The priest shakes his head while holding his breath. He has dealt with man-children before.
Father John: "Then why are you here? Nobody forced you to come. You are free to leave at any time. But I think God guided you here because he knows how messed-up you are."
The priest begins to whisper, forcing Salem to move in closer.
Father John: "Listen here, you little disrespectful piece of s**t. I couldn't give a single ******** about you, who you've ********, who you're ******** UP, none of it. All I care about is avoiding Hell for the ******** UP s**t I've done. Do me a solid and drown yourself in the holy water."

Salem sucked on the vape pen as the priest spoke, exhaling with a smile while he leaned in and listened to the profanity-laden rant. It was as though Christmas had come early, by the look on Croft's face, who tilted his head curiously and breathed smoke like the devil himself as he replied to the old man.
"Heheh... y'know, I thought you shouldn't swear in church. How many Hail Marys is that worth? But anyway - maybe I did come here for a reason, Padré. Maybe I'm here to hear you out. You say I'm a piece of s**t, but weren't I made in God's image? Is he a piece of s**t, too? And for that matter, if I'm so bad, how about yourself? I don't claim to be a holy man, but if I did, I wouldn't be going through the motions. Practice what you preach, ever heard that one before?"
Salem jested, leaning in with his elbows on his knees, looking dead center at the priest through the privacy screen, not an ounce of humor on his face as he did so.
"You're doing what you do, dressing up in your monkey suit and talking down to people, but inside you're just a scared old man. Scared of the thoughts you have, the urges, the cravings. Admit it, Father...you hate me because you wish you WERE me. You hate me...because you know you ARE me. See, a little bit of me is inside everyone, not just Miranda. I'm in you, too. That primal, basic, animal instinct you pretend you've lost. But where I embrace it, you live a lie. That's why I answer to myself, and you're just a Bible-beating b***h."

Father John: "You know what? You're right. I'm just a b***h. I will fix this. I will now embrace my natural instinct. Just like you would."
The priest leaves the confessional.
The priest finds the holy water.
The priest places his head into the holy water.
The priest keeps his head in the holy water until his body goes limp.
JR: "What the Hell is this?! That man needs help!"
King: "Who?! Salem?! We know!"

Salem peeked out the door of the confessional, watching with child-like curiosity as the priest went to the holy water and started drowning himself, Croft's eyes widening in surprise, jaw dropping a little. The Father seemed to struggle for a couple moments before his twitching ceased, at which point other members of the clergy began rushing to his aid, trying to pull the priest from the water and perform CPR.
Salem, meanwhile, casually stepped out of the confession booth, a bit of smoke streaming after him as the man started off down the aisle, back towards the doors he'd come in. Passing by the offering plate once again, Salem pulled out the change he'd taken, figuring it was worth the show. Glancing back at the scene he'd left, smiling and chuckling.
"He really does work in mysterious ways.~" Salem mused as he swung open the doors and stepped out onto the street once again.
