Arthur's tail puffed and his hair slightly raised as he covered his eyes. Having them dilated in the dark and going to full light hurt and he pressed the pads of his hands against his eyes. "AHH!"
Hissing, he rubbed at them before he squinted into the light to try to see again. Slowly lowering his hands, he looked around. "It's.....just a room." He turned about a few times and saw nothing dangerous or at least nothing he had been expecting. It looked similar to some kind of station or even control room with symbols and panels that made no sense to him.
Curious, he looked around and stepped close to a panel. "What does this place do?" He said, slowly lowering a finger down to push a button.

When Arthur's hand hit the control panel there was the panel blinked and there seemed to be a bunch of static sounding gibberish. There was then another screeching noise as in front of them a door opened but only partially enough that one would have to squeeze through to exit. Ananke just clapped her hands in amazement that Arthur had managed to open the door. "That was amazing Arthur!" Ananke then looked at the door. As she approached it she noticed it seemed it was just as dark on the other side of the door. "Do you think its a good idea to keep moving forward?"

Arthur smiled sheepishly. "I guess it's just my....uh...Mauvian intuition." He did however not touched any more buttons, not sure if he might open the floor to a pit or drop the ceiling down.
I should stop watching adventure movies at night.
Moving over, he looked out into the dark, cat eyes dilating as he tried to make anything out.
"Well, we can't spend all day inside of here. This is your place after all. We need to find out what state it is in. I can go first if you are afraid?" He asked, tail curling between his legs.

Ananke looked starry-eyed as Arthur mentioned intuition as she completely believed him. She then took a deep breath and shook her head. "No its okay... I should be the one to go first." With that she walked to the door and turned sideways to squeeze her way through the opening... outside the building... could she really even say that? She saw some lights flickering here and there but as she looked up it seemed this whole place was inside something. As she walked forward her shoes clicked on metal until she heard the crunch of old soil... As she looked around there seemed to have once been plantlife and trees where all dead. There was this strange feeling of emptiness inside her. She couldn't imagine what this place was once like... and it didn't really feel familiar to her... but still the tears seemed to fall from her eyes.

It was a good thing he wasn't large in the stomach else he'd have to change to get through the gap. Turning sideways, Arthur squeeze himself through the door and breathed in, holding his breath before he got out the other side. There sometimes was advantages to being a smaller creature.
On the other side, even his ability to sometimes see in the dark wasn't able to pick out much, but he could make out Ananke and went over, taking her hand.
"Let's not get lost here." He said, and followed with her. His feet could feel the colder metal until he felt soil, and that felt promising somehow. It meant they were heading possibly outside.
"You okay there, Ananke?" He asked, having heard her go silent for some time.

Ananke's eyes were covered and she gripped Arthur's hand tighter. Ananke opened her mouth and her voice sounded a little deeper than usual. "We... can't go outside..." And with that more lights flickered illuminating the dead park before them and some buildings in the distance. If one has better eyesight one could notice that they're clearly standing in a town that seemed to be underground. Ananke breather deeply for a second and her voice quickly changed back to normal. "Huh... I feel... kinda tired for some reason... Oh, Arthur, I'm sorry I didn't mean to grab your hand." Blinking the light that had turned on went on turned off and only a few remained. "Strange I was hoping to come here to maybe learn some more about myself but I really don't feel anything... It's probably silly but I was kind of instant connection. But let's go look-" And with that, her legs buckled and she started to fall forward.

Arthur left she knew something more but wasn't telling him, but it wasn't his place to press. Instead, he gave her hand a squeeze. "Don't apologize for holding my hand, ever. Okay? I'm here for you." He said, hearing the differences in her voice.
Just as she started to move, she started to fall and he rushed in, grabbing her about the waist to hold her. "Ananke? Ananke? Are you okay?"
It seemed her first visit was too draining. Holding her, he scooped her up slowly and stared at her. "Hey."

Ananke's eyes blinked slowly as she realized she was being held. "Ah..." She tried to pull herself up a bit. "My head got really dizzy... and my legs feel like jelly..." Scrunching her nose she held her gloved hand to her head. "Is this some sort of atmosphere thing or something?"

"I don't know. Maybe we should go back to the room. You were doing better there." He turned and started to walk back to the crevice to the room they started in.
"If you feel weak, we should go and come back later. Maybe this place is too much to take in so quickly." He said, leaning to nuzzle his cheek against her head.

Ananke gave a quick nod and returned the nuzzle. "You're the space kitty so I trust your judgment." With that, she managed to pull herself back up into a standing position. With a deep breath, she headed back to the place where they came from hanging onto Arthur's hand. It wasn't long before they arrived back at the door that was barely open. Letting go of Arthur's hand Ananke quickly squished her way back through the crack of the door. Oddly though it seemed like more lights were on inside the building. It allowed them to see more consols and other bizarre equipment. For a moment she wondered... what kind of place it was in the past.

Arthur followed behind, ready to catch her in case she fell. Once through the together gap, he moved to slip his hand about her shoulder and under her arm for stability.
"Are you better? Of you are still weak us go home. You can rest at my place until you feel better unless you can make it home. I'll walk you there to make sure you don't faint again." He said, tone concerned and worried.

Ananke blinked and looked back at Arthur with a strained smile. "I'm sure its nothing... but I have this feeling... mmm like it might not be a good idea for us to wait going back." Sitting down on one of what she assumed was a seat, she pulled out her phone and motioned for Arthur to get close enough for when she pushed the button. "I'll have to see when we get back..." Letting out a soft breath she looked around the room one last time. "I don't want to burden you with taking care of me... but... let us just get back to Earth for now." She said smiling even though she looked pretty exhausted, Ananke was doing her best to try and keep Arthur from worrying about her.

He moved and placed a hand atop either shoulder and knelt down to kiss her crown. "You are never a burden. As a guardian, it is my job. As a friend, it is my pleasure." He said and waited for this world to warp away and Earth to return.

Ananke smiled as she pressed the button to send them back to Earth. It wasn't long before the world around them quickly shifted back to the park they started their adventure from. But honestly, the world around her was blurry. "Arthur... sorry but... I think I'm going to rest awhile..." Ananke said mumbling and in bright light, her transformation fell gone and that was when Evren fell forwards on top of the guardian cat.

There was a yelp and a puff of fur as Ananke fell. Luckily for everyone, Arthur could at least change into a humanoid and carry her. Downside was that he didn't know where her home was.
Sending a text to Nicodemus, Arthur picked the lady up and headed out.
