Moana perked up when she heard a voice near her, asking her what song she was humming. Her head turned and she looked at the... very tall man who had addressed her, looking him over to get a feel if he was friend or foe. He looked familiar somehow, but she couldn't put a finger on anything that stood out enough for her to figure out exactly how she knew him. Once she became st least a bit certain he wasn't foe, she offered him a small smile. "An old lullaby forgotten to time. My names Moana, and you are,,,?" She watched him with carefully studying eyes.

He was exhausted, for what reason he couldn't put his finger on but he was that bone-deep, wanna curl up in bed kind of exhausted. Walking in to the seating part of the stadium, Sev sat quietly away from the group already collecting in the area. He wore a pretty unassuming outfit, a black-tank top and plain pants. Though it was unusual for him, today he just didn't want to draw attention to himself. He sat with his elbows resting on his knees, slumped somewhat over on the bench he had claimed. His blue eyes were missing their usual mischevious gleam...
Maybe it was the nightmares.
They had been gone for some time but now it seemed that they were back. These nightmares were never coherant, as if seen from the point of view of someone crazed or out of their mind. Flashes of places and people, sometimes he saw nothing and only felt a pain so deep he couldn't breathe. He often woke from these dreams nearly choking and almost always drenched in sweat. Severin had become half convinced that they were sneak peaks in to what his life had been, the things he had seen or felt. They made him hope he would never regain his memories.
The older him was dead and gone and could stay that way.

Badru smiled back at Moana, I'm Badru. He said holding out his hand for a shake. My partner and I are to watch the exams. Are you participating or just watching as well? He said trying to keep his voice as less growly as possible.
Fair skinned, blue-eyed, frail-framed, and aged at only eleven years old, Minowa Jaeger was perhaps the last expected forward guard to the Godaime of Kirigakure. Walking at the child's side was a mass of furry muscle, thick and prowling, its tail gently curling and swaying in its wake. A Binturong, most commonly referred to as a 'Bearcat,' was keeping its flank gently pressed against its human partner's side, the dark-grey fur warm, thick, and wiry. Leading the way by only a few paces, Minowa's face held a stern, confident expression. Walking along the aisles of seating, bypassing them to head towards the observation platform. The light, melodic jingle of chains jingled with his footfalls, emanating from the sickle and chain hooked onto one hip. One hand was left to rest on the shoulder blade pressed against him from Itoko, the Bearcat. The was still a little time before he would need to leave to attend to his designated area in participating in the exams - until then, he planned to secure a good view for his Pa and spend the time with him until called. It was the least he could do for the lone ANBU acting as his Pa's guard, because Inka had already gone through two emotional 'breakdowns' on the way here...

爆 Inka Hizara 爆
Inka had enjoyed the set-up upon arrival to the examination grounds. The stall-holders especially were a delight to overhear as they walked on by to the arena. A half step behind the robe-clad kage was an Anbu in standard uniform, their mask marked with the symbol for cardinal direction West. In front of Inka was his son, walking only a few paces ahead of him with his animal partner pressed against his small frame. It was a comfort thing that Minowa remained within Inka's sight, and Itoko the Bearcat was wither feeling Inka's anxiety or was feeling some of its own being in a strange land with so many strangers that the animal stayed so close to Mizukage's son. His gaze remained looking out over the blond head in front of him, keeping track of the people they passed by periphery only, trusting in his Anbu body guard to better keep track of the surroundings around him while his fatherly feelings kept him focused elsewhere.
Minowa had led the way to the observation platform, taking a spot at the railing and looking down into the arena grounds proper. The Anbu paused a few steps behind them as Inka joined his son, looking over at the North Wing, taking in the sight of people milling around; some locating seats, others gathered to chat. Inka crossed his arms over his chest, his black robe flared out around him in the light breeze, the white symbol of his rank and position stark and large on his back. Together, the three of them stood silently, awaiting the event.
Minowa looked down to the hand on his shoulder as the announcement was made, his Pa's concern and nervousness otherwise hard to spot bar the small frown on his features. Looking up, Minowa gave a nod, waiting for the Mizukage's hand to retract before leaping up onto the railing and launching forward and down to the designated area of the arena below with Itoko bounding at his heels.
Bast strolled down the hallway like she was on a casual walk, taking in the sights and sounds and generally acting fairly unconcerned with the commotion surrounding the exams. She stopped by the flag for Suna and took a moment to look it over through the dark lenses of her goggles. There didn't seem to be anything off with it, at first glance, which was at least somewhat reassuring. That out of the way, she scanned the faces in the area and headed up to the stands to watch.

A large white cat--though, maybe not all that large considering how truly large shinobi animals could go--roamed through the stadium stands like he owned the place. With bountiful fur shedding everywhere he went and haughty, heterochromatic eyes of blue and green, he really was a majestic specimen to behold. Agile, too, a fact he demonstrated more than once by not so politely leaping from one unwilling head to the other every now and then. Of course, each time, he would run off into the crowd before he could be caught and accused of any crimes.
His walk through the human park went about in this uneventful manner for quite some time until animal instinct perked up at a certain blue-red duo. The cat approached the red headed lady of the pair and sat at her feet, head raised, and eyes scrutinizing her person. She smelled weird, and the dog besides her smelled even worse.
A small group of armored UHV guards stormed into the South Wing. Between them was a middle-aged man with curly salt-and-pepper hair and an amount of scruff that was beginning to verge on "beard". He looked exceptionally tired and had the makings of a bruise on one side of his face and the visible parts of his arm on the same side. Behind them a ways was a clearly junior officer pushing a Sanshouuo puppet on a cart.
"Pardon the interruption!" barked the man at the front. "Can anyone here attest to this man's identity? He was caught meddling with a puppet belonging to one of the participants. He claims to be from Shimogakure, but the puppet is clearly of a different design. If you have any information as to this man's identity or can corroborate his story, speak now."
The alpha guard turned around and mumbled something to one of his subordinates, who nudged their detainee.
"I am from the Frost and this puppet belongs to my good-for-nothing student," he protested, remaining fairly docile and slightly unsteady on his feet. "She left the blasted thing behind before her match and it fell on me, you dolts. Y'all are touched in the heads!"
"So the perpetrator claims," the head guard added coolly.
Luna looked away from Atsuko for a moment as a feline smell reached her nose and also some other animal she couldn't quite place. She looked down and a broad grin spread over her face. She knelt down and put her hand out in front of the cat's nose. Well aren't you just handsome as can be? . Badru, still near Moana, gave a low growl at the cat infringing on his friend's space and her allowing it to do it. Luna waved him off, but Badru could feel his eye twitching. Must not eat the cat...must not eat the cat. Luna, from her position on the ground, looked off toward the commotion at the entrance. As usual the UHV were causing issues, why couldn't they just leave people alone? You would accuse someone of misdeeds without properly asking questions or at least actually speaking with him and listening? She would ask petting the cat if it allowed her.
• Into the Wild: Ayame has spent so much time with Daichi that she already has begun to adapt and bond with him on a greater level. Ayame's hands have adapted to form powerful claws, as well as house a great deal of grip strength designed to rip and tear the opponent. •I See You: Her bond with Daichi has also given her night vision •Oooooo That Smell: Ayame's rank up has strengthened her bond with Daichi and has heightened her sense of smell to that of any normal wolf. •Run Wolfgirl RUN: Ayame's rank up has strengthened her bond with Daichi and has increased her speed moderately. •Any Collaboration with James, Theodin, Daichi, or Bast: +2 rank •All raiton: +1 rank •ANBU Armor •Medium Specialty Armor •Clothing is made of Efreet Skin{Hakama, Haori the works all her clothing is efreet} with Nitinol Alloy patches in important places (Chest Plate is completely made of this material which stops right above the knees then begins again after the knees) •Silent Soles
Yes, the cat would permit Luna to pet her. Being that she was at least a Kazekage's level of power, she had the minimum qualifications for him to do her a favor. No, don't look at him. He was doing this as a favor. Strictly as a favor. He was not enjoying this nor was he arching his head into the exquisite pat pats of this wolf-smelling lady. That was just him stretching his neck to get an even haughtier and higher look.
Upon a certain uneasy feeling, however, Yume perked open one eye, which totally hadn't been closed because he was basking in the pleasurable petting. The blue eyes swiveled until it found the target of the uneasiness, red eyes framed by blue hair. Grasping the gist of the situation with an almost supernatural speed, the white cat's one open eye glinted as it smirked at the wolf before quickly, before any harm could come to it, winding his forepaws around the hand patting him, standing up on his hindlegs, and pretty much just asking to be carried. His smirk had cleverly lasted for only a moment, hard to even call it a split second. Now, he was meowing at Luna for attention with a wide-eyed expression that conveyed a kitten-like innocence while retaining the regal air of his breed.

Zets watched the very familiar scene of the UHV throwing around their power, tearing Shinobi with little compassion or fairness. “even if he was tampering with someone’s puppet, they’d have to some other reason to treat the man so harshly. ” The voice of reason spoke out in his head. And after hearing the man’s response, it was becoming more and more likely that the man was speaking the truth. Who would implicate a current participant in their alibi
After hearing a young woman speak up for the bound and bruised man, Zets removed his hood while walking through the crowded stadium, revealing his face and sinister glare toward the UHV spokesman. He would come to stand several feet away from the small UHV squadron. “i can actually give an eye witness statement as to seeing this man am his apprentice communications long before her match. ” Zets wasn’t fond of lying for strangers... however the UHV always bought out a reckless side in the young man.
“if you won’t even take the time to investigate his alibi, then surely you plan to do something unspeakable once behind closed doors? Let the man get back to his work, I’ll even personally volunteer to shadow him and prevent any needless violence” Zets’ words weren’t that of a calm individual. His voice carried a level of passion and emotion.
Amber eyes glinted in delight at seeing a specific pair of combatants duelling in one of the netted-off areas of the arena. 'Keep calm, Minowa.' Inka prayed, hoping his ancestors would be blessing his son's performance today. There may be no shared blood between them, but Inka would rather death than calling that blond-haired boy anything else other than his son. He was already having trouble reigning in his pride from Minowa's sensei giving their recommendation for the exam, and now, seeing his son in action, he could Sypher's skills down in that ring. And not by the obvious Mokuton bloodline (a part of him saw his own brashness in Minowa's head-on bullheadedness, but perhaps that's wishful thinking. And, honestly, Minowa would have an easier life with Syy's more calculating mind).
Inka's gaze turned a little less focused when he felt his ANBU escort step up to his side. "Some kind of disturbance." They spoke, softly enough to not be overheard. Inka listened to the explanation and kept his head turned just enough to keep the South Wing stands in his peripheral. A woman spoke up, questioning the actions of the guards, before a hooded figure would step forward and offer to take on the 'prisoner' to their own care. Inka remained unmoving and silent, keeping up appearances that he was more interested in watching the matches, his black robe warm under the sun, the white symbol of his station stark in contrast. The ANBU stayed close now, back to the arena, watching the stands and those around them on the observation deck.
"And if he fails as a shadow you can have me responsible to"
Atsuko finally spoke once everyone else had, stepping forward and making sure his Shishin badge was clear and proud to. His eyes were still alight with the crimson glow of mangekyou.
"I am Atsuko Uchiha of the Shishin. This man is a member of our group working security. If there truely has been an issue like this we have an interest in finding a solution to it. Preferably one that wouldn't be based on accusations"
His words were clear and steady. They didn't come out with malice but it would be obvious he wasn't giving any ground here. In times of tension Atsuko wasn't one to bend or shy away from confrontation. He met it head on. Especially if one of his own was already stepping up to play.
Ninja Passives • Noble - While his sharingan is active Atsuko is able to identify when a genjutsu is being cast if the jutsu is being cast within his sight-line. It does not allow him to know what is being cast and he must still pay the appropriate cost to avoid or break out of the genjutsu.
• Mangekyou Sharingan - Active / Piercing: Can view chakra brightly and see their shapes distinctly from other ninjutsu. Can see the type of chakra being used, be it elemental, bloodline, clan, or Maruton, and also reports the strength of the jutsu prior to it actually being launched. Genjutsu defense remains the same as before. Does not stack with other defense boosts. • Amateratsu’s Cloak: Katon techniques produced by the Uchiha, not just bloodline ones but all, are turned black. These flames burn hotter, longer, and oddly brighter than others. Confers a reduction to seals needed for fire techniques to 1 instead of what should usually be necessary, and converting normal katon into Uchiha fire, effectively converting them into bloodline techniques at an additional 5 chakra per rank of the technique. Confers any bonuses to katon to bloodline techniques that involve fire as well for the same cost increase. • Illusory Prowess - This attribute allows any and all genjutsu to be cast through eye contact with the Uchiha and adds a single secondary sense to any genjutsu cast by the Uchiha, at their discretion. • Targeted Immunization (Fear) - Immune to the fear hazard. Uchiha see a lot of terrible stuff right?
• Lost Robes - Able to seal abilities within the robes, Stored Below Large Tomoe // Kamui Small Tomoe // Small Tomoe // • Foresight - Can negate fuin used on the wearer by paying double the equivalent cost up to S rank. This ability will trigger automatically (still taking up a activation) if the proper amount of chakra is still had by the user of the robes. Automatically OR manually both take up activation.
• Blade of Peace - Gives twice the normal regeneration for out of combat and twice the regeneration when in combat as long as the user is not using any activation's. Can also be extended to allies within a radius of 50 feet.
• Undertow - Any physical attack that follows a dodge is treated as a counterattack and will break the opponent’s stance if not properly defended against. Only breaks stances up to the user’s maximum trained rank in the Hard or Soft Physical Formless Styles. • Embrace the Brine - The student can add both Fortitude and Reflex descriptive increases to the rank of their stance when determining whether they would be knocked out of it by an attack. • Every Inch of Sail - When defending against unarmed strikes, the student’s defensive strikes can slowly overwhelm an opponent’s passive defenses, reducing their passive Fortitude bonuses by an amount equal to the student’s passive Reflex bonuses the post after they attacked the student.
• Insight Rain - The user will practice extending themselves into the atmosphere, in a sense. After much dedication, the user develops the ability to sense hostile intent in the immediate area. As to where, however, they cannot be sure.
In the face of a veritable wall of hate being tossed their way, the security team stood their ground. In truth, they'd been expecting as much; none of those Big Village Folks even saw hicks like them as human. Not that they'd ever seen, at least. One of them wanted to smack the ones accusing them of things ranging from felonies to war crimes, but they let it slide. This was work. Nobody ever wanted to see security.
"Good, that was easy," the alpha guard responded, briefly locking eyes with Zetsu and only passing a glance at Atsuko's lapels. "We'll leave him in your care, then, and return the puppet to its owner when their match is finished. Thank you for your help in this matter."
The sleepy guy was released and the guards made their way back to the other side of the coliseum, the lackey with the puppet lagging behind them a short distance.
"Can't a guy catch a break?" the lout grumbled, shutting his eyes and kneading his forehead with his palm.
A silver charm in the shape of Shimogakure's village symbol hung from his wrist, glinting in the beams of the overhead lights. After muttering to himself for a good chunk of a minute, he snapped his eyes open and stared at the floor, his aura looking more downtrodden than ever.
"Thanks for getting me out of that," he said to no one in particular, seemingly unwilling to point out any single one of them as having contributed to his release. "Everyone's so on edge and it's driving me insane. You travel for half a week to get to some big brouhaha in the middle of nowhere and you can't even get a wink of sleep when you're there. The hell's up with that?"
He crouched down, put his face in his hands, and let out a heavy sigh. Then, with surprising speed for someone so clearly worn out, he shot straight up like a bamboo sprout and looked around.
"So how are the fights going? Anyone here following them? Has my Katou knocked anyone out yet?"
