoping the Nurikabe didn’t notice it. “Now then for the sake of my convenience I am going to call you by the name Arhat in respect of what I’ve gathered of your personality and you sound like one whom practices it, please don’t ask me to explain my reasons as I’m sure one of the buddhists in the village would be much happier than I to give you the details... plus they actually know what they are talking about. I hope you don’t mind and perhaps suggest to your yokai friends to consider names.... at least for the humans sake as it would help promote healthier communication between our kinds I’m sure.” She expressed this to him as they less than trudged along, the girls tone giving away that she wasn’t trying to be rude and was trying to give him an earnest suggestion, the girl having felt bad that people were so rude or unreasonable with the Yokai and how it just took it, especially as if he didn’t defend himself with words or talk it out with people... he might understand them and be understood better as people generally acknowledge and empathize more with something that has a name than something without.
Letting Arhat the Nurikabe be with such information, Teri and he on the move without any real strong topic of conversation by the time they had made it to the venue, Teri realizing a few minutes before arrival that there was an actual event taking placing, the sound of distant and distorted music building up among the buzz of activity. An electric tingle travelled down from her head throughout her body and all the way to the tips of her toes, the excitement and energy from the surrounding people and her own enjoyment of live music concerts distracted her from any impatience she might have had up till now. The two of them stood in the back, understandably so considering few people would be fanatic about being behind an approximately ten foot tall Nurikabe. All things considered the girl bought about 14 glow stick bands that she put on either of her arms, several of them she connected together around one of the Nurikabe arms for the sake of helping him “fit” the atmosphere better.
When the Nurikabe had asked the girl a rather deep question, She felt the buzz of energy she’d been enjoying stutter a little and causing her to stop moving her arms in sync with the beat. She muttered the first line in minor complaint to no one in particular before addressing his question “Go for the throat what don’t you... Ummmm don’t worry your effort is appreciated and you did your best.... in respect to your question, I would say that I would like to ‘open’ my heat to a potential ‘one’ but I can’t say I see it happening anytime soon... gotta love yourself before you can love others sort of deal.” She hadn’t really expected this sort of question, but considering their venue and Arhats thoughtful nature, it should have been expected. She hadn’t expected the big lug to make her think so much, this mission had been a lot deeper than she had expected which resulted in the urge to thank Arhat, even if the outward and honest expression would just seem weird to her and the creature was so ambivalent and passive that she didn’t entirely believe it would realize the sentiment as it happened and she didn’t feel like just walking off when the show would wrap up.
Speak of potential “ones” a large pink elephant slowly made its way into Arhats and finally Teris proverbial room, although in a more literal sense and made of living granite. Teri realized that Arhats vision was not in the stage but was instead where some unneeded stage hands and security would normally be, plus the backstage passers.... but now there was a addition to said team, a large Pink Nurikabe! Teri was surprised to see one was working in possibly the most fitting job in the planet for its kind.... being a barricade and this made the young girl start to legitimately giggle, finding Arhats transfixed vision adorable. When the band declared thanks and that it was their final song she tapped on the Nurikabes arm and beckoned him to follow her as she began to stride toward the backstage entrance and the frantic fans who’s dreams of pushing past were hampered neatly by a pink animated wall, speaking before she walked ”Yo, Arhat follow me! It looks like you’ve taken interest in that Nurikabe hard at work, so I think you should follow me and come say hello, I bet it’ll beat staring from a distance and if that ones anything like you, I bet they will appreciate the effort.”
Pulling her headband out from her purse as she walked over to the backstage entrance, begrudgingly putting it on despite it clashing with her outfit, mainly so she could ride its authority to make some of the milling fans go back to the main crowd and create some space for Arhat. After helping a few of the people there into realizing that they weren’t getting backstage without a pass and that they should focus on the end of the show, after clearing a few people away she would wave at the security and mouth “Keep up the good job” at them, offering a powerful(yet secretly insincere) smile at them, mainly to give of the impression she was sincerely there to help them which was untrue, she was there for Arhat. Sliding back to the Nurikabe side with a spring in her step(as she was curious to see how this would go and found this scenario potentially adorable), eager expressing to him “Alright buddy, this is the last song before a likely final encore, so the other Nurikabe over there should be finishing their shift and you would be disturbing their work, so let’s go over there,m. She told him, crossing her arms and curious to see if it would have cold feet about approaching the other one, although it was rather doubtful Teri couldn’t found the idea of it becoming bashful to be a relatively funny concept.
