By Alu's grace Hjortur just could not focus on this damn thing with one of Kel's here. It was just... so, so uncomfortable. Never had he truly empathized with her desire to just disappear until this very moment, not that her power worked on land.
Oh he was internally monologuing, that's not good. Kel's favorite midnight snack...? Uh... Mmmm... Wouldn't that be him? Nonono, there was absolutely no way he could say that with her son in the room. If they were going to go with food, he'd just have to wing it a bit. With a voice that betrayed the lack of confidence in his answer, he spoke up, "Why, a nice seaweed salad of course."

Okay, yeah, she had known what they meant with the last question. Sure. Of course. Masking her embarrassment, Chrysalis barely avoided making a face at the next question. She may have snorted softly though. Her love? Oh by the dark arts! As if!
Still, she had no idea. She'd only met the dark fauny this evening in a potential attempt to recruit her for more nefarious deeds. Who knew what she liked to eat? Besides, Chrysalis was still a bit buzzed from all the love in the air, putting her in an oddly decent mood. With a shrug, the cloaked stallion chuckled and aimed a side glance at the dark princess. "I'd say the souls of the innocent."

Nightmare Moon eyed the 'stallion' in pants and sighed. She shook her head, looking for any way to get off this stage when whoever was hosting this crazy 'game' stepped up again and asked another question. Groaning, Nightmare stomped a hoof furiously, the metal clanking against the stage, though it seemed drowned out with all the other contestants talking.
What even was going on?
Love?????
Nightmare Moon hissed when this so called stallion stepped up and offered their answer. Souls of the damned. Really? As thrilling as it sounded, Nightmare Moon doubted she could be sustained on that alone. Not to mention she had zero clue about this Queen Something-or-other nor what their favorite midnight snack was.
Recalling a brief glimpse of their true form, one word popped into her mind however, and she spat it out with a shrug. "Cheese?"

Azure was surprised, he hadn't expected Dyas to take it literally at all. Maybe he had been supposed to take it literally too. Well, that was a bummer. He and Dyas had known each other for ever they should be rocking this in perfect sync. It had only been the first question though, and even though it had amused Azure it was one that could be taken in a few ways.
Azure glanced at the other couples, wondering if any of them had been together as long as he and Dyas had been.
Ah next question. With tongue slightly in cheek due to his childhood nickname, but also because he knew Dyas liked them, Azure answered "Blueberries." Would that be what she answered too? He knew plenty of foods she liked, but he really didn't know her favorite favorite.

Dyas had been surprised when her husband picked her for the previous answer. Had she worn pants before? Or maybe it was a turn of phrase and not a literal question. This game was trickier than she had anticipated.
The next question was no easier. She didn't really have a late night snack. Eating in the middle of the night was one a nuisance to the other household members, and two generally unhealthy as it meant dinner hadnt been large enough to sustain you. Though she had endulged in this activity a few times admittedly when pregnant with the boys. What had she eaten then? Fruits...some vegetables. Jerky mainly however as it was easily on hand and salty. With a decisive nod she looked around for a piece of paper before deciding a quick head of a shadow from her own was faster. "Deer jerky." The puppet head spoke in what she imagined her head voice as. Then as quick as it materialized, it was gone again.

"Bounce? Ok!" Fraise started to bounce up and down for Zoran when the next question was asked. "Huh? Midnight snack?" Fraise stopped bouncing and looked to Zoran.

It was only after the first question that Kelebek noticed Zoran here. And with that angel girl. What was it with her sons and angels? Although, she noted after regarding Zoran's date, she did have a lot to.....offer. That must be it. Of course she loved her grandchildren to pieces but...surely the both of them could find nice Naiad girls.
Kelebek caught herself frowning and quickly changed her face into a sweet smile toward her beloved son. His choices were his own and, while she could fret, she wouldn't do more than that.
Oh dear, Kelebek realized, she'd missed the next question. Favorite food? Oh, that was easy. "Coconut prawns," she answered confidently.

"Me" He said with a goofy grin on his face as Fraise bounced with excitement. Wait, did he just say that out loud with his mom here?
"No nono, I meant, uhm, she likes peas, no, cheese. No it's bees! Yeah, no wait that's dumb, I know!! She likes honey!" He stumbled over his words then slunk down and moved to the other side of Fraise. He peeked over to watch his mom and her boyfriend. Maybe they didn't hear him say that.

Oh my, those all sound so delicious~ (obviously our little cherub host isn't exactly paying attention to the answers... Who thinks souls are delicious?) How about a question that could get us into some trouble...
"What is one of their more annoying traits?"

No. Oh no he did not just make such a vulgar innuendo about a lady in public. What kind of gentleman was he? Kelebek was certain she raised him better than that. She folded her arms across her chest, one eyebrow raised, chin tilted up, as if daring him to attempt an explanation. Although, that perverse sense of humor did remind her of someone...
The next question came through and her Disapproving Mom Look shifted to Hjortur. Now, normally Kelebek thought very highly of her lover, and couldn't imagine even having an answer for this question, let alone speaking it aloud in a public forum. However, her earlier slip and fall still fresh in her mind, today she had some thoughts about what she might consider an "annoying" trait of Hjortur's.
"The tendency to laugh at others' misfortune," Kelebek responded coolly, making uncomfortably intense eye contact with her date.

At least, that was Hjortur's reaction to Zoran's answer: the same answer he'd also thought of merely moments before. And given the aura seeping from Kel at this very moment... well... it wasn't hard to surmise he'd made the correct choice of action by not vocalizing it. Whew... She was practically seething. Guess he'd be the man in the room and calm her down. He placed a hand on her shoulder and smiled, but just when he was about to talk...
The host had a new question.
Kel's irritated look had shifted onto him.
A cold sweat broke out on his back. Oh no! What had he done to deserve this! Wait. He knew what he'd done. Ah man... Was she still mad that he almost laughed at how silly her power had made her look after the fall? Yep. Definitely still mad. Absolutely still mad. "Hey now, you know I didn't mean it like that... You tend to overthink these things." Subtle answer = complete.

She tilted her head thoughtfully at his answer of blueberries. Blueberries....oooohhhh yes that did make sense! She smiled a bit apologetically. Maybe theyd have better luck if she answered for him rather than him guessing for her?
At the new question the shetani blinked. Honestly he was a fantastic mate and husband...but...that wasnt to say there wasnt some things that were irksome. Again the puppet head surfaced for her answer. Dyas grimaced slightly, hoping the angel wouldnt be upset at exposing his bad habit. "He always tracks mud in from outside and doesnt notice." It was especially annoying when he did it right after she had cleaned!

Deer jerky? Azure sighed, that made sense. They really weren't on the same page tonight. And then the next question?! What were they trying to do, have him upset Dyas by bringing up his biggest issues with her. Oh no, he was not falling for that one, they were celebrating their anniversary! He was relieved that Dyas was going to be the one who answered, he could probably handle whatever insult she threw at him better than the other way around.
What insult would she throw at him? He paused to think about allllllllll the little things that he did that drove her nuts. The list was long, but there was one that stood out to him the most. When he went out digging for new rocks, he usually came home pretty dirty, and the looks she would give him... She didn't even need her shadows. "Dyas would probably say, whenever I dragged in dirt from outside..."

Actually, some cheese would have been nice about now. Hmm...
Oh crap, more questions? How long would this go on? As if it wasn't clear by now they were making things up? And now they wanted to know about annoying habits? Even if they had just met, Chrysalis had a list forming about as long as her arm already. But, where to start?
With a snicker, the grey alicorn waved a hand in the air near Nightmare Moon's floating hair as a gesture. "The whole magic space hair thing. It's always everywhere! You sure you can't control that or something?"
