"It's alright, Alexei. We've been together a while now, so It's not as if I didn't expect this. Not the temporary blindness, but I fully expected to not spend the holidays with you. N-Not that I mean that in a negative way, I just..." He paused, clearing his throat. "I had prepared something for you for when you came home."
There was a reason why his hand had gone to Alexei's thigh, but at the same time, he understood if the idea when over his head.
Shiloh still wasn't very forward or blunt with what he wanted. Had things gone normally, he would have had a few glasses of whine first.
And yet here he was now. Sober, with a blind Alexei. And still attempting to salvage his plans for the night.
"Let's... Not worry about this for now. Are you hungry? I have food ready at home, and then we can perhaps put on some music, and you can rest. Or if you'd rather me read you out some of your documents, I can do that instead."

Alexei tilted his head to the side, a little more interested now that Shiloh had confessed to preparing something for him. Still, he didn't put much thought into it, assuming there wasn't much of a point if he couldn't see what was prepared.
It was hard for him to give up the idea of working, hard for him to admit some sort of defeat.
But then, it was a holiday. A holiday that wouldn't have meant anything to him if he were on his own, but a holiday that must have meant something to Shiloh. His fingers rested over Shiloh's hand and he gave a faint, reassuring squeeze.
"Whatever plans you have, I'm sure they're wonderful. Food and music sounds wonderful. Perhaps, if you're feeling up to it, I might lay my head in your lap and ask you to play with my hair. And we can talk. Or you can tell me a story. Whatever your heart desires. Work can wait until morning."
Or later, depending on how long he had to deal with this affliction. Regardless, there was no reason to have a bad night. He could adapt. He would overcome this. Things would go back to normal soon enough.

"It's... I suppose it should still work. It's a textile thing, in the end... And now that I think about it, it's likely to have started in the dark to begin with given... The unfamiliarity of it all... I think that sounds very nice, just being together with you. Is... Is it rude of me to think it doesn't happen often enough...?" His voice trailed off of the end, knowing that it was selfish to think such a thing, but unable to hold back the words.
No, Alexei was hurt right now, and it was incredibly rude to think of such things.
His words stumbled, hesitating as he pulled his hand back from Alexei to place it on the steering wheel instead.
"Y-you know.. I-I had hoped my head head could have been between your legs instead this evening..." He paused again, realizing just what thought came through his mind and a soft but very clear squeak came from his mind. Thankfully, the urge to panic was subdued by the need to get them home safely.
"N-Never mind that! P-Please pretend you didn't hear that... I-I'm sorry..."

Alexei was a little surprised by the insinuation, trying to figure out what slang that was for, what other meaning Shiloh could have meant. Sweet, innocent, pure Shiloh.
"Shiloh," he chastised, but there was no resentment, no reprimand. He reached out his hand, finding Shiloh's elbow first and then letting his fingers glide down to rest over his hand on the steering wheel before reclaiming it and lacing their fingers together.
"I don't make a habit of forgetting things. I appreciate your honesty. Get us home safely," he instructed, though he knew he had no reason to worry about Shiloh's driving; he always took great care and consideration into everything he did.
"We'll have dinner together," he said, "And enjoy the music. And then see where the night takes us."
He drew Shiloh's hand to his lips and kissed the back of it, lips lingering for longer than they needed to.
Shiloh's presence was a welcome distraction; a faint smile lingered in place of the judge's standard stoic expression.

Ah, he was going back into old habits, wasn't he? There was no doubt about it, given the tone of Alexei's voice. Paring that, with the hand that so very gently touched him.. Well, Shiloh could only nod, before swallowing and realizing again that Alexei couldn't see him.
"Right... Right. I will focus on that for now. I'm..." He paused, biting back that apology with a smile and a small blush at the lingering kisses left behind on his hand.
"I'm confident we'll be home safe and sound..."
And he was right. In no time, they were back home, safely pulled into the garage and the car turned off.
"Do you need any help getting out? I... Well, I'm certain you've come home so many times you have this place memorized but, I am here if you need me.."

Alexei was torn between pride demanding he do everything himself, and the softness he had become accustomed to sharing with Shiloh. He unbuckled with ease, found his briefcase with ease, opened the door with ease--and yet, once his feet were on the ground and he had stepped out of the car, he held out his arm for the man.
"Escort me, please," he insisted. "I'll take any excuse to be close to you. Let me get inside and change. We'll have a good night yet, Shiloh. Don't worry."
He felt the need to reassure him, more than himself, that he was okay. Alexei wasn't going to be blind forever, he'd do whatever he needed to fix this. He had an iron-will and would find some solution.
...Right now, he just wanted to make sure Shiloh was all right.

More than anything tonight, the actual consent to being escorted shocked Shiloh, tough he kept that to himself. A man as prideful as Alexei seemed almost acutely undefeatable. he needed no one's help, and no one's companionship to live as best he could. Nothing was holding him back. But in this case, he conceded... It was frightening in a way, and made the whole situation much more real.
But everything seemed to ease as Alexei continued, causing Shiloh to hastily nod and go to his side. "I understand. I... You know you have no need for excuses to keep me close."
He easily slipped his hand into his lover's, guiding him towards the door, step by step. "I know we will. You've never given me any reason to doubt you before, and I'm certain you won't now."

He just smiled and gave Shiloh's arm a little squeeze before leaning over and pecking his cheek affectionately. It wasn't exactly on the center but he did a good enough job for a blind man guessing. "I know I need no excuse. It's nice to find them, anyway. Come, my love. Let's make a game of this. I've heard when you lose one sense, the others heighten."
His mouth lingered close to his ear, as if he were speaking some dark secret into it for Shiloh alone to hear.
"We shall test that out."

"I feel as if I've heard that too. Maybe my cooking will taste even better tonight." The thought brought a small smile to his face, and the kisses, and those words whispered against his ear served to make him smile all the more.
"I'm not sure what you're suggesting, though whatever it is, perhaps we should get you undressed first. I do like the idea of playing a game with you, but... Let's not ruin that suit of yours." Another tug, and they were properly in the house, that comforting light of familiarity washing over him and leaving Shiloh feeling alot less uneasy.
"Home sweet home, as they say... Only made better with you by my side."
