“Some… yes.” He replied after a thoughtful pause. “Some do indeed choose to forget.” He said neatly sliding by the other question “I don’t personally understand why, I don’t think I could bear to, not…willingly.” He shook his head. The circumstances of him, ever wanting to abandon this were, beyond even his reckoning.

"I couldn't do that....forget willingly. I have too much of a family to want to forget them." Even if she wouldn't remember forgetting them. She cared too much for them. "I might have my own issues...but for someone to leave - to lose everything. I can't imagine what they must be dealing with." Maybe it was more to escape their civilian life than their powered one?
"You'll help me though? With the duties you mentioned? I'd rather that - to help people...than the other option." She had magic, it held promise, but she hadn't yet really used it more than a few times.
"And...I can work under you then? If that's ok? Others have teams..."

He made a small sound in his throat, clearly hesitating. In a way, she’d report to him regardless. “I may ask you to work with others whom are also under my command.” He said with a stern frown. “At least for assignments but…yes. It’s a simple method, it’s just being more particular about your targets..” His eyes took on a darker light when he said that. “I’m sure you’re familiar with some of the less…reputable areas of town?”

"Of course, I can work with others." She'd tried that before, twice at least, and she wasn't so fond of how those times had gone. But she would try again, and again, if he wanted her to. He cared enough to speak with her and not jump to any sort of action against her, she had been scared to voice her feelings before and was scared to have those thoughts even. She had been upset though by things and he had listened.
"Of course. I know where those areas are." She might not have been born in this city, or this country, but she knew the areas he was talking about. "I'll go for the people there then." The ones who others weren't taking care of. "You want...their starseeds?" That was a bit much but some of them, many in fact, she was sure were a danger and the only way to stop them was to pull starseeds. As much as she didn't like it...it was the right thing to do. The idea of a dead body though...
"I can do it." Even if it would be, no doubt, hard to do at first. It was right...and it gave her a purpose. It was one she could live with.

“No, you may turn them in to whomever requested them.” He assured her. “… When I find we need star seeds, I try and find the worst of humanity. White Moon may claim to be protectors, but how many of the true dregs of society have the removed from the streets I wonder?” He raised a hand and waved to emphasize his point. “It sounds as though you have the right idea already, I personally favor finding an abuser, someone who brings down those weaker them themselves, rather than protecting them. Abusing the power they have over them to get what they want… You’re doing a kindness to many.”

"I don't think they have....I think they won't do it - kill someone. No matter what." And did that make them or the white moon bad for that? For removing such bad people? Killing was still killing but sometimes, to help others, it was needed. She had heard stories from back home in India where people, family members, sometimes sought justice for a female in their family because the legal system wouldn't. Some people wouldn't see justice here either...unless they handled it.
"I think you're right. I can do that. It will help people and give me a purpose I can live with. I can't do some of the things I've seen - not again. This though...serves the good. Maybe I was brought into this for a reason? Even if it was done against my consent back home before I came here." Maybe things had just fallen into place, her being brought into the Negaverse right before moving here. Something like fate.
"I can't fight...all I can do is use my magic. Any suggestion what I should do to help there? Anything you think is best I learn?" A style of fighting, self defense, something in particular.

“Oh…they will. They are more than capable of killing.” He said softly. “They have a history of it in fact, that many like to pretend never happened. As though it were some outlier and they are nothing dangerous at all.” “As for fighting, I’ll see to it that you’re trained. I have another I’m working on training, and I know some excellent officers whom run lessons. Their are many you can turn to and trust to help you. I’ll send a file to your tablet to make sure you have some names that can be trusted.”

"They have...a history of killing." This was news to her, and something she was interested in. She had a lot to learn and this was something she wanted, and needed, to learn about. Not because they were the enemy but because she needed to know just how bad the other side was, it was something she needed to know in order to know her side was the better side - for sure.
"Thank you...I'd like that. I don't think if I do as you ask I can remain untrained. it's too dangerous. My magic will only get me so far." Though it would get her an out, if she needed it, it wouldn't end a fight and give her a victory over someone else. Her magic just wasn't that sort of thing, although she wished it was.

You can do great things, greater perhaps than them…because we, at least are organized.” He gave a small inclination of his head “Come… I shall show you an excellent place to start learning, perhaps we will find you a good partner as well.” [fin?]
