Username: AislingJuno Name: Ronan (Celtic for little seal) Temper: perspicacious Personality: Ronan is a slippery little fellow. He is glib of tongue and quick of wit. Physically he's not the strongest seathi-he not weak but let's just say if he got in a physical fight he would most likely lose. He, however, is highly intelligent and super fast and slippery like his namesake the seal. His motto, "Why duke it out when you can outthink your enemy or in worse case swim away speedily." Ronan is very bonded to his siblings(including mint) and mothers. While he does like to hear stories about the Gobiidae Sarab, his heart belongs to the deep current of the ocean. That being said as a foal he does pester his father and herd elders to tell him stories about the desert seathi and foreign waters. He generally spends half his time looking for loot but like the original herd members, he is also attracted to anything shiny or unusual. He will gather shells with unusual patterns, glass beads, broken pieces of coral, and glossy rocks. Ronan creates jewelry with these items and he will often trade his pieces for gems or rare materials with other soq and fams. He likes to give his family pieces of his work to adorn themselves with.
Plot Ideas:
Distraction: Ronan energetic demeanor is causing his poor mothers to be exhausted. Trying to distract him they give him some shells and wire. Unexpectedly Ronan becomes fascinated with the possibilities the material provides.
Tell me a story: Ronan discovers his love of stories. He will badger his father and any herd elder to tell him about their great adventures and foreign seath territory.
It looks pretty?: Skill need to be honed and Ronan first works of art look a little unusual. His first gifts to his mothers and father are 'unique' looking. Trying to give him support his parents praise him. His sibling, on the other hand, are a little more honest about what they think about his work (foals are honest). After pouting a bit Ronan becomes motivated and his skills only get better.
Gobiidae Sarab: As a foal, Ronan is quite interested in the Gobiidae Sarab. He sets out to look for the underwater caves but gets hopefully lost. After all, he at the time has no concept of distance. Frantic his family starts looking for him and Mint is able to find him. Hungry and tired- Ronan declares that he is never going to leave home again.
Fam-tastic- Ronan learns that he can trade the jewelry he makes with fams and other seathi. He takes pride when others wear the items he has crafted. Eventually, he meets a fam who won't leave his side because it wants a steady supply of accessories. He will learn how to barter with the fam to receive the locations of undiscovered shipwrecks.
