Dea’s words didn’t really reassure him. But Noah nodded. He hasn’t been there the first time, maybe Paian and Eilam were as reliable as Dea said. He stepped closer when she took his hand, leaning to rub her back soothingly. He traced small circles over her shoulders.
“I hope this baby’s easier on you,” he said.

"I am not counting on it, love, babies can be quite active. However, since I have been through it before, I at least have an idea of what to expect,"Dea pointed out. She felt him rubbing her back, which helped a little bit and she greatly appreciated it.

Noah was worried about Dea's health--and that of the baby. How would they know if the baby was healthy? He had seldom been around pregnant women--they didn't make effective or safe spys, nor did team rocket seem to regularly recruit them. How did he know if all of this was normal?
"I'll research," he promised. It wasn't something he was willing to allow Dea to face alone. Paian and Eilam had helped last time, but this was different.
This time, it was his baby. And he'd take care of his wife.

"Dear, are you allowing your mind to get the best of you again? We will go to make sure I am right, they will test. Paian is pretty sure, but never want to assume such things, even with his expertise. Then the doctor will see how the baby is doing, if they can,"she assured.

Noah was reassured by Dea's words. He continued to rub her back soothingly, hoping to calm the nausea at least. He didn't want her to feel so ill. "Alright," he said. "We'll have the doctor check you out, and Paian too."
"Will soup make you feel better?" he asked. She had to stay hydrated!

"I will have Paian call in an appointment for me as soon as possible. As for soup, that does sound kind of nice. I don't know if it will help, but it would definitely give me some nutrients that I need,"she answered.

“Alright,” Noah agreed with a nod. He’d make soup while she had Paian do that. He placed a kiss on the top of her head before heading to the kitchen. Chicken broth had nutrients that would be healthy for her and the baby. He’d have to research what else was healthy for the baby... He’d be sure to have Dea eat whatever was healthiest.
“What do you think the baby will be?”

Paian went to help Dea up while Noah went to start on the soup. He led her out to the kitchen, before going to make the phone call to her doctor.
"I don't know, could be either gender, dear. As long as the baby is healthy, I don't mind either way,"she answered.

Noah started cutting carrots into rounds. He was heating chicken broth over the stove and looked up to smile at Dea. "I feel the same way," he said. As long as the baby was healthy, he was happy. "I can't wait to tell Mom," he said. "How should we tell her? Or do you want to surprise everyone?"
What kind of nursery would Dea want for the baby anyway? Would it depend on the gender?

"Hmm, maybe we should have a party or lunch, where we have our parents come over. Then we can tell them then, so they are the first ones after those in this house to know we are expecting. How does that sound, love?"she asked him.

“We could do that,” Noah agreed. “A party would be nice. We could have cake, too!” He beamed at her. He’d always liked making ordinary things a special occasion—but this wasn’t ordinary! This was their baby they were celebrating! “You call mine, I’ll call yours?” He offered.
“We don’t have to do anything big,” he added, thoughtfully. “Our family together’s big enough,” he looked to her with a grin, “we’ll have to plan enough food for all of us.”

"Yes, we could definitely have some cake with it. I think calling each other's parents would be best. If I call mine, they may suspect something is up with how I am speaking. And don't worry, we will definitely make sure there is enough food for everyone,"she assured.

He smiled at her. Yes, Grayson would probably be able to tell something was up if Dea called him. Come to think of it, he’d probably be able to tell if he called him. The man wasn’t a Pokémon professor for nothing.
“Alright, we’ll call each other’s parents. Do you think they’ll be happy?”

"I don't see why they wouldn't be, since this will be another grandchild for them to love. It is something good for you, after all Team Rocket put you through, dear,"she reminded. She knew her father would sniff her out easier, he knew her too well.

Noah kissed her cheek. Yes, it was a good thing. He hadn’t thought life could go back to normal after things he’d been through, but it had. It was better than normal! They were going to have a baby.
“This baby will make everything better.”
