Encke glanced between the woman to Cybele, for a moment. The evenness of Cybele's voice, considering, was impressive. If he didn't know better, he'd almost say it seemed practiced.

He didn't have time to ponder that without seeming weird, though, and his attention shifted back to the woman in front of him. "And I'm Encke," he offered, moving closer to help her come to her feet, if she'd like, or alternatively, perhaps just prop her up a bit if she still felt weak. (Or, if neither, he'd just stay there. Usually what the victims actually wanted varied...)

"Are you feeling alright? Dizzy, woozy?"

If Richard was here, he'd probably be taking out one of his tiny keychain flashlights and shining it in her eyes to make sure her pupils weren't unevenly dilated, maybe check her breathing for any strange patterns, her skin for any unusual tenderness that might be a sign of breakage. Encke had some idea of what to be looking for, but not as much as he would have liked to, admittedly. He knew enough from watching Richard, but--

He pulled out his senshi phone and turned the flashlight app on, shining the light off to the side so as to not blind her and taking a quick glance over her form.

Besides for the rustled appearance--

"Would you like us to help you somewhere?"

The woman fished around to get her shoe back on and then she took Encke's hand and got to her feet, although it was clear to Cybele that he was doing most of the work as she was swaying. Her free hand went to her temple and she squeezed her eyes shut again, and then winced harder when the flashlight came on.

"A little dizzy," she said, the cracked an eye open and seemed to notice the strange outfits of her rescuers. "I think I just want to go home."

Cybele didn't think she would ever forget the unpleasant effects of having someone's hand around her starseed, the pain of it and the moment, and worse, the fear that had stayed with her afterwards, but as far as she knew, there weren't any long term physical effects that she had to worry about. Looking over the woman now, Cybele thought she looked shaken but not hurt, although she didn't know how to look for head wounds or smoke inhalation. "Would you like us to walk with you?"

"Sure," she said. "It's only a few blocks, I though I'd be fine. I don't remember what happened." She shook her head, but started walking towards the street.

She definitely just needed to get home and rest. Personally, Encke probably would have been most comfortable if she stopped into an urgent care place, but she didn't seem to be injured from his cursory glances. Her body didn't seem too overly tender when he had helped her up, either...

He turned off the flashlight and tucked the phone away into his belt.

It seemed that civilians remembered a varying amount after being drained or having their starseed taken, especially. Not that Encke had a spectacular experience with such, but--

"Well, I'm glad we were able to find you," replied Encke, knitting his brows, as he stayed with her, supporting her if she seemed to wobble or falter at all. "I'm sorry just a small walk turned into this. Do you have everything?"

He glanced over to Cybele for a moment, trying to get an idea of how she was feeling, before turning his attention back to the woman, where it would stay until he was certain she was in an at least safer location.

If Encke was looking for either discomfort or happiness on Cybele's face, he wouldn't see it. The out of control mess from the rooftop was gone. Now her expression was carefully staged. She knitted her brows just enough to look sympathetically concerned but tried to keep it from looking like there was something real to be worried about. She offered a small smile as the woman picked up a large bag and picked through it, then nodded.

"It looks like everything's here," she said. "Thanks for your concern."

Internally, she was still feeling quite jumpy, with worry washing over her every time the woman's eye flicked to her tiara or Encke's glowing flingertips, followed by relief that she at least wasn't saying anything about it.

"I'm glad you're not hurt," she said, in the same pleasant, neutral tone. "We'll get you home safe." Then she rose herself and stepped up to the woman's other elbow as they made their way out of the alleyway and up to the next street corner.

"My apartment's right here," said the woman, stopping at a door. "Thanks for all your help." She was a little unsteady as she stepped away from Encke's arm, but after a short moment fumbling with keys, she was behind a locked door.

Cybele stopped fighting the tremors in her hands the moment the door closed, and her shoulders slumped, too, but she kept up a bit of a smile for Encke. It wasn't so hard. There was part of her underneath the rest of it who was deeply happy to see someone making it safely home. "We did it," she said. "Thank you."

Encke kept quiet along the walk, only starting conversation if prompted by the woman about it. His attention appeared to be primarily focused on keeping her steady, and internally, making sure he didn't sense any other auras on the radar that could be a threat.

Nothing close by, at least.

When she said this was her apartment, he nodded, letting her go, though he kept an eye on her as she wobbled. "I'm happy we were able to help," replied Encke, with a friendly smile, before he backed away from the apartment.

And then, his form relaxed as the door clicked behind her.

Good.

She was home.

And alive.

Encke turned his attention back to Cybele, who seemed to be smiling now, at least. He returned the smile with a friendly smile of his own, returning a, "And thank you." Encke winked. "You're right, we did it. We saved a life tonight. And, at the very least, we got Faustite and his Dark Mirror friend off the street for a night."

Maybe more than a night. He hoped, at least. He knew better to think that was certain.

To confirm, he asked, afterward, his smile melting into something a bit more concerned, "And will you be alright?"

He was winking at her.

Cybele raised an eyebrow, thinking that he was laying it on a bit thick for someone who had just had to carry her off a roof. It did get a more genuine smile out of her, though, and a hint of color coming back into her cheeks. If he was trying to cheer her up, it was working.

It also helped that things had worked out all right in the end. "We did, didn't we?" The woman would be getting up to her apartment by now. Maybe she would even be greeted by her family. Today, there would be no quickly cooling corpse, nobody who had to mourn. It wasn't as concrete as winning a battle, but it was still a good thing.

The guilt about how aggressive she'd been was still creeping in, especially with Encke's question. It was tempting to wave it off with an I'm fine, but that didn't seem quite genuine or convincing after everything.

"It hasn't been this bad in a while," she said, her voice slipping back to something quieter and less steady, "But if I go home and wash the smoke out of my hair, maybe I'll be able to sleep." At least this time she had something to hold on to when the nightmares came. "And next time, I'll meet that monster on solid ground and I'll make sure he's off the streets for good."

Her hands curled back into fists at her sides. She didn't have the best track record with promises, but she would try.

Hearing the confirmation of his statement that they did it, even in the form of a question, was good. It meant that Cybele was acknowledging her part in this, the good part in this, hopefully.

The life saved.

One less person in the Negaverse's machine.

He caught the lessened steadiness in her voice and nodded in understanding. He was too familiar with Faustite at this point, unfortunately. The piped monster had drained people in front of him, harmed people in front of him, tried to take Encke's own life, likely was minutes away from taking Richard's, considering that man left him abandoned in a park, drained of nearly all of his energy, after near strangling him with a squid that had left Richard looking more shaken than Encke could have recalled seeing in years--

Usually, he'd discourage someone from immediately jumping to ending someone for good, but he had trouble doing that when it came to people like the smokestack youma captain.

So he didn't.

"Take a nice bath," offered Encke, with a grin. "If you can. You deserve it. Maybe get some nice smelling soaps or a massage bar or something to get rid of the smell. I do that, sometimes."

No shame in taking care of himself, he figured.

"Besides, I know it can be hard to take time for oneself with all the s**t going on, sometimes, but," he glanced away, just for a moment, before finishing off confidently with a, "feeling refreshed will help against anyone you run into out here." 'Including that monster' went unspoken, but he figured Cybele knew exactly who he was referring to.

Cybele nodded at his suggestion, which was something she probably wouln't have thought of otherwise. She had a habit of just cleaning up quickly and then falling into bed after battles. Winding down wasn't a terrible idea, especially with how tense things had gotten.

"I think I have a bath bomb in my closet," she said. "That sounds nice right about now."

She could feel the adrenaline draining out of her system and she knew the crash was coming soon. It was already starting in small ways. Her eyelids fluttered a bit, and her feet felt strangely heavy. She knew it wouldn't be long before even keeping up a conversation was too much

"Any more hunting can wait until after that," she said. If there were more auras around, more emergencies, she would have kept going until her feet gave out, but for now it seemed thankfully quiet. "I'm going to head home. It was nice to meet you, Encke."

She managed one more deep, proper nod, and a wave, after which she turned and started looking for a place to power down and call a cab.

A bath bomb. That did sound nice.

Maybe he could talk Richard into picking one up for him. For them? Did they have a bathtub anywhere in the house big enough to compensate for both of them to just sit and soak--

"Agreed," replied Encke, quickly, to the idea of waiting to hunt until after some relaxation, before offering a wave back of his own. "I hope we can work together again soon, Cybele."

And with that, he turned and headed back towards where he started his patrol.

Hopefully, he wouldn't sense anything else that night.
