This time Dessy didn't pull away. His arms found their way around June and he held onto his older brother as if he'd vanish at any moment. The sobs came faster and faster, but he did his best to stifle them for fear of someone passing by and hearing him. It wasn't as if they were doing anything wrong, of course, but he had caused enough of a scene for his brother, and anything more would just end with June hating him, he just knew it.
Bits and pieces of what the older brother said made it through the sounds of his own sobbing, enough that Dessy smiled ever so slightly at the old memories he had of them all together a kids. It wasn't always a happy time, but...
Atleast back then, he could say he was truly happy with them by his side, as brief as that time was.
"Okay..." Dessy didn't have a clue how June could help him... The Negaverse was supposed to be a big secret his general told him over and over, and if he were to suddenly vanish from living there, he'd risk not being able to ever go back, or his General pulling him away in the middle of doing something. As much as he wouldbe happy to never ever leave June's side again, even he knew it wasn't a smart idea. A small bit of warmth spread through him from the affection his brother showed, and the little kindness allowed him enough courage to look back up at the taller man, forcing a bigger smile than before. How much of it was real, he just couldn't tell anymore.
"Just for tonight... I'll stay tonight... I wanna be happy again, and I am happy to see you, so I wanna stay and smile for you like when we were kids... That's okay, right?"

Jacob held December close, murmuring soft words of comfort into his hair, heedless of the smell of garbage that still radiated from the boy. They would both need showers and these clothes would have to be washed right away but…damn. Dessy was hurting and he felt as though it was in a large part his fault.
Or…it would be if he would have done nothing or ignored the boy. But…here he was. Taking up for December.
He might not have been there for him these past few years…but he would be damned if that was going to continue.
“Tonight is a good start, Dessy. Tonight can bring a warm bath and some fresh clean clothes. Tonight will mean a hot meal and a long time curled up against me. We can watch television if you’d like…and I can tell you what I’ve been up to. And you can fill me in on what I’ve missed with you, together we can figure out how to fix what’s been fractured in our relationship…and you and I can work on being a family again. For real. I won’t leave you again, December. You have my word.”
When the boy gave the smile, Jacob returned it, his lilac eyes crinkling slightly. “Come on, little brother. Let’s go home, if only for tonight.”
He let go of December and once again took his hand, tugging him towards the warmth of his own apartment.
And he knew that tonight could easily turn into a whole week of ‘tonights’. His brother had a home if he wanted it, Jacob would see to that.
December would be okay. He had to be. It was now Jacob’s responsibility to see that he was.

"Tonight..." Dessy nodded again and again, trying to enforce the thought that tonight would be their new beginning.
They'd have to start slow though, that he knew... As much as he had admitted out loud already, he knew there was even more he knew he couldn't say out loud just yet. So much of his life was a secret, which felt so incredibly strange given how open December tried to be.
But that hand in his.. Those smiles, that warmth he wanted so badly... It was all being offered to him, and he really, truly, couldn't pull himself away from it.
"Thank you June... Really, really, thank you... I'm sorry if I keep crying, I'll get better, Promise... I really... Really really really missed you..." More words wanted to be tacked at the end. 'I'll leave as soon as you get sick of me' or 'you don't have to help' but he hushed them up with a squeezing of Jacob's hand. Tonight, he'd start to let himself be loved again.. And like Jacob said, it was a good start.
