Lopezite's eyes remained on the Mauvian and he nodded, smile as genuine as ever. "You must let me if you find out. Or, if there is anything else I can do to help you. I rather like you, little Mauvian. And your very fashionable, useful hat."
He was only vaguely aware of the passing of time, and even then it was only because of the stiffness in his back and neck. He'd been poring over his tablet for too long earlier and his body was protesting, pleading for some sort of reprieve. A hot bath and a nap, probably.
He stretched on the spot, not the least bit concerned when a few of his bones popped loudly in the room. "Ah, I suppose that's my cue to be on my way. But I must say, I enjoyed myself, Chip. It's a wonder to watch you work. I'll have to come visit here again soon, I'd like to see how your coffee turns out. Will I be able to find you within the next few days, to hear all about production?"
Truthfully, he wasn't quite sure where Mauvians disappeared to; he felt like he saw them so rarely. Even now, Chip was the only one he'd ever really had a conversation with.

Chip was clearly very pleased to have a helper putting everything in place. By the time the Captain was feeling a bit strained by it all, the whole machine, huge and ridiculous as it was for a coffee machine, actually seemed pretty well assembled. Putting aside the myriad wires and tiny pipes sticking out in odd places. But those were “finesse” work, as far as Chip was concerned. He nodded to his tired assistant and replied, “I’m glad for your help! Look at all we got built!” He giggled, as he looked around. It was still a mess, definitely. And big. So big. “I don’t think I could move this even if I wanted to, so I’ll be here! You can try all the coffee you want!” Chip did know where the mauvians disappeared to, though he wasn’t asked. He was aware, at least, that a lot of them didn’t like people as much as he did.

Lopezite’s hands were planted on his hips and he looked at the finished piece almost proudly as he lingered in place. “All right,” he promised. “I’ll do that. You finish getting it all ready and I’ll be back in here later to see how it all turned out.”
He rolled his shoulders once more and walked, not to the door, but to Chip, reaching down and petting his head fondly in a single stroke. It was less like a generic pat on the head as one might give to any friendly animal and more like a reassuring gesture between friends.
“You did a good job with this, Chip. I’m eager to see how it turned out.” He rose again, smile still on his face. “I’ll check in soon. Hit me up if you ever need someone to move things, I appreciate the workout.”

Some Mauvians, Chip knew, viewed pettings as such as demeaning and something to object to. Chip was not one of those Maus. He wobbled his head approvingly, and flicked his tail. "I will fabricate the best coffee, you'll see~ Then all the agents will be super hyped, and it'll be great!" He nodded his head at that. "And you've been a good minion, thanks~ you're welcome any time! I'm keeping this room, no matter what anyone says." Nobody had objected so far, and no one probably would... but still. Chip did what Chip wanted.

Lopezite looked at him, visibly amused, and shook his head before laughing. If it had been anyone else he might have taken offense to being called a minion but something about a tiny cat giving him such attitude made it hard for him to take any actual offense. He was pleased he’d gotten to steal a bit of affection from the Mauvian and seemed more than content.
“I believe in you,” he said, and didn’t doubt Chip in the slightest. “I think this is a good room for you. I’m sure no one would be foolish enough to take it from you. So I’ll come back and visit soon, all right? Don’t...ah...don’t drink too much coffee yourself, though…”

"Good~" Chip replied, nodding. "Thanks! And don't worry...I don't actually like coffee. Way too bitter." He shook his head. "I've tried some, but I'll be relying on coffee drinkers to tell me if I'm doing it right!" He was in it for the science after all. "Next time, you'll have to try it!" Kyuseisha no Hikari We can probably wrap it up with another post, I think~

"I will," he promised. "...I'll bring some creamers, too. Just in case."
There were too many different types of coffees, and too many anomalies in the Negaverse, but despite it all he found himself a little excited. "I know you won't let me down though, Chip. I'll see you soon. I'm excited for next time," he said, raising his hand to wave before he stepped out of the room, smile lingering on his face.

"Oh, creamers!" he breathed. "Hadn't thought about that..." He almost forgot to say bye as the officer left, so caught up as he was in making new plans for additions. He did remember, and called out a little "bye bye!" as the door swung shut. More to do, more to do, Chip hummed happily as he set to planning.
