Ignacio couldn't help a bark of laughter, pressing further back in his seat as a fit of snickers followed the image. Incredibly over the top. It sounded amazing. Honestly, Ignacio wanted it. Just for the novelty. To wear for five seconds. Just long enough for Richard to see him and tell him to please change into something else, or alternatively, die laughing just as hard as Ignacio was already dying laughing at just the thought of it.

"That's absurd!" exclaimed Ignacio, grinning. "That sounds like just the kind of s**t I love. You know, I bet my brother-in-law would be all over that..." Lee? Absolutely. No question. Maybe he should ask Sadie where she had seen that nonsense--

Wait.

As he continued to relax into the warmth, some of the shiverings started to lessen, and he seemed considerably less tense than he had when she had walked in. He was even still managing to ignore what was glaringly different about Sadie since the last time they had met, relieved to see her smiling and giggling too. Whatever had happened, it couldn't have been good-- "You're a designer?" asked Ignacio, curiosity piqued. "I guess I shouldn't be surprised, you being Neptunian and all. They're the artsy knights, right?"

Not that he knew a whole lot of Neptunian Knights. Just ... seemed like the right fit.

"But yes! This is comfortable. Also goofy. And warm. I love it."

"Oh, you like the extreme stuff?" There was mo judgement in Sadie's voice, but there was a small, almost mischievous twitch to her eyebrow. "Well. Next year. Be ready."

If she was given freedom from the chains of traditional fashion norms and ease of movement, she could hopefully be either beautiful, terrifying, or hilarious. In a best case scenario, it would be all three at once, but it would be awhile bofore she could try her hand at that. Alternatively, she could see if those unicorn sweaters were on discount now.

"Oh, yes, I'm a graphic designer," she said, and again, it didn't feel quite right that that hadn't come up yet. "I do websites, not clothes, but the concepts are really universal when you get down to it." She could probably try switching over to sweater design if fashion wasn't such a cesspool of capitalism, sweatshop labor, and cutthroat competition.

His comment about Neptune hit her oddly coming fresh off the heels of her last visit to her wonder. She leaned back into the couch and ran a strand of hair through her fingers. "Maybe. I haven't really sat down and talked with any of the other Neptune knight. I've been-" She trailed off, her thoughts flashing to her months of being holed up, her few conversations with her fellow knights being short and awkward. "I do hope that my skills come from my years of art school and not my bloodline." She swallowed, not feeling like she should hide everything, either. "If you're ever interested in more serious conversation, there's more to that story, now."

"Looking forward to it!"

Getting obnoxious gifts was exactly the kind of thing that made Ignacio holler with laughter. On some level, it was part of why he liked the sweater Sadie gave him. By itself, it was just a nice galaxy sweater. But then there was a cat head with a Santa hat just casually floating in the middle...

A graphic designer? Ignacio's brows raised in interest as she talked about the concepts, and he thought about possibly following up with that further. He did have a lot of connections in the acting industry, and there were always people looking for graphic design, whether it was for a new movie poster or specifically for the sponsored websites for the movies. Maybe he could be of use here...

It took all of Ignacio's skill to not immediately look to her eye when Sadie ran a hand through her hair. He wanted to ask, he did. It didn't feel appropriate. Not when she was finally relaxing on some level, not when she looked cheerful, not when he hadn't seen her in so long. He suspected the last one was related to the eye, but--

He chuckled, "Well, for what it's worth, they likely did come from your years of work. As an actor, I know how fine arts schooling is." If she was looking for proof that Ignacio Araya was the actor she saw online, that would have probably confirmed it. It was interesting to mention his actual career in front of people who knew of his other side... "You sound like you know what you're talking about, at least. I'd be interested in seeing some of your designs at some point."

After a pause and a deep, relaxing breath, he added, "And I'm always willing to be an ear if you want to have a more serious conversation. Especially when it comes to anything about space, admittedly," a laugh, "but really, anything."

It wasn't hard to smile. It wasn't hard to be really, truly happy sometimes, to laugh light as air at a cat sweater, for example. The problem was that the littlest reminder could start to turn all that on its head, could send spikes of ice up Sadie's throat and make her face burn even though the wounds were all healed, now. Thinking too hard about Irving was sending her there. She swallowed again, tried to ground herself by tugging some more hair from behind her and winding it through her fingers.

She'd thought she could keep it together, but maybe she should have stayed home. At least he liked the sweater, so maybe that was worth it.

She tried once more to keep things light. "You're an actor?" she asked. "I was wondering. I was trying to find you on social media and it looked like you were a little, um, famous." She did smile again at that. It was always nice meeting someone on the less starvation fueled end of the artistry world. Not that she was doing terribly, herself, but she did like to dream bigger, sometimes.

Ignacio was being very kind about all this. He even said she could talk, which was good, as she'd never been good at the little lies, at saying she was fine when she wasn't, although the other option, telling the truth, wasn't easy either, and she had to breathe for a few seconds. Still, he was the one who would probably understand all this the best.

"I went up to try to work things out with Irving," she said, then. "And well, he did admit to using the cove to assassinate people, so at least the mystery's resolved, but, um, he was so, so angry at me for," she swallowed, "um."

The words still didn't come. Her breath felt thick now, and like it was a matter of time until she cried. She reached up instead, pressing her fingers into the socket and pulling out the prosthetic eye.

"For that, as I'm not pretty enough to lure people to their deaths the way he did, now."

The eye went back in, and she relaxed back, feeling a little better for having said it.

Was Sadie okay? He noticed that she was fiddling with her hair more. He often ran his hand through his hair or toyed with it on occasion as a fidget, but that wasn't a habit he had noticed from her before--

A little famous? At that, Ignacio couldn't help a sheepish smile. "Well, if you ever need some connections," suggested Ignacio, with a shrug, "you know I have them."

After that, he stayed silent, letting her tell him about her new experience on Neptune. As she carried on, he appropriately let the expression on his face shift, at once going from comforted and happy to surprised and even incredulous. He supposed the fact that her ancestor had used Pendour as a place to assassinate people explained a lot. It probably explained more than Sadie wanted it to explain.

Irving was an assassin.

That didn't fit with Sadie even in the slightest.

Nor did the prosthetic eye, really, and there was a part of him that couldn't help a very small wince when he saw the prosthetic eye pop out.

That would take some getting used to.

It took a moment, but after a moment, especially after seeing Sadie relax, Ignacio frankly replied, "Honestly, your ancestor sounds like an a*****e." And with that established, he added, "For what it's worth, you're gorgeous, prosthetic eye or not. If he's gonna be disappointed you can't lure people in to murder them, he's not in control of the wonder anymore, so his opinion doesn't matter anyway."

Sadie had sunk back into the couch, not quite as fidgety with getting everything off her chest and especially with Ignacio being such a good listener.

His response was close enough to what she'd been thinking when she'd run back to Earth that she ignored the language and gave the tiniest smile, but then she shook her head.

"I think he was trying was trying to do what he thought was the best, what was the kindest, the same as the rest of us do. Well, except maybe those sick with Chaos, but even on our side, people do such things. I've talked to a few," she said. She didn't understand, especially now, with her injury, why people were so quick to think that causing more pain was a good solution, how hurting lives through pain or the death of others would do anything to help the city, or the spread of Chaos. However, she could accept the way they felt and try to be gentle with them in turn.

"But thank you, Ignacio." She did appreciate the vote of confidence, even if most people weren't as good of actors as he was. She could bear the stares, but she didn't like the way that she felt intimidating, now.

"I think he wants me to try to follow in his footsteps anyway, but I would never." She shook her head again just thinking about it, but not too harshly. "The wonder was a place for beauty, for healing, relaxation. He was the one trying to change things. I'm understanding that. I just wish that he would calm down a little so I could go up, even bring someone, without him going judgemental." There was a lot of work to do on the cove, and she knew Encke had wanted to see it, too.

That thought was interrupted by the kettle whistling, and she perked up. "Oh, it's ready," she said. "Did you decide what you wanted? Not more chocolate, I'm guessing."

He couldn't help shaking his head in somber disapproval when Sadie mentioned other people on their side doing similar things to her ancestor.

Ignacio was in agreement with Sadie that just murdering the other side wasn't a particularly good idea. Even if he would agree with those that took those methods that there were some people that did not deserve to live, it took a lot for Ignacio to come to that decision. What would killing them do to others? Were they an active threat? How active of a threat were they? What had they done? What were they currently doing? Could they be convinced to stop? Could they be stopped at all, even by force? Would it be more productive to bring them into the authorities? Would it be more productive to find a group of people to judge them? Would it be more productive to talk to them or simply to get in the way?

He did not like acting as the judge, jury, and executioner. That wasn't his job, that wasn't his place, and it was something he didn't feel comfortable doing. He understood why some chose that route, but like Sadie, he was generally in agreement: fighting pain by causing more pain generally didn't resolve anything.

"Nothing to thank me for," responded Ignacio, albeit a bit late, with a gentle laugh. "I'm serious." Prosthetics didn't mar someone's beauty in any way. The fact that her ancestor thought so, especially for the specific reason he thought so, innately irritated Ignacio. His grin widened when she mentioned what the wonder was for, and he nodded in agreement when she said that her ancestor was trying to change things. He was definitely wrong for doing so.

"But even if he doesn't calm down, I'm still willing to deal with him if you ever want someone to go up with you. I still want to see the cove, after all." And he liked talking to her, anyway.

And Pendour sounded nice.

"Also, are you seriously asking me if I don't want chocolate?" at that, Ignacio laughed once more. "Please, I love hot chocolate. But we also have a chocolate chai in the pantry if you wanna get that. I think it's on the second shelf."

A pause. "Or just chai in general. You can make yourself something too if you want, by the way." A part of him still felt a little strange not getting up and doing it for her--he needed to be a good host!--but she had offered...

Space was the exciting part of all this, even with the current Irving situation, and it seemed like Ignacio was even more giddy about it than she was. His smiles were contagious. Sadie wondered, with him looking this happy just talking about it, how he would be at Pendour. Maybe he would like the stage.

"I'll take you up sometime," she said, the smile reaching her eyes again."It's only fair. It's my turn to host the picnic. I was hoping to have things more worked out first, but if you don't mind the mess and the ancestor, there's a lot of lovely there." She'd offer to take them now if she could, but she was no Transcendent Eternal. It was weeks before she could go again.

"And yes, I was asking if you didn't want chocolate," she said, leaning forwards as she stood, eyebrows coming together the tiniest bit, "As five minutes ago, you were an ice sculpture, and the hint as to why was hot chocolate. I think it would take me more than a day to try again." She walked over to the doorway before turning back with her usual soft smile. "Well, with luck, this batch will be the antidote."

She vanished through the doorway and found herself in the kitchen. The screeching whistle stopped soon enough, but it was followed by quite a few cupboards opening and shutting, perhaps more than if Ignacio had been with her, then the clank of spoons against ceramic. She was careful not to touch more than she needed to, though, and it wasn't so long before she was back with two mugs of classic hot chocolate. She handed one off and then settled back down, blowing on hers before sipping it.

She winced, but then relaxed. It was hot as hot and sweet. "It doesn't taste cursed," she said, glancing over.

Perhaps common sense would have told him that drinking more hot chocolate after hot chocolate turned him into a cold ice cube for a few hours would be a bad idea.

But then again...

"Eh, that was free hot chocolate from a sketchy truck." At this, Ignacio grinned. "That is hot chocolate that I bought for myself and Arra a few days ago."

He waited patiently for Sadie to return, content to just bask in the warmth of the blankets and the sweater as the warmth gradually returned to his body. It would probably take a while, and his fingers still felt stiff and cold, but he felt so much better than he had earlier. He no longer felt like he was about to turn into a literal ice cube, anyway, and the blue seemed to be leaving his fingers. Was it the sweater or just the presence of friends that was helping?

... That was cheesy as hell.

Happily, Ignacio took the hot chocolate from her, settling back into his seat as she took her own sip. A little more daring, he went ahead and took a sip without blowing on it, and let out a happy sigh. "At the very least, it doesn't taste like that other hot chocolate."

And with a wink, he added, "And, also, I can handle a mess and an a*****e ancestor. Bring on the space picnics."

She took a closer look at the mug of hot chocolate in her hands, despite it being almost certainly too late if something was awry. A curl of steam rose from the top. Lovely bubbles clung to the side of the ceramic. It looked innocent, and if old stories were to be believed, something fairly purchased should be safe. Then, so should be things fairly given. Hmm.

Either way, she took another sip. "It's delicious, actually," she said. "It might even be worth freezing for, if it comes to that."

Although she did truly hope Ignacio wouldn't have to go through all that again. She hadn't missed the fact that he could get out full sentences now without attacks of shivers, and that he was slowly coming closer to a natural color. She was glad of that. Some selfish part of her was glad that he looked happy, at all, that he still smiled about space, that she hadn't scared him away with her scars.

And so she smiled her old, gentle smile into her warm drink. "When I can again," she said. "Next time we can have our own little vacation."

At that, Ignacio quirked a brow. "Well, I hope you don't freeze. Not recommended. Zero out of ten honestly." Fuzzy sweaters with cats on them, hot chocolate, and conversation, though? That was recommended. He was good with that.

Ignacio seemed to fully melt into the couch, perhaps pleased he was actually warm enough to make jokes again without his teeth chattering. Then again, perhaps he was just pleased with the idea of going to space.

"I'd like that, I think." He grinned. "You'll just have to let me warn Richard first."
