It doesn't seem to matter that they're trying to sneak around, the senshi takes note of the two chaos signatures anyway and is suddenly on high alert. While the movements are slow, their decision to stand their ground and fight back is obvious.

Eyes narrow and their mouth opens, magic being called to their hands and unleashed in a flurry of rose petals that would feel like a flurry of paper cuts towards the more concerning aura. (Noctua)

Noctua cursed aloud when the senshi turned around. She hadn't been paying enough attention. She hadn't noticed how powerful the aura was. The senshi was a step above her, and she hadn't even noticed.

Surprise wasn't an excuse for inaction. Even as rose petals rushed around her, littering her exposed skin with papercuts, she had to move. Had to act.

"Noctua Feverish Nights!"

Her magic shot from her eyes at the same time her bony fist made contact with the senshi's face. Her knuckles were sure to bruise from the impact, but Xenotime had warned her about that. Readied her for it. And this would be her first fight with her training.

Noctua needed to do her mentor proud.

Noctua Sleepless Nights
Noctua closes her eyes and calls the name of her attack. Upon opening them, she will lock eyes with one person for five seconds and they will be subject to the attack. For the next ten seconds, the victim will feel like they haven't slept at all for the past few nights. They will be victim to the more physical symptoms of insomnia, like tension headaches, nausea, and dizziness. Noctua can perform this attack twice or once with enough energy left Noctua Feverish Nights

This senshi was clearly more aware of their surroundings, and so stealth wasn't going to make much difference. As the two magic-users started slinging their strange abilities at one another, Tetra came out of hiding and took a shot with his weapon.

Looking back, he could honestly say there was no logical reason why he thought that would do anything at all.

A little nerf dart shot out, and was quite useless. Tetra had some choice words to say in Mongolian about it, and kept moving, looking for a good opening to do something proper.

The nerf dart bounced off them uselessly, the senshi barely sparing the thing a glance. Instead their attention was locked on to the bony looking woman. Something about them was concerning, the cracks in her forehead and chest, the---

Wait. Was she using magic??

Agents didn't use magic. What was she?

There wasn't enough time to think about it when they threw a punch back even as they staggered back from the contact to their jaw. When the magic hit, they swore, suddenly feeling dead on their feet.

Noctua watched the little foam dart bounce uselessly off of the eternal and could have killed the lieutenant behind her. She could have torn him limb from limb and bone from bone. She could have. Were she not currently being wailed on the senshi that he had tried to nerf to death, evidently

But she would do that later.

Chase's anger still seared her flesh and his threats still hung menacingly at the back of her mind. It hung over her like an omen, and she would not repeat her last failure. She would not.

She'd die first.

The fist that hit Noctua square in the throat stole her breath and her voice, but there was no time to slow down. Xenotime had trained her for this. She was ready.

Still struggling for breath, Noctua grabbed the senshi's head and brought it down as hard as she could on her bony knee, smashing that joint into that pretty little face with all of the force her small frame could manage.

If only you could see me now, Xenotime, she thought breathlessly, a horrible, toothy smile splitting her face into two haunting halves. You would be so proud, teacher. You would be so proud of me.

The opening came pretty quickly, Tetra found, thanks to his ally's strange magic. He tossed his useless little gun aside, and simply shoulder tackled into the wavering senshi.

While no giant, Tetra was still a fairly imposing person, even as the least powerful person here, so had no fear in throwing his weight around (especially given the uselessness of his "weapon").

With any luck, he'd knock the foe right over.

The senshi blamed the magic for leaving themselves vulnerable. They felt almost powerless to stop the descent onto a knee, head spinning when they shoved Noctua to try and get some space between them.

And then, the lieutenant rammed his shoulder into the senshi who fell backward, knocked off balance between the spinning head and the force of a shoulder shoving them back.

Getting to their feet was hard, but they refused to stay down.

She was failing. The senshi was failing and they were winning. Noctua could feel the victory on her fingertips like static and she wanted it more and more with each passing instant. The shove sent her a few feet back, but the distance was easily crossed again.

"Hold her down Lieutenant," Noctua hissed as she slammed her boot into the senshi's sternum with all of the force she could muster, only to miss.

I want her seed...

She could hear that bright soul crying from within the senshi's chest. A clear, crystal sound like a baby's cry. Noctua longed for it. Ached for it. yearned for it Never mind that Labyrynthite wanted the senshi captured alive. Never mind that her instructions were clear and there were to be no seedings or murders of any kind. That static along her fingertips shot up her arms and she had to work very hard to maintain control.

You can't disappoint him again...

"Hold her down Lieutenant," she repeated softly, chasing the mania away from her voice and eyes.

Tetra had successfully bowled the senshi over, which was heartening after that fail of a shot with his “gun.” As the senshi tried to get back up, Tetra grappled to keep them down. “Give up already,” he grunted, “Resisting will just get you hurt further. We can still find out what we need even if you have four broken limbs.”

His ally’s request caused him to look in her direction with a confused frown. After seeing the look on her face, he said, “Remember: No killing. We need all the senshi for...questioning.”

Not that what he’d just said was really all that much better. But, you know, he wasn’t intending on killing if it wasn’t necessary. (Or breaking somebody’s legs. But if it came to that...)

It didn't seem to matter that they were swaying on their feet a little or that their body ached from the way they'd been knocked flat on their a**. The lieutenant was trying to keep them on the ground and when they looked at the wild thing that was neither agent or senshi but something worse they felt shivers run down their spines.

Whatever it wanted, they refused to give.

So, while they would have prefered to put down the one with magic they had to get the stupid lieutenant off of them and threw an elbow right to his temple.

Noctua nodded at Tetra's caution, bird-cage chest heaving in her sudden exertion. At least she'd sleep that night, she supposed. Now whether or not she'd have nightmares was another question all together... maybe tetra would be able and willing to help her with that...


Back to the battle at hand, Noctua took a moment to gether herself from her previous mania, tucking her dreadlocks back into her hood as Tetra managed the senshi. The senshi who, against all reason, was still fighting. She was strong, Noctua had to give her that. A moment of respect before the senshi elbowed her partner in the head.

"Now, none of that," Noctua sighed, slamming her foot into the senshi's head.

Though definitely a bit dazed by the sudden elbow strike, “Taivshir!”(1) He grunted, and swung a fist around to counter the hit, going for a gut punch. There wasn’t much time, and they needed to subdue this person fast.

He thought they’d been moderately successful at getting information here, but catching one of these fools would be icing on the cake.

Whatever the lieutenant was saying was lost as the senshi struggled beneath him. At some point, they spit in his face.

"Who goes there?" A voice booms out followed by the chatter of what you can only assume is another guard. There's at least two of them and in the momentary panic, the senshi manages to use the distraction to shove Tetra off of them before muttering beneath their breath and unleashing a flurry of blue butterflies into the air.

They don't seem to do anything other than to give their opponent enough cover to flee just as the shine of flashlights fill the nearby space.

It's probably best if you leave, immediately.

Noctua visibly jumped at the sudden call from the distance and spat a rare and venomous curse. Her partner was a Lieutenant, and as such was unable to teleport, leaving escape up to their own two legs. Er -- four legs. Whatever.

Noctua grabbed Tetra by the bicep and flipped her hood back up over her eyes, as though such an action would somehow hide her from prying eyes that were coming around the bend.

"This missing has not been a failure," she whispered to him, tugging his arm as she ran. "I don't think they've ever seen a corrupted senshi before. General Labyrynthite will be interested to know this."

Tetra was visibly annoyed by the enemy Senshi's escape, although he did not resist being pulled away.

As they moved, he nodded to what she said. "That is interesting," he agreed, "And the Senshis are clearly interfering with," he gestured vaguely, "The operations here. Consistently. All that's needed is a more concerted effort to trap them."

"And that one makes...butterflies," he added, "Much less threatening than I'd have expected." One look around, and then, "Let's get out of here."

Of course, he said that while moving, so, a bit redundant.

All in all, not a terrible first mission for him.
