Cavansite was quiet for a long, time after the page had finished speaking. Part of her wanted to just…lash out. To demand to be taken home…to do something to just…either prove that she was in fact a monster…or do something to prove that she wasn’t.

But one thing she knew…was that this wasn’t what she had wanted. Not what her half assed imagination had cooked up in the three minute conversation that the two had before coming up here…and she was disappointed. Again.

Perhaps she would be less of a fool if she stopped demanding to see these special worlds which belonged to knights…perhaps she would be better off just closing off her curiosity for good and doing what she knew she was supposed to.

With a sigh, the General flopped backwards, spreading her arms and letting her fingers dig into the cool, soft sand. “I enjoy it. Being a murderer. It’s how I was introduced into this war. My General was a bit of a…She’s…” There was a wry smile on her face, and though she sounded unsure, she didn’t look unhappy. “She’s a hoot. But she’s a bit stab happy…and I suppose it rubbed off on me.”

Her head turned to once more watch the page, admiring her curves, and the way her hair fell in gentle waves…

“…You know, you’re quite beautiful.”

For several long seconds Einhornhohle simply watched the General. Unsure how to respond to her last comment, or if a reply was even expected, she shifted uncomfortably in the sand. “Thank you" The Page spoke quietly as she removed her shoes and buried her feet beneath the sand and rested her chin upon her knees.

So much of what the woman said bothered her to no end, especially the part where she confessed to enjoying killing people. At least if she had desired this other General had made he then maybe the might be something to work with. But now she had to wonder if this quest she was conscripted into participating in was something she could do or if she was doomed from the start to fail completely.

After many minutes had passed, Einhornhohle drew in a deep breath and exhaled slowly as she tried to gather courage to continue the conversation. “Do you want to change?”

“If you enjoy what your doing, what you've done… What is it you want to be saved from? Why do you seek redemption.” For a long while the page refused to meet the General’s eyes, too scared of what she would see staring back at her. Instead she started unblinking at the horizon, where cloudless sky met stunning blue waters in an infinite line.

Cavansite was quiet yet again, letting the words sink in but at the same time...trying her best to just will them away. She sank her hands as deep as she could in the soft sand, hoping to hide the fact that they had started trembling. If they trembled in fear or anger, she couldn’t quite tell.

“What kind of a question is that?” She blustered, utterly unable to look at the blonde now. Her face was flushed with a mixture of embarrassment and anger and the General bit her lip to stop herself from saying more.

Finally though she shook her head. “You know what? Just forget it. This isn’t what I asked you for. So, please just don’t bother with your words anymore. I don’t need them and I suppose I no longer want them either.”

There was nothing she wanted to be saved from. Nothing she needed to be saved from. This had been a stupid idea and she was regretting even asking for the trip up here.

...It was hurting nearly as much as her trip to Tanias. “I wanted you to lie to me. To make it seem as…” For a moment she turned back towards Einhornhohle and swallowed. The mask was gone from her face and there was a deep longing in her expression, mixed with fear.

“I just wanted to hear that I was worth saving. I guess. But it’s stupid. Take me back.”

She wasn’t worth saving. She would always be a monster.

That wasn’t at all the reply Einhornhohle had been expecting. “I’m sorry…” The page tilted her head back and looked up at the cloudless sky. “When you grow up as the youngest of four with three older brothers you learn that sugar coating things gets you in more trouble than what it’s worth.” While it may have swayed her parents or the sibling she wanted something from, swift retribution often came from those who got burned.

Worrying her lower lip in deep contemplation she tried almost frantically to think of a way to turn the situation around because going back right now, as things currently are, meant certain death; she would become nothing more of an ornament on the General’s uniform as the Cosmos page before her had become.

A few moments passed before the Page finally stood up, her feet sinking into the warm sand as she shifted her weight. “I meant what I said, you’re not a prisoner. Unfortunately,” She paused, not knowing if the General was aware of the restrictions pertaining to Wonder visitations. “I don’t know of a way to send you back without me being the one to escort you there which means I won’t be able to come back here for another month.”

“How about a compromise?” Einhornhohle leaned forward, took ahold of the hem of her dress, and pulled it up and over her head leaving her in nothing more than her undergarments; a lace tube-top style bra with a gold star clasp in the back and underwear to match with a gold star band around the waste. “It seems to me that we both clearly just need to get away. To be free from whatever life we live in Destiny City.”

“So how about… Just for an hour, two at the most” She quickly added somewhat hopeful that the General might agree. “Forget that I’m a Page of Cosmos and that you’re a General. There’s nobody here, just you and me; nobody watching. Hell, for the number of times I’ve visited I have yet to see a bird or butterfly.”

“Come join me,” Einhornhohle reached a hand out to the General, to help the woman stand up. Worth a shot. “I don’t know about you, but knowing that there are no gross fish in the water makes me want to jump in.” And by jump in she meant to climb onto that outcropping of rocks just beside the cave entrance and just take a leap of faith into the cold turquoise water. That is, so long as her ‘guest’ agreed.

Cavansite glanced up at the blonde, surprised at this information. A month. She wouldn’t be able to come back here for a whole month? Why…Cavansite herself could go wherever her heart desired whenever she wanted and here this side were restricted from going to a place that was theirs for so long?

What a rip off.

For a moment, she almost said something, though got quite distracted when the page began removing her clothing. Cavansite stared, confused though not unhappy, and finally when the woman’s words reached her brain she shrugged, taking the hand. “If you can’t come up for that long. Sure. I’ll…yeah. I’ll join you. For a while.”

She glanced around, still unhappy, then shrugged again, then let go of the hand, using both of hers to pull off her boots. She tossed them onto the sand where they flopped over, rather comically. “Why not. The water is beautiful. It might be nice to go for a swim.”

The breastplate and shoulder pads were a little more tricky but she managed to get them off too and tossed it with her boots. Cavansite stood in only her bodysuit and held her hand back out to the page, giving a surprisingly soft smile. “So…let’s go then. Let’s have some fun. Because…you’re right. Nobody’s watching. I can’t get into trouble for this, and neither can you.”

…They were safe here. It was a strange feeling but…

It wasn’t a bad one

“Since I’m not a huge fan of just walking into cold water, if you don’t mind, I’m going to go up there,” Einhornhohle pointed to a decently flat part of the cliff about fifteen feet above the waters glistening surface which could fit maybe five people comfortably. Too bad there wasn’t a rope swing, now that would be fun.

“I’ve learned from years of torment from my older brothers to not be, as they put it, chicken s**t and just jump in.” While their jesting would often be in good fun, they’re the sole reason she gets so violent when startled. “Otherwise I would find myself physically carried to the end of the dock and thrown in a lake… and that’s if I’m lucky. If they were feeling particularly nasty they would either drop little crabs on me or chase me down the beach with a gooey duck. By the way, if you don’t know what that is don’t scare yourself by Googling it when we get back. Just trust me when I tell you they are gross as all hell especially when someone puts one on your back while sunbathing.”

When finally Ein stopped to take a breath she looked at the General. A light blush swept across her face staining her ears a deep red after realizing she had basically just monologued a life story to someone who more than likely didn’t care. “Sorry,” She reached a hand up to scratch the back of her head nervously. “TMI… Anywho...” Her gaze swept back over to the ledge. “Care to join me?”

Cavansite was smiling, wondering why she had ever thought this woman was annoying. She was adorable…and for a moment, she just nodded. “Yeah. I’d like to join you. It’ll be fun.”

She knew the words meant more than what they were on the surface, but she hoped that Ein wouldn’t realize…it would be bad for her reputation but…this place…

Was magical. And Ein was beautiful…and she wouldn’t mind having the blonde as her friend. And perhaps…one day…if Cavansite ever managed to take that final step…she could bring the cosmos page to her own wonder.

She grinned suddenly and drew Ein into her arms, teleporting them to the top of the ledge and setting her down. “Yes. I very much care to join you. Very much indeed.” But…that would take time…and a lot of choices she couldn’t quite think about making at this point in time.

So. She did what anyone would do. She took a running leap and jumped off the side of the cliff, shouting in surprise and laughing at her own stupidity.

What a time to be alive.
