Personality:
Thaw is a couple years past his prime. He is a hard wolf with few friends. Most find his company challenging. He takes the expression “rough around the edges” to the extreme. He has survived much adversity, though most of it he brought upon himself.
That said, he isn’t particularly violent or aggressive, for one of his kin; he just says the worst things at the best possible times and makes very poor decisions that he will always strive to follow through with. If not for his unnatural luck or more likely the grace of some benevolent god he’d be dead ten times over.
He does have a few friends, though: a couple wolves he helped out along the way and a few more that learned to love him despite his abrasive mannerisms. Say what you will, he is loyal to a fault.

A brief history:
Growing up in the far north is tough for most. You have to be strong in both body and mind. With that in mind, it’s a small wonder that Thaw has survived so long. Perhaps it’s his daily habit of swimming, even in the dead of winter.
Thaw and his family are members of a pack of berserkers that live on the eastern coast of the North. His parents raised him in typical berserker fashion: lots of hunting and fighting. He was never one to put himself out for no reason however, and he gained a reputation for being lazy and slippery. A fight avoided is often as good as one won.
Politics was never his thing. Although he can be thoughtful, at times, a gift for words he does not have. He is also easily goaded and provoked. As a younger wolf, this got him in big trouble. He became caught up in a squabble between rival beta families. A few choice words landed him in the middle of a big fight which he helped to win, but cost his family dearly. Of course the blame landed squarely him. If not for his family’s good standing in the pack they would all have been excommunicated or worse. And, things only got worse for them over the years. He is one of the last living members of his immediate family, now.
