Sathe smiled a bit, quite used to this level of excitement around familiars. "I know it is, but you have to be good, okay?" He had done a bit of research ahead of time so that he knew what they were getting into. "Besides, I don't think the Academy would be pleased about us bringing back a horde, they're already hesitant about letting people have them at all in the dorms."

He paused for a moment when he realized that might have come across too harshly, nudging her slightly with a smile. "But I trust that you can handle taking care of one if you feel up for it..."

Mayumi was a soul who knew her business, and that was familiars. Bunyips were a lesser-known species, and while she had studied them as much as one can, she still would prefer hearing it from an expert first. Basically, she was looking for a guardian of the familiars back home. She hoped this would be the right choice, and there was one way to find out.

As she disappeared inside the tent she made a mental note to grab one of those bunyip harnesses should she decide to adopt. The tent was crowded with people of all sorts. It was unlikely that there would be an opening right away so she sat down at the lollipop table and took one. She made her donation and sat down to unwrap the candy. Idly, she studied the plushies and picked one out for herself. "Freckles! So cute."

Keenan had just blown into town with the wind and tumbleweeds. In fact, his jacket was still a bit dusty though he had bathed earlier in the day. Flyers had not escaped his attention and the decision to attend the fair had not been about bunyips. He just wanted to stretch his restless legs and be around people for a change. He was always roaming, it seemed, and getting to know anyone was a challenge. So this was a nice alternative.

He was looking at harnesses when the booth owner pointed out the adoption tent. Well, it had not been his intention to come home with one, but it wouldn't hurt to have a look. And in the event that he started to bond with one, it wouldn't hurt to have one by his side in his travels.

Hanging out in back with the bunyips in their enclosure, he watched their antics. One came right up to him and gazed into his eyes. Then it tore off to chase one of its companions in an endless game of tag. Well, that was strange, he thought. These energetic ones seemed like good candidates for adoption. But there was another one that could not seem to relax. Rather, it was wary and even a little nervous with all these people around. Keenan met all of these creatures in turn, but the latter really seemed to hit it off with him. "Well, I'll get you out of this busy place soon."

Soon. Keenan was not sure when it would happen, but they would be back on the road, and this bunyip would have a real job to do.

Gaius had been perusing the organized event thoroughly, his small pack of a few of his familiars that accompanied him enjoying their time just as equally as he was. The sweet creatures surrounding him earned plenty of attention and basked in the affection they earned from strangers passing by.

Ahh but he'd made it finally to the Bunyip pen, his lax smile broadening more upon seeing the gentle guardians. So fascinating they were... so lovely... Fawning over them, he knelt to get closer, being considerate of their space, and simply observing them watching him in turn. His little companions around him also took interest in the giants, some inching closer, others sniffing towards their way. The hallowed junior let his eyes rest on the particularly galaxy looking Bunyip, whose blue hues and speckles were reminiscent of the imagery told and expressed through his beloved science books.

He'd love to have one join his pack, and thus prompted one of the volunteers about adopting one. Especially that blue painted one that seemed to have an energy that vibed well with his smaller familiars.
