Teleporation. He hadn't considered he'd make that move in such a small, limited amount of space. Not a lot of officers bothered to use it in combat and even less were skilled to use it for such small, short distances. Teleporation was a way to instantly remove oneself from an attack or place yourself right in a more favorable position but it was also a draining exercise. The senshi wanted things to be done quickly and had the rank and power to provide it wtih chances to do that.

The kick brought him wanting to kneel forward, but it was one move Wolframite had not considered because it was not a move that had ever been done to it. A move that wasn't ever possible until now.

No one had touched his tail ever aside from itself and even then it was such a strange sensation that he had left it alone. To feel anyone touch it sent a instant reaction to tense which wasn't useful in a battle where loose and limber were more to your advantage to taking hits. Then it felt a pull that went up the tailbone and through his spine that summoned a noise of a yelping surprise that he had never expected he could have produced.

Embarrassed and shocked, it turned quickly to slash one arm out wide to get the other away from him while also trying to get him away from his back.

"Same." Now Wolframite wanted his blood for that move.

A cornered animal is more dangerous, Aue. Get away from him. Just use your magic.

Kamacite had cringed as it was apparent Aue was in more pain from the scratch than he otherwise let on. It wasn’t like Aue to show much of a reaction to cuts and bruises, but the change in his expression, the tightening of his jaw as he hissed, made it seem like there had been more to that swipe than Aue would let on to the others observing. Kamacite doubted he would have recognized the difference if he hadn’t trained with Aue for as long as he had.

There was no doubt in his mind that Aue was the stronger of the two. It would have been ridiculous to think otherwise. An Eternal against a newly re-corrupted Lieutenant. And yet, as Vitriol twisted around after being brought to his knees and then back, Kamacite had to make himself ball up his hands by his sides.

He wouldn’t use his magic. Not unless he thought it was absolutely necessary. They would all be subject to the effects, so it was better that he tried to avoid it at all costs.

But making Vitriol desperate. Cornering him into wild, unpredictable strikes, was incredibly dangerous. Aue should know that, especially after knowing how Kamacite reacted to similar situations. After all, it was Kamacite who often felt like the animal that was easily cornered with no option but to attack, and with no regards to self-preservation when pushed to that point.

Quartz stared at Faustite for several long beats, his expression grim. He didn't like the idea of this little pet-play scenario they were all engaging in, and he didn't want Idrialite too caught up in it either -- but he also didn't like the idea that he'd come back from his Florida assignment to deal with Schörl's recruits all up-jumped and jockeying quietly for position with each other. If Faustite hoped to find Quartz easily baited by interfering with his subordinates, he'd be disappointed. Quartz had no interest in office politics. He was only here to do his own job and stay alive.

"By all means," he granted, with a dismissive wave of his hand in the air. "Idrialite, go get your boots dirty."

UIdrailite had spent most of this little adventure observing, taking a more than mild interest in the workings of youma and the knowledge of what the Negaverse was willing to do to traitors. Not that he'd had any particular aims of going anywhere, but it was....good? Dubiously? To see that running would get you nowhere.

It was all very educational, and watching the Senshi and the creature--Vitriol, Faustite called it--duke it out was as well. Idrialite would confess to having little combat experience with Senshi, if pressed, though he'd fought the lovely Dullahan lady in the last tourney, and tangled with others a few other times.

A tiny exhale passed his lips when he was addressed. Of course. Such was his luck; it wasn't as if he could fade into the background, and he might as well prove that he was useful for something after all his time in the Negaverse.

"At your word, General," he said, and he strode forward, calling his toy musket to hand. He wasn't going to bodily get in the middle of what was going on, here, but he could at least tangle with Vitriol and see how it handled itself against a weapon that, Idrialite had to acknowledge, wasn't unlike what most Knights used.

Faustitite's voice rose above the sound of Vitriol's distress and the quick-step of their joined spar; Aue doubted that the half-youma would pick up on what was said but he had little problem. This was less strenuous for the senshi than his opponent, though finesse was needed to avoid grievous injuries on either side.

Vitriol yelped and twisted at being lifted, arching and trying to whirl around like an angry cat but without the flexibility of said to cat to actually manage the maneuver. Aue felt it's claws drag against his bracers, catching on the stiff leather as the beast jerked in his hold. Annoying. Know your limits, I have bested you. Further struggle will injur your spine, fight smarter. Still, Vitriol held a fighting spirit and had already shown it had more gumption than Heliodor had offered at the start, which was excellent - Aue could work with that. It was too emotional, too easily surprised by going for the obvious weaknesses in it's anatomy, but...it would learn.

There was obvious talk of having an officer step in to spar with Vitriol, which was fine by Aue. The more action he got to see, the better he would know the creature's capabilities, he did however want to make one point with Faustite's new recruit before it happened. It was a point of morbid curiousity and also an important distinction that needed to be put forth immediately: this team would not suffer idiots. Vitriol needed to learn it now. At the start. Not after breaking half it's body in a fit of moronic pique simply because it couldn't be trusted to use it's brain to reason out what would happen if x, y, z moves were followed through.

The corrupt made eye contact with Faustite and Quartz briefly, acknowledging them, that he understood what would happen next in this session. "A moment, please." Aue dropped Vitriol unceremoniously, moving from arse to head in one quick step with all the speed afforded him by rank. He pressed his hand to the back of the beast's neck, shoving down, forcing obeisance and holding it there; he bent to speak into one furred ear, voice low and vowels rounded as his accent came through. "You learn now. Seuraa is heel. You stay down or I make stay down."

It was a test. Aue wanted to see if this dog could use reason and logic where Wolfeite had been unable without extreme measures. I will know the measure of you today, Vitriol. Show me who you are.

The pain continued to pull the muscles and nerves from his tail into his arched back, raising the hairs of the thick appemdage grasped in Aue's unrelenting grip. Despite his own large arms, the senshi only pivoted away to be more center with the half-youma's back and in the blind spot and past the limits his body could reach. Only a clashing of the bracers could pick out the times he made contact but without being freed, he was unable to take a new course of action. He knew that kicking back would be just as ineffective. He needed to somehow direct the other to a wall to force him to stop moving but the circular room they were in would make it hard with the audience between them. They would notice his intentions far too soon.

Damn how he wanted to teleport.

With each moment he was off the ground and pulled from his back, he was being strained and the muscles would spasm and pull until fighting would become near impossible. He needed to stop this.

And then he hit the floor upon release. Quick to work to get up and attack was cut off in mid action when just as he was rising to all fours to stand, the weight of the officer pinned him down again. Gritting his teeth, he felt his chin dig into the hard crystal floor and heard all to clearly his voice whispering the vocabulary lesson.

It wanted to see them try. It wanted to bring him pain tenfold for the soreness in it's back and end. But there was an order. There was a confliction. Aue was a superior but Faustite had ordered him to fight. So, Wolframite looked to Faustite. His superior's order superseded the rest.

"Sir?"

It noticed the other officer approaching and hoped in a way it could fight both.

So like a youma. Faustite ground eir jaw, muscles tight, then tilted head in indication to listen to Aue. The demonstration was over, the basics confirmed: Vitriol could rake with poisoned needle-claws.

"Better to see it in rank equivalence." From subspace Faustite produced an orb, held so as offering to eir mildly battered recruit. Faustite's attention then turned to Quartz, ever taciturn, ever distant, but ever bidding his lieutenant forward nonetheless.

Faustite pronounced the name as sentence and invitation. "Idrialite."
PostPosted: Mon Apr 15, 2019 8:13 pm

It rose slowly, watching Aue move away and making note of him for later. There would be a spar soon. No doubt about that. It would find him to make sure that there would be no interruption next time. No authority to let them freely play together.

It eyes glanced as Faustite offered the orb but it did not take it. Its body was sore, twitching from newborn muscle and unfamiliar reaches, but its heart was racing and attention piked. It had not had much opportunity to spar and getting them in succession was a delight and made the pacing frustration of being restless in the barracks have a release.

It wanted to know what its body could still do.

Another officer came closer and it bothered it to some degree that their rank didn't match Aue. A demotion of power felt like a unspoken whisper that it couldn't have handled the general enough to at least kept itself alive.

"Officer." Vitriol said as Idralite approached, flexing its fingers and stepping back to allow them a agreeable amount of space. Droplets of blood were already drying on its face from the cuts from before. There would be no surprise for the other of what it could do with its claws now though a officer with a weapon also showed itself. Gun. Not many of those it had ever seen. Ranged but worse if point blank. If it went to its face again, it would be considered foolish for making the same repeated mistake to one of the most vital parts of its body.

It waited to see the other move.

Point made, Aue held the half-youma officer powerless to the floor seconds longer than was absolutely necessary to really sink the lesson in, then stepped away, offering a curt nod to the smouldering general. "My thanks for your indulgence, General Faustite." Vitriol's acid stung unpleasantly in his wounds, a reminder that washing would be needed.

From subspace, Aue brought forth a bottle of water. Wetting part of his colourful sash allowed him to dab at the affected cuts, soothing the sting of Vitriol's spit. A useful mutt to have around, yes. If it can hold onto half a brain, it won't cause nearly the headaches the Wolf did. Kamacite stood anxiously, alert and tense; the eternal of lemons offered the water bottle - not for drinking, but so that Kamacite could pour it slowly over the deeper wounds to flush them as he scrubbed the angry flesh clean.

"It will be good to see how it fares now."

It was only when Aue finally stepped away from Vitriol that Kamacite’s hands relaxed from where they were positioned at his sides. He couldn’t say he knew Idrialite enough to care if he underestimated the part youma and was injured. It would serve him right.

“Is that how you introduce yourself to everyone?” Kamacite quietly asked the other Eternal, his voice low and not intended for anyone else to hear as he took the bottle of water and carefully poured it over the wounds as Aue worked on them, trying to get the venom out.

Not that anyone else would really understand why he asked if they heard him. Back then, it had been a White Moon senshi who had managed to pin Kamacite to the ground until he stopped panicking enough to actually listen.

They’d both come a long way since then. And Aue hadn’t treated him like an animal that needed to be disciplined and trained, at least.

It seemed as though Vitriol had come a long way as well. Years of instinct and experience didn’t disappear with changing sides, even twice.

“You need to work on your agility,” he commented just as quietly to Aue.

It was a joke. Sort of. Just as Kamacite needed to work on his endurance and strength. They weren’t exactly built for it.

Idrialite took a moment to size up his opponent, considering. It was clearly inhuman, and had demonstrated some very inhuman weaknesses--the tail, particularly--but also inhuman strength. Those claws were clearly nasty, and dripping with poison.

Idrialite had no desire to go home with new scars he'd have to explain to Eva. She worried too much anyway, and any lie he could offer would undoubtedly sound worse than the truth, because in the lie, he'd have to play at being far less able to defend himself than he was. It would be so much easier if he could keep this dance at range, but unfortunately his gun was just for show.

Still, it had some heft, and without any sort of announcement, he turned it around and aimed the butt for Vitriol's solar plexus. An easy disable, if the hit landed, presuming the creature still had the appropriate internals.

More lerry after its poor performance before, Vitriol watched the other for any movement, expecting the man to point out straight and fire. Congealing droplets of blood hung from the bottom of it's chin and the lemon was drying, making its face feel tight and unpleasant. A red outline was now prevalent around its eyes, but it kept them focused on the other.

But instead of firing, they other moved in, spun the weapon about and went to use the blunt of the handle against it. It expected that out of other lieutenants with weapons that were more toys than anything else, but it had expected this one to at least be able to fire. Maybe it couldn't? Maybe it really was just a toy.

The other jumped back, letting the weapon catch its side instead, and then went down to swipe at the hand holding the weapon. Officers often relied too much on weapons and once their hands were useless to hold them, it made the job easier.

One thick brow quirked in response to Kamacite's sassy-but-quiet query; he did seem to have a penchant for meeting teammates with his fists. Being told he needed to work on agility was met with a low grunt to acknowledge he'd heard the words but had nothing to say in return; cleaning his wounds took priority, then watching Vitriol and Quartz's subordinate spar.

"This one...is a pencil pusher." He was not impressed with Idrialite's form to start - the fact that the man took time to think about his opponent's strengths and weaknesses was a boon, but. If he'd been watching Aue against the half-youma, then he ought to already have known. Ought to have been formulating a plan while the spar had been going, just in case he was called upon to join in - this was the sort of team he was on. Awareness was necessary, wasn't it?

Vitriol took a blow from the butt of Idrialite's weapon, responding violently in kind. Disarming him will end the fight. It's figured that much out...good. I wonder which will win. "This may be more interesting."

Quick on its feet. That was unfortunate for Idrialite, he knew. Especially since as much as he cut an imposing physical figure, and he could hold his own in a fight, he wasn't actually particularly combat-capable. Failure across two years of tournaments showed that well enough.

Claws impacted the hand gripping his weapon, and he hissed, and did indeed let it go, but being disarmed wasn't the end of the world. It was, in the end, a stupid toy, not any kind of actual danger to an opponent.

He kicked it out of the way, and then feinted another punch to the solar plexus, but brought his other fist around, aimed for the creature's face. That was already a vulnerable spot, thanks to the Senshi's attack, and Idrialite did not intend to play around or play fair, not when a single hit from those claws was likely to do more damage to him than he'd be able to respond with.

It really wasn't liking all this focused attention to its face and was more leary to anything that might take an eye out. The other officer didn't care for the toy but still retained enough confidence to not looked bothered. Trained. It was clear as day and it had to decide what to shield. It breathed out to take the first hit but blocked its face before it could get a right uppercut. As much as a good swipe to the face could really ******** up someone's military career, it felt that was just one line it didn't want to cross. It was the one thing it didn't wish on anyone.

"How about you avoid the eyes and I don't swipe at yours." It grunted, flexing a few clawed fingers to show how this could be a very bad attack.

Making a fist was harder for it and instead it dropped down and went to swipe the man's legs from under him but being mindful of any kicks it might get from dropping lower.
