Otto MoorThis certainly wasn't the first event Desdemona had agreed to accompany him to, but that didn't make it any less of a delight to have her there with him. And while Otto was not a huge proponent of the visual arts as a whole, he was definitely a fan of music. Though truthfully, any occasion to dress up nice and drink on another person's dime was a good enough reason for the blonde to attend. That he had a beautiful girl to go with him was an absolute bonus. And God, did she look gorgeous. There we times, many many times, where Otto still marveled that it'd been him she'd picked. Him she'd grown attached to enough to have wanted to bring him over to the side of chaos. His fingers ghosted up the along the curve of her side as they made their way into the ballroom, and he Dipped his head to murmur an answer close to her ear. "How about a drink?" To match her glittering silver the blonde was wearing a crisp white button down with the sleeves rolled neatly back, a black waistcoat buttoned around a trim waist, a stripped tie, and a pair of pressed black slacks. His shoes were polished and his hair had been combed back neatly. When push came to shove, the man cleaned up well.

Jason McClayre
Jason was used to attending events like this. His parents lived for these sorts of things. This time though, he could go enjoy the food and art without parental supervision. He had hoped Nischal might be able to attend, but he was busy. Instead, he had turned to Xi and a new pal Gabriel to enjoy the event with. Personally, Jason lived on art and music. The event screamed at him as something to enjoy. He didn't want to attend alone however, so he had dressed up his friends to tag along.
He wore a dark blue suit, with a tan vest and pocket square that he hoped made his eyes pop. It seemed a shame to wear it without Nischal around to show off to, but such an occasion called for dressing up in his best. He wouldn't be caught dead looking anything less then his best for such a fabulous event.
"I'm going to get in line now for a drink at the bar. I'll be right back." It looked crowded, so he wanted to grab something before they started to dig into the fabulous art around them. He gave his companions a nod before heading off.

Gabriel Sūn
Gabriel was not used to events like this at all. Yes, he enjoyed at and music, but he didn't go to fancy, high-class events to join them. He never really imagined himself caught in this sort of situation. Jason had invited Xi, and in turn he had been invited as well. Any chance to hang out with Xi was time well spent, in his opinion. It seemed like a good opportunity to bond with his new companions.
Finding something to wear had been another matter all together. Black tie required? He had dressed up for his prom and graduation and that was about it. For this occasion, he had rented out a simple black tux with a gold tie. Something Jason had recommended to him. His hair was pulled back as neatly as possible, but he didn't care enough to do anything terrible fancy with it. He had settled for keeping it as 'least messy' as possibly and that was about it.
Not old enough to drink yet, he didn't bother to follow after Jason. Instead he was left alone with Xi-Wang to explore the opening area. The statues were interesting, but surely the least of what was in store for the evening. Art was something he appreciated though and he was looking forward to what else they would be viewing.
He kept fidgeting in his tie, obviously uncomfortable in the get up. "Looking forward to a fun night?" He asked Xi-Wang who was still beside him. He felt a little awkward, which was weir because he didn't usually have such a hard time hanging out with friends. This was a new atmosphere though, and his attire wasn't helping at all.

Elle MooreElle couldn't really remember the last time she'd been to anything like this, not since she'd crossed over, had she really before that? It was hard to recall, sometimes things were still a little muddled, but nothing like this stuck out to her. "Isn't this place beautiful?" She her hands tightened on Nathan's arms as they made their way into the venue, and the petite redhead was practically buzzing with excitement. The invitation had come as a surprise, but she supposed with her connections to the DC Symphony it did make sense. She'd done well since her transition into this new life, advancing in chairs until she'd claimed first. She wondered if everyone played with the symphony had received an invitation or if it'd just been a handful of them. Well, either way it didn't really subtract from the experience. She'd dressed to the nines, having leaped at the chance to go shopping for a new dress and shoes, and was feeling particularly pleased with herself as she stood at Nathan's side in her Silvery gown and gladiator laced heels. Her nails were painted a silver to match, make-up understated and close to natural, and her hair had been done up in a wrap around braid and pinned with a matching comb. Looking up at her fiance the petite woman stroked her free hand down his arm, smiling up at him warmly. "Should we find our seats, or maybe get something to drink?"

Peter GalloHe didn’t notice Haven until she spoke, but when she did Peter’s reaction was an immediate grin as he turned to --
“Oh… wow,” he said before he could stop himself, then attempted to muffle his reaction with a closed hand to his mouth, politely covering a hopefully not obviously forced cough. This was Haven, after all. Haven that lived across the street from him and had been his rival for the years they went to Knightside together.
“You look, uh… nice,” Peter said lamely, shoving his hand once more back into his pants pocket. “I thought you might not come. Decided against training tonight?” Chris Gallo”Hey, I like my hair,” Chris frowned as he reached up to pat his hair down where it had been ruffled, although it was pretty unbelievable that he could possibly be upset. He had gone much too long feeling like death warmed over to be upset now. It was pretty unbelievable how quickly time seemed to fly by. He felt like it had only been yesterday that he’d awakened as a knight, and now he had a growing family.
“I don’t mind if we get a drink. We’re not driving home,” he said with a warm smile, glad to be up and about instead of quickly running out of energy. “You deserve to have some fun. And if we get bored here, we can just leave and find somewhere else,” he suggested.
Not that he wanted to be out in the city too late at night. With all the strange goings on, he couldn’t help but wonder if the Negaverse was behind it. Probably, since it was usually them. Why they couldn’t invest in finding a way to create their own means of energy was beyond him.
“What do you want? Wine? Champagne?” he suggested as they reached the bar and he looked up to see what they had available. Quote: Peter and Chris open for interaction!

Xi-WangEvents, big social ones, were not his thing. The only sort of event he'd ever attended, and he wasn't sure how social that had been, was the hospital one over two years back. He still tried not to think about it, because the event had seemed innocent but the hospital had been far from it, the whole event led to bad memories. He had an issue, at this point, with hospitals and clinics - for good reason. But he knew Jason wanted to go to this event so he'd agreed, though he'd told Jason though the other would need to figure out his clothing. He wasn't good with that sort of thing, and owned nothing suitable either.
"O-ok." Nodding his head he kept close to Gabriel, not wanting the other to escape his sight, he didn't trust events like this anymore - not in this city. He'd learned over the short amount of time being powered up, though it certainly didn't feel short, that anything happening in this city had a high chance of not being so safe.
"Mmm, a little bit." Though he still held little hope for the night ending well, perhaps he was just being pessimistic though. "We should find drinks and food also." Nothing like Jason was going off to get to drink though, since neither of them were of legal age yet. "Maybe they'll have some good food. If nothing we can get food after this." Reaching out, without even really noticing himself doing it, he gripped onto the others suit coat and held on as he kept at the others side.

Nathan usually was not one for parties, but Elle seemed so excited to go out and do something social, he had little choice. His suggestion of taking Hadaya as a date did not pan out to much, and he gave up his (largely feigned) protests and took to finding himself a suit. He managed to clean up well enough, with a black tuxedo and silver vest, with silver lining the lapels.
If he was going to go, he was not only going to go in style, but he was going to make sure everyone knew he and Elle were a pair. By matching the silver in her dress, though opting for black rather than white for the rest, he felt like he accomplished this.
He would still be on the look out for anyone checking her out, though: he was well aware of how gorgeous she was, and the dress only highlighted everything perfect about her.
"I've seen more beautiful things recently," he said flirtatiously, grinning ear to ear at his own cheese. He was not as impressed with the decor as she was, but he was willing to admit that it was a nice place. Fancy. A little too much so, for the former rough and tumble street tough, but still. If it made her happy to be there, then he was happy to tag along. The word 'drink' piqued his interest, and he looked at her pointedly, but offered a shrug.
"Is it early? I dunno what kinda food and drinks they'll have here, but hopefully it's good. We can check out the bar before we sit down, I think. Might as well stock up, in case it's as boring as I think it might be."

Dimitri"Yes. Yes I am, " he responded dryly, bored to the brink of exhaustion already. People meandering uselessly here and there like cattle. It was already too tedious for words. Dimitri tilted his head to glance at Lia, his lips pressed in a thin, thoughtful line. "It isn't a matter of hatred. It's a matter of boredom. I'm bored. I've lived enough of my life half-asleep with boredom." He waved his free hand dismissively. Dimitri might have been speaking quietly, but it was really very candid - she was part of his team after all, and by far the most entertaining one. "It's as boring to resist coming as to come. I learned a long time ago. If I do whatever I want as I am, it has an inverse impact. Say for example if I were to - " He gestured vaguely at one of the people in the room, no one in particular. " - punch them in the face. A bit extreme, but you get the idea. The fight would be a rush, yes. But it's not acceptable. Police would likely be called, charges pressed. Word would get out and my practice would suffer." He didn't mention that his family would likely get involved, the 'troubled' child he'd been. It was less relevant to the topic at hand. "To say no to you would've meant more discussion of it, and at least now I've got the promise of something more exciting to ensure it was worthwhile." Still. He sneered. "Better to be the clown. Look at all these people. Waiting and staring off blankly waiting for someone to go present themselves to their royal highness - these people come to things like these all decked in these ridiculously expensive, pointless outfits they'll wear maybe once, and then they just stand there like statues. Or as if they're awkward teens at an elementary dance. But, no, that's socially acceptable. It's exhausting just staring at them."

DesdemonaDid he ever clean up nice. Damn. A worthy piece of arm candy if there ever was one. It was funny, a little bit - for him having been corrupted, not much about him had changed, had it? - his personality, at least. It would be a lie to say their relationship (or whatever it was; she wasn't particular about labels), intense to begin with, hadn't become more of that. Not that it was a bad thing. Not remotely. Induction into the Negaverse had a way of changing people, especially when coming from the order. She was in her own way glad to see that though Ax may no longer be Ax, even as Otto, Ax was still there. Had a lot to do with his civilian memories being preserved, she was sure. Desdemona hummed contently at the way he touched her, goosebumps rising pleasantly along her skin when he murmured into her ear. "A drink sounds wonderful, handsome. - I wonder what sort of entertainment they'll have?"

Adel el-KadarWhile Adel didn't consider his work at the museum as artistic per se, Destiny City Productions had apparently made a series of large donations, and Adel and a number of the other department heads had been told in no uncertain terms that they were to attend this expensive soiree. Not that Adel had put up much of a fight. This wasn't strictly his sort of scene, but he found he could be comfortable just about anywhere, and he did enjoy people watching. Ayesha was supposed to be with him, they'd planned to attend together, but with it being midterm season she had a duty to her students and something had come up last moment that required her urgent attention. Adel wasn't upset, he understood how important her job was to her, but the night would be far more enjoyable in her company. If time permitted she she promised to make an appearance a little later in the evening, but there was no guarantee of it, and Adel wasn't going to let his evening hinge on her arrival. If she made it that would be wonderful, but it would be a fine evening if the cards didn't fall in their favor. One hand in his pocket, the other wrapped around the base of a wine glass, the man stood to one side of the bar looking quite nicely in charcoal over black. He had a black and white kifaya draped loosely around his neck and over his shoulders, and the hit of gold at his wrists were scarab cuff-links - a gift from the museum curator. He sipped his wine as he watched happy couples and solo guests arriving, curious if and when his fellow department heads might show up.

MalaiseAlcohol was always essential at an event like this, and it was made doubly appealing to realize there was a lovely lady waiting there at the end of the line, already looking exasperated with the wait as she tapped her heels on the floor. Fan or not, it was an option worth pursuing. Malaise sauntered up and joined the line behind her, just in time as someone else fell in behind him. "Such a long line already - , " he remarked, then added with a charming grin that was full of dangerous, "Pity to make such a pretty girl wait."

Sachio SugiyamaHonestly he would have never gone to one of these things, but the strange reports in town had him worried. He had only just upgraded to a super senshi, which meant that he had more power and more responsibility. So when strange things started happening yet again he knew he needed to get to the bottom of it, even if he wouldn't come out of it alive. From the reports on the internet and word on the street, he would have guessed some sort of hallucinogenic gas had been released into the city, something like in Batman Begins. Only this time the gas had been successful. So he had managed to convince his mother to send him his tuxedo and had made it to the great hall. Already it was buzzing with other people, and many were talking among themselves. Still though, he couldn't help but feel as though this was a trap. He decided not to partake in the food for now, not until he could see if it had any effects on any of the guests, and instead decided that he would look at the animals that had been scattered around the hall. He walked up to one of the tigers, admiring it, but still feeling a sense of dread. (( Sachio is open for interaction!))

Jacqueline MaazAs a photographer Jack liked to believe she had a good grasp on the arts, or at least on a very specific subset of the arts. She knew her composition, her colors, her lighting. She understood balance and contrast. She was, however, still a student, so it had been quite a surprise when she'd found the invitation in her mailbox. Delighted, and then instantly nervous. Going to a ritzy event like a gala meant buying a new dress, new shoes. It meant getting her hair done, and maybe even her make up and nails. It meant finding a date... It'd been the last she'd had the most trouble with. Not that she hadn't had anyone to call, but more that she'd put off calling, afraid of being turned down. It'd taken about a week to work up the courage, loose it, and finally just kick herself into action because time was very literally running out. So she'd called Brendan to see if he'd like to go. He'd asked her out back in December and that had gone well, and they were already friends, and he was very, well...very attractive. She'd requested he meet her there, and had of course arrived early. Now she was standing close to the entrance with her her hands wrapped tightly around her phone and held down in front of her. Her dress was a soft pink with a sleeveless sweetheart neckline and a skirt that hung at odd lengths in wide folds along dark legs. She'd paired it with matching heals and pearl colored nail polish. She'd had her hair done, an elegant bun with braids sweeping back into loops of curling hair. When she'd looked at herself in the mirror before she'd left she'd felt beautiful, maybe even a little surreal, but now she just felt nervous and little out of place...

Otto Moor"Then a drink it is," she remarked pleasantly, giving her side another light brush of fingers before cupping her hip with his palm as he started with her towards the bar. There were already a number of guests taking advantage of the open bar, and they'd have to wait a moment or two for one of the busy tenders to finish mixing drinks for one of the other many guests around them. Which was fine with Otto, it gave him time to admire his lovely date. Back resting against the counter, he reached for Dessy's free hand so he could draw her out in front of him, whistling lowly as he let pale eyes rack up and down the silvery dress and the lovely silhouette it cut. "Whatever entertainment they have wouldn't be half so interesting as you," he said with a grin, equal parts cocky and self deprecating. Cheesy on purpose, because he loved the shape of her smile when it wasn't on purpose. "But if I had to guess, based on the aesthetic of this place..." He pursed his lips in thought, head tipping to take in the decorations. "Acrobats maybe." Elle MooreIt was a very blatant line he was feeding her but even as she gave his arm a little swat she smiled, pleased to know her efforts for the evening hadn't gone unnoticed. Not that Nathan had ever failed to tell her how beautiful he thought she was, but Ellie didn't think she'd ever tire of hearing it. "A little early still, but I don't think that really matters, not tonight." How many opportunities like this did they have? In her opinion they should enjoy it while they had the chance, in any way they desired. If that meant helping themselves to a bit of champagne before the festivities really got around to starting, so be it. It wasn't like they'd be driving themselves home. "It looks like they have an open bar, so mixed drinks, I'd imagine." She couldn't comment on food, but they'd know soon enough, she was sure. "I think I'd like to start with some champagne, though." With a hum and a smile she tipped her head to rest her temple on her fiance's bicep as they made their way through the crowd to bar. As they neared it she looked up at him, drinking in the sight of him for what was likely the hundredth time that evening already. "Have I told you how handsome you are yet?"

Emmy turned slowly and was even slower to draw her eyes over this new arrival to her personal space, starting at the bottom and working her way up. On the positive side, he was easy on the eyes and even interesting, which was just what she'd been looking for. His suit had just enough of a pattern on it to stand out from the disturbing mediocrity while still fitting nicely into the black tie dress code. She liked that. On the negative side, she was already getting the distinct sense that this was a ********. She wouldn't complain. Entertainment was entertainment. "Isn't it?" she said with a smile. "Looks like someone knows how to stand out from the crowd. What's your name?"

Lia de LeonLia's head tilted once more as she listened, perhaps looking over everyone as he spoke to try see exactly what he saw. Though she knew she wouldn't be able to. She didn't see those things Dimitri saw. Didn't feel those things he felt. She also knew very well she was talking to a sociopath, and she wasn't looking to change his mind but...she did want to try to understand, even if it was just to scratch the surface. All people could do was try. Especially someone as simple as her when it came down to the core of it. "Buuut you're not half-asleep anymore." She replied. "And yeah, you can't exactly punch anyone's face in here because it will cause a scene but doesn't knowing that there is more outside of this half make it more bearable?" She mused. "You're woke, and you're not the same person you were before becoming fully awake. Nothing's the same anymore." It hadn't been for her, since she had been recruited into the Negaverse, everything had this new dynamic to it. "Besides, I don't know about you, but I'm not here to gawk at all the people being awkward tweens at a school dance---well, except maybe to make fun of them." She grinned down at the man. "Call it cheesy, but it's the truth. I'm here because I get to hang out with you, and it's fun, even if we're not in the right uniform." Her grin widened.
