Infinities
you've been very distracting
Christa tapped her chin, brows furrowing as she poured over the introductory text on the tiny screen. "Yes, I guess they have marriage ceremonies for cartoon women. It must be enough of a phenomenon to even have the ceremony in the first place, which raises more questions than answers if you ask me... But then again, I've heard tell of love affairs with animals down in the South. But that could simply be harmful stereotypes."
Then, one of the most hideous caricatures of a human being graced the screen. Was this magistrate a racist cartoon? Or was he simply supposed to be repulsively ugly? The face Christa made in response was as if she'd eaten rotten food and was trying to decide if it was polite or not to spit it back out on the plate she was given. "...eww. Where is Basically-Zach? Aren't women thought of as weak and in need of protection in feudal Japan? Well, I should correct myself - oftentimes women still suffer the same attitude even in modern times - but you know what I mean. This... Ya-hiko boy even looks like Zach did as a child."
Lifting her phone to show Jada - despite knowing Jada very likely knew exactly who the boy was - there was a nostalgic twinkle in her eye. "I have no idea what he's wearing, but this boy looks just like Zach did at maybe... eight? Nine years old?" Tilting her head, she kept clicking through the dialogue. Was forced marriage something that happened often? And why couldn't she see who the person supposedly representing herself looked like? Did this character look more like Jada, perhaps? That would explain why all the lovely men showing up in the tutorial seemed to have some kind of vested interest in what amounted to being a complete and utter stranger, not to mention a commoner--
Weren't samurai a privileged class? Christa admittedly didn't know much about Asian history...
"...well, optometry as a modern practice hadn't been invented yet, so maybe all of them suffer from terrible astigmatism."
