There was so much going on all at once that Sophie felt the natural urge to shirk back from it all as she watched the crowd interact with one another. Boys being boys and bro-clapping, new faces greeting old faces and even a cat - bless Itsuki's sweet furry heart - scurrying around all over the place as if it were an every day occurrence.
Part of her wished it was an every day thing - perhaps she wouldn't have felt like such an outsider for so long, if she'd only met this crew before she had. The fact they continued to include her, despite her inability to start conversations (much less add to them, most of the time) was a humbling gesture... like a family outside of the one she already had.
Sitting down at the table, she was quiet as she picked at her food, amethyst eyes still glancing around to watch the interactions unfold around her. The cheesy potatoes were carefully scooped up onto her fork and nibbled at, much unlike the shoveling going on in Khaleel's direction.
"The food is very good, Miss Fiona," she offered, trying not to sound as meek as she knew her voice tended to be. "Thank you for the invitation."

Motherly admonishment aside, Zach scooped up the cat to give poor Jack some breathing space (and get himself some delicious food). Fixing a plate of this-and-that (and whatever the cat pointed to as well), Zach and the furball found their places at the table. Even Itsuki had his own plate and several throw pillows to sit on for optimal table manners.
From subspace, Itsuki pulled a pair of chopsticks made specifically for Mauvian toe-beans. "Itadakimasu~!" he squeaked, raising a paw to Fiona and the others who provided the delicious food to eat. "Domo arigato gozaimasu, minna-san~!"
Zach chuckled. "That means, thank you very much, everyone, in case you didn't know." ...and back to the potatoes. Wow, Khaleel sure was hungry. Didn't the blonde have, like, at least five tablespoons a few blinks ago?
The Court's cat beamed at his charge, awe-inspired. "Zee-chan! You were paying attention!"
"HEY."

Pat grinned and nodded at Fi when she pretty much said he was literally the odd man out at this little get together. That wasn't all that surprising really, he actually felt a little special since she added him to this little group even though he was a knight not a senshi. He stood back as the small gathering descended on the food and chatted among themselves, they all apparently knew each other if only a little. Food was eaten and talk circulated, even the cat nommed down. The kitty chopsticks did draw another raised brow from Pat as he chowed down himself.
He kept himself quiet, just watching and observing as the others chatted. It was interesting to say the least. He learned that Jack awoke because of a snake youma and a well timed cat, and she apparently ran into Khaleel at some point before which is where she got Fi's number. And apparently Zack was picking up some Japanese from the guardian which made him wonder if the cat 'grew up' knowing the language or if it was something he picked up during his guardian duties. What was the native language for the space cats anyway?
The tall redhead leaned against the counter and just contemplated it all. It was definitely strange being in such a boisterous group. The closest he had come to being part of a group was working with his family so this probably wouldn't be smooth sailing right away but he was more then willing to give it a shot. It would be nice to work with a group.

There was a soft sigh from Fiona when the line of questioning began despite her gentle chastising. "I know Khaleel, but--" Her protest were spoken over and all she could do was smile apologetically at the women.
Her attention was pulled over to soft-spoken Sophia and she reached over to squeeze her hand. "I'm grateful you could come," she replied, before pulling her hand away.
"Actually," she said, louder this time to gather the other's attention. "I wanted to make this more of a regular thing. I think it's important for us to get together, as a team, and check in with each other." They hadn't done it enough, with her small band of friends before and Fiona was determined to do better than she had in the past.
All of the gathered were so young, so new to the war in comparison to her, even if some of them 'outranked' her with those eternal wings that always just seemed out of reach.
"I consider all of you," she glanced back at Pat and Tristan, who was sneaking out of the kitchen, "to be my family."
"THAT IS GOOD!" Khaleel said as he stuff cheesy potatoes in his mouth so that he could eat and then talk after. "Fiona is good people! As saw, she had saved my bum." He grinned.
"We are family. Fiona is mom." He leaned over to Jack and smirked, "That makes the tall redhead man our dad." He giggled as much as a man could before snorting.
"Zee-Chan, when did you learn so much." He shoved more food in his mouth and pointed a spoon at Sophie and Pat, "You both..." More potatoes, "Good....." Wait he ate to much.
"Wait, sorry." He turned to the side to swallow the food down without choking on it, which lapsed in a temporary silence from the man.
for now.....
"Are we going to be a senshi family?" Okay back to the words.

Oh boy, there was a lot going on, and Jack found her attention being pulled everything way before Fiona's gentle voice cut across the clamor and called their attention. With a small sigh of relief Jack turned to look at the redhead, a smile smile on her face and a few gooey chunks of potatoes on her fork.
It was nice, this. Even if she still felt a little like an outsider everyone was very friendly and inviting, and it did feel like maybe this could be like a second family. A support system that as a senshi she knew she would need.
As Khaleel spoke to her again Jack chuckled. "She's a good mom." Pat she didn't know well just yet but he seemed just as sweet as their leader, and she got the sense he'd be there in a pinch of she needed him.
There was another girl, quieter even than herself, and Jack sent a sweet smile across the table at her before bright eyes flicked up to a man that'd up to that point gone unnoticed.

Poor Pat and Jack, being in the middle of this jovial fray. Zach shot the other man an apologetic look, but Itsuki seemed not to notice. The cat and Khaleel might have been engaged in some sort of eating contest.
The idea of them getting together on some kind of regular schedule brought a smile to Zach's face, such that he couldn't eat for a few moments. This? This was family. There was a warmth here that Zach hadn't the words for and the fact that he outright adored Fiona was as plain as day. "I sure as heck don't mind gettin' together," he offered, wiping his mouth with a napkin like the good boy he liked to think he was sometimes. "'Specially if we can help somebody else out. It's rough tryin'a do all this on your own."
"Hai!" chirped the cat, tail swishing behind him. "Kazoku. Family!"
Zach nodded to Khaleel, agreeing wholeheartedly with this statement about Fiona. "Fiona's the best mom. Pat, I dunno if I feel comfortable callin' you dad, so... is Big Bro okay?"

Pat just watched the group quietly, a light smile occasionally drifting across his face, even as he shifted further back. He wasn't someone who enjoyed the spotlight, hell he actively avoided it. And while this whole pot luck wasn't exactly the Oscars it was still a bit more then he knew how to really handle so he stuck to his tried and true methods of fading into the background and just watching.
Apparently his disappearing act wasn't as good as normal since he caught the look Fi sent him, making him shrug slightly in apology. In order to make her happier he shifted further into the room. It wasn't like he didn't want to be part of the group, the family, he just... didn't know how to show it, or handle it.
Khaleel's comment about him being the dad of this little collection of senshi had him barking out a short laugh. "I guess that means I can now officially crack dad jokes," He smirked and immediately followed up with a rather appropriate joke considering his audience. "Did you hear about the restaurant on the moon?" Pat only paused for a moment before giving the punchline, "Great food, no atmosphere." He grinned and shook his head before nodding at Zach.
"Big Bro works. I'll even answer to Oniichan," He tossed that second one out mostly for the cat who was still stuffing it's face with food. Where exactly was the little fur ball storing all that anyway? "What ever works for you guys."
((Anyone interested in a basic first aid 'class' taught by Pat?))

Tristan offered Fiona a sheepish smile, almost like he was ashamed that he'd been caught trying to slip away. To everyone else he lifted his hand in a slight wave but didn't exactly go out of his way to introduce himself. When he felt like eyes were no longer on him, he slipped out anyway because he felt like this was an intimate thing that he didn't want to intrude on.
Instead, he retreated to his room down the hall.
Being called mom was something that didn't even make Fiona blink. Zach regularly talked to her and treated her like she was his mother, in an endearing way, and she had stepped into the mantel well enough. After everything that happened with Cordelia and the others, Fiona had been hesitant to start over, to rebuild a family, and even more hesitant to step into the role of a court leader, but the threads were always pushing her towards that role and she had stopped resisting.
Instead, she embraced it.
She was Wendy and these were her lost boys.
"I was thinking once a week, preferably on a Sunday," because those were her one consistent day off, "but I'm flexible." She paused, thinking about how she had cleared out the spare rooms of personal effects not too long ago. "There's a room for each of you, if you want it, here. You're welcome to bring some things over to make them a little more yours too."
