If she were allowed to, Lydia would have spent the whole evening sharing kisses with Riley, each one sweeter than the last. She enjoyed the way they felt like they were still newly-weds or just learning how to be together despite how long they'd been an item and the woman hoped that it never changed.
She watched him go, whistling lowly and playfully.
When he returned with both plates and set them before his seat she frowned, confused. It only took a moment before she realized what he wanted and Lydia had pushed back her seat and taken the few strides needed to bring her towards her husband.
"You know that's my favorite way to eat," she cooed settling into his lap with a practice that showed she did it regularly. One hand slid across the back of his chair until her hand pressed against his shoulder. "You gonna feed me Ry?"

"You know I don't want you going anywhere else for that sweet tooth of yours."
While one arm wrapped itself around the smaller woman, it took little effort for his free hand to reach out and pick up the fork, expertly cutting off the tip of the cheesecake before dipping it in the pooling sauce along the side. It had taken him several tries - lots of tries, honestly - before he could use his non-dominant hand to help him out when they were being playful and romantic with each other like this but over time he'd developed a decent sense of ambidexterity.
The fork slid between her lips smoothly enough, Riley being a brat and chasing after her mouth for a stolen, even sweeter kiss as he kissed away the wayward strawberry flavoring from her.
"Well? Does it pass?'

Lydia looked up at him from beneath pale lashes, licking her lips to chase the lovely mixed taste of the strawberry cheesecake and her husband's mouth. Her fingers slid across his shoulders until they pressed against the nape of his neck and she started playing with the ends of his unruly blond hair.
"Mmm," she hummed, contemplatively before she leaned closer to rub her nose against his, "I think I need another taste just to be sure, of the combination of course." Lydia grinned at him, not even pretending to be coy because she knew he knew what she wanted and that he'd give it to her.
"I'm thinking yes, but I need one more taste to really decide." Nails gently scratched at his scalp while Lydia looked at her spouse with utter adoration. ghouliboo gaia ate my better tag ;;

He was all-too happy to indulge her with her request, cutting off another piece of sweet morsel and feeding it to the blonde.
His skin shivered with her tough, although he tried his best to keep his hand steady from letting it show. There was a slight wobble from his wrist but the aim was true and the fork made its way past her lips once more, soon followed by his own to catch any wayward crumbs or sweetness.
Riley knew that his wife had been given every opportunity under the sun to leave him and had chosen not to. Goodness knew that he'd offered her the chance on a near daily basis - he knew he was a lot of work to contend with, labeling himself a burden at times, even, but she was insistent that he was neither work nor a burden but the man she'd fallen in love with years ago and intended on continuing to love until their days on this world were up.
Gods, he didn't know how he'd managed to be so lucky to land such a wonderful woman.
The third forkful, however, was stolen for himself - a reward for not missing his first two, of course.
"Take your time," he murmured softly, "There's plenty for you to taste until you form your opinion."

Her mouth opened easily, savoring the taste of dessert on her tongue quickly followed by the sweet kisses from her husband. When he ate a bite for himself, she leaned forward to give him a chasing kiss in return.
Lydia knew that it would be easier if she just fed herself, but there was comfort in sitting in Riley's lap and having him care for her like this. With everything that he dealt with, she knew that it made him feel useful and appreciated and the woman strived to make sure that her husband knew that she loved him unconditionally, flaws and all.
"You did serve two slices," she hummed, running her fingers along the shell of an ear. "We have all night to taste and indulge," she reminded coaxing him to feed her another piece.
"Love you Ry."

Eyes closed as he felt her hand wander up to his ear, brushing gently against the outline and causing a small shudder to run through him. The cheesecake was sweet and fruity but it tasted even better with the flavor of her adding itself into the mix.
"Love you too, Liddy."
Riley was forced to take a deep breath before he could focus his hand and keep it from wavering. Another bite for her, another for him - they continued their makeout-dessert fest until there was nothing left but a few berries, each forked and fed like the cheesecake before it.
"Making stuff for you makes me happy," he admitted softly, squeezing her side with his other arm as his hand rested the fork back onto one of the now empty plates. "I'm glad you're enjoying yourself."

Once the dessert was finished, Lydia shifted the way she sat in her husband's lap. Instead of both legs resting on one side, she moved to somewhat straddle him, her spine pressing into the table if she leaned back enough.
"You make me happy," she told him, ignoring how cliche it sounded. It was the absolute truth and despite the fact that they'd grown up together, that they'd more or less spent their entire lives together save for when she was away for schooling, Lydia knew without a doubt that she was happiest when she was with her Riley.
She kissed his forehead, then his nose. Kisses to the corners of his mouth followed next, then along his jaw. Finally she pressed her lips against him, teeth gently nipping at his lip to get him to open his mouth so she could deepen their kissing.
When she drew back for air, she rubbed their noses together. "Are you ready for me to appreciate you?"

He gave her a lopsided grin between her showering of kisses, her sweet demeanor keeping the young man nice and relaxed. She had that way about her, Lydia's presence bringing a calmness to the storm that was always raging inside of his mind.
She was the peace keeper, the light he needed in his dreary life.
Even if she didn't realize how much of an impact she had on his own behavior, he made sure to remind her each and every day how much she meant to him - god help him should the day come that she ever felt he was too much of a burden to keep up with.
"Always," he murmured back, hands sliding down to squeeze onto her hips. "Always ready for some attention and appreciation from my baby."

Riley's response received a chime of laughter from his wife, the woman reaching for his hands to have them cup her a**. "Then carry me to the bedroom handsome," she murmured before stealing yet another kiss.
She could have easily slid off his lap and led him into their room but she much preferred having him carry her over the threshold whenever she could convince him to.
Lydia like to think that it made her Riley feel powerful, strong, and a little more confident. Besides, he never told her no to any request she made and when he carried her she made sure to show her appreciation with little kisses down his neck.
Then, she would spend the evening showing him how much she needed him to assuage any and all of his worries.
