An elbow jab and Jules was releasing her hand from his, returning her focus to dinner (and more than occasionally, her wine glass). "You're making a lot of assumptions there, Dallas, and at this rate, you won't get to see what I do or don't have in my underwear drawer."
It amused her, to hear of Knot's introduction to the cowboy in such fashion. She had her own way about her, dropping in unexpectedly and worming her way into their hearts. Probably why, in the end, it hurt so much to be left by her so suddenly. She came and went as she pleased and Jules had to accept that as simply part of her character.
"Slave driver. I had blisters for days after that first time he made me work in that barn of his. Just after free labor, I suspect. Lord knows anyone who'd want to work for this handsome brute, after all."
Besides Knot, of course.
Blue eyes watched carefully as she studied the newcomer slowly taking part in the dinner, a smile creeping up on her face between bites. Dallas was certainly warming up to her and Jules was as well. Perhaps Knot had an inkling that this was something all three of them needed?
