Higher or Lower?: Higher RP Response:Part of the problem of going separately to the same party as your spouse was the fact that it would be harder to find them if you didn't arrive at the same time. Albert had to drive straight from work to here to make it in time and hadn't been able to find his wife yet. He had been pushed from the entryway into the parlor room as soon as he had gotten there and was unable to assess the first part of the mansion at all, but the parlor room was quite extravagant, and Albert could see that the host had good taste. And a lot of money.
He had been looking around the room, wishing that he had some sort of wine glass to carry, when finally his wife came up into view and he calmly walked over to her. "Addie, dear." He said, offering his arm out so that she could hold onto it if she wanted. Though if she rejected it he would understand, but the choice was there at least.

Jocelyn was helping herself with all the free food available while waiting for the host to show up. Wearing a costume of a brown bear, she went right into character, and stuffed all the different samples into her mouth. First it were the cute little jiggly jello cubes, and then she went for the spooky rice krispy squares oozing with gooey marshmellows.
She paused halfway down the table to have a drink of water to cleanse her palate. "Ahhh, what a great table full of free food!" she shouted out loud, not really caring if anyone even heard her.
Eyeing the rest of the table, she reached out for the little candycorn in a fancy jar. Her tail wagged happily inside her costume.
Still stuffing her face, she was about to reach for a doughnut, but the doubledoors had swung wide open by then.
"Finally," she mumbled between chewing her food. But even if they were open, she couldn't really see what was inside. It was too dark. She stood there for a moment, leaning against the table, as she watched the other guests wander into the unknown...and grabbed two bearpaw full of cheesy puffs and slowly started to follow the chattery crowd as she ate the orange puffs one at a time.

Sylvaine strode through the door, glancing about the parlor room in utter delight. She had been working herself so hard. Really, plays and touring don't just organize themselves. The invitation had been a delight, and she had made sure to dress to the nines for it. Not that she even really dressed any other way, but everything was all about the presentation. She adjusted the shawl around her shoulders as she weaved her way through the crowd, heading over to the food and drink station to grab herself a flute of champagne. She eyed the people near the food... one of them in a bear suit... apparently... (did they think it was a costume party? How... em-bear-essing.) and another in a beautiful pink gown. She smiled towards the bakeneko clad in pink. "My dear, that is quite a lovely dress, I hope you don't mind me saying."

RP Response:Rook didn't like the idea of attending a fancy party without Royah, but the kumiho had given him her blessing, curling up on the couch with a bowl of popcorn and a movie before he'd even left their apartment. He had always been a firm believer in taking advantage of opportunities as they arose, and no one could say that entering the mansion wasn't the opportunity of a lifetime. It was unlikely he'd ever get the chance to return, so he relented, dressing up in his only stylish suit and making his way to Silver Hill.
He kept to himself once he'd arrived, concerned that his bulky arms and hands might make him stand out in an undignified way when he was trying so hard to make a good impression. Finally, when the parlour doors opened, Rook moseyed over to the fountain first, running his fingers across the expensive marble. Something about this whole situation felt creepy, but curiosity compelled him to stay just a little while longer.

Higher or Lower?: Lower RP Response: Autymn wandered inside with her sister, taking a look at everything and popping finger foods into her mouth. "So," she murmured to her twin between bites, "what do you think we're here for?"
When the bell rang and their host spoke, Autymn's ears twitched. She searched for the source but found nothing. Yet. The architecture was amazing in this house. It made her creative fingers start to itch to build something. Anything.

Wynter rolled her eyes at her sis, figures her happy go lucky side would be in full force tonight. "Eating again? Didn't we have dinner before we got here?" sighing she began to look around at the other "guests" that were already here.
Her eyes flittered from guest to guest a few beautiful ladies well...well...well maybe this won't be a huge waste of time after all. She smiled.

Higher or Lower?: Lower than host's roll RP Response: Madla entered into the parlor, eyeing the architecture. Not, bad, but definitely an older style of richness. Madla preferred more modern decorations herself. The Geist strolled the room, snatching a canapé when she could and wishing they were larger. She also very carefully took one of the champagne glasses off the tower, making sure not to knock it over. She couldn't wait for the party to actually start at this haunted mansion; she was sure it was going to be a blast.

Adalina was relieved to see her husband. Her eyes lit up, and a smile spread across her face. She was a stuck up storborn ole gal, but she had such a wormth and fondness in her heart for her Albert. "My dear Al! I was worried you wouldn't make it" she placed her arm in his and stood up on her tip toes to place a soft peck on his cheek. "This place is wonderful is it not? I do wonder who our host is thiugh, I'm not sure I remember them." She looked over at him for confirmation that they had indeed not met.
Albert couldn't help but smile at his wife when she took his arm and kissed him on the cheek. If there was one thing in this world that mattered more to him than anything else it was her. Perhaps they were a less traditional couple, but they got along extremely well. "I somehow made it though. But of course there had to be a meeting at the last minute. Why they still insist upon doing that when they could just email their concerns is something I still can't understand." Old as he was, he did try to stay up on the latest technology, even if emails weren't very new.
But getting everyone in a meeting room only to ask if something could be approved? A waste of time on everyone's part.
"I agree, this place is very extravagant. If we could find whoever designed it, perhaps we could ask them to spruce up one of our rooms a bit. Though, we have had the best of the best in most of the main rooms. Perhaps a guest room would be the best." He shook his head at her though when she mentioned their host. "I was ushered into the room as soon as I got here, so I haven't seen our host either, whomever they may be. A bit rude don't you think?"

Anaiise gasped when it looked like she had caused the poor grimm to choke, feeling a wave of relief when he started to speak. "Oh....I know what you mean...Fenris, right?" She said as she finally placed his name to his face, smiling warmly with a small giggle as she could tell he restrained his speech a bit. "I'll admit that I'm not used to being around so many people of the more....established classes. I'm glad to see a face that's closer to home. Also...you can just call me Anaiise. I'm a guest here just like everyone else, after all." The neko turned to the beautifully dressed hybrid as she came and complimented her on her dress, a tinge of pink coloring her cheeks as she smiled. "Oh well, thank you very much! I'll admit that I was inspired by home and our local dressmaker did such a wonderful job with the concept. You're dressed much to the Nine's yourself, if I may say so; it's a beautiful ensemble."
"Yes ma'am! Though, um, if you'd like, as well, then just Fen will work. whatever you'd like." He made a slight bowing motion, but his mane of curly hair, as wild and free as ever, fell into his face and prevented a full bow. "After we're done here, would you mind if--"
Their conversations was interrupted by yet another oh-so-beautiful person walking up. He wasn't sure if he just didn't look nice enough to warrant a compliment, or if- Nope, yup, Anaiise was definitely worthy of a compliment. And so was this new person.
"Man...you both look like you stepped down from some higher plane. I'm almost jealous I could never pull of looks like yours."

Some guests have already begun exploring, some never left the parlour... but no guest could be prepared for the fog that begins to rise from the marble fountain, pouring over the edge and onto the floor. It seems impossible that so much could be produced from the single source, but eventually the fog fills the air. You can barely make out the person next to you, making it even more disturbing when shrill cries start to fill the hall. You feel movements, hear noises, see flashes of light and just as it becomes all too overwhelming- it stops. Silence.
"I hope you do enjoy your stay."
The voice echoes out once more, seeming to drift through the fog and into your soul. After a few moments of defeaning silence, the fog begins to dissipate, and all seems the same as it was. There are no corpses lying about, no bloody scene like one might expect. It is noticeable, however, that the numbers in the hall have thinned. Over half the guests seem to have simply... disappeared. What you do now is your choice, but the well is bubbling once more; whether to explore to solve the mystery or to find safety, perhaps it is time to leave this haunted room.
The fountain truly was deathly gorgeous, after all...

Death Becomes Her
The following have been brutally murdered! Enjoy reading the description of how your character has been taken out of the game of this wicked host. Not to fear, all of the 'deceased' guests have simply been escorted back to the reception room after their brief moment of personalised horror - anything they may have seen or felt was nothing more than an illusion. The room has been restocked with even more delectable canapes and even larger, main course meals should you desire it. Small tables that can seat two to three people have been strewn about the room, and you are encouraged to keep mingling!
( Should you cease to roleplay post-death that is fine, however you're welcome to keep showing off your beautiful outfits and commitment )
Nashawryn
Freya
The hybrid's independence may have been her downfall. The seat she had chosen to sit on - while undeniably comfortable - suddenly morphs into a mass of teeth. With no one around to hear her, what feels like flesh begins to envelope her legs, the teeth slowly closing around her. Just as the darkness surrounds her and she appears to be devoured, a hand reaches out to pull her to the safety of the reception room. Fortunately, her delicate chiffon remains in tact throughout the ordeal, and Freya still looks fabulous as ever.
Blinded By Silence
December
Where she was once surrounded by people, the fog begins to set in around December, isolating her from the rest of the guests. But it is more severe for the grimm - the fog turns dark, as black as the dress she's wearing. The isolating, heavy fog sits around her, and even if she attempted to scream or shout, no one would hear her words. The darkness seems to fill her lungs, snuffing out any light she may have within herself. It seems like an eternity before someone finally steps into the darkness, his eyes glinting as they look over her costume. "I'm afraid you've been murdered. My apologies." The figure disappears and the fog clears, revealing the familiar surroundings of the entrance room.
Lady Angel Heart
Veronica
All the money in the world couldn't save the precious hybrid from the fog that set in around her. It couldn't be bought off, intimidated or coerced. The air around her begins to turn grey and brown, and a thick, muddy humidity envelopes Veronica. Her dress suddenly appears filthy, and even her beautiful, pristine white fur begins to brown under the fog. The wardrobe disaster is so distracting that someone is able to pull her away from her personal hell and, of course, once she is in the reception room it is revealed that the mud was no more than an illusion; Veronica is still a pristine princess.
Rua the Raven
Halimede
What appears as fog to others has a far more distinct shape in the eyes of Halimede. The hybrid quickly finds themselves surrounded by spirits; ghostly apparitions that wail in every known language. The words become mixed and distorted as the ghastly figures close around Halimede, but small snippets of phrases can be heard in discernible languages - "Join us." "You belong with us." "You'll never truly be alive." Just as the torments grow too loud to handle, a small figure appears amongst the spirits. Clearly a guiding beacon of sorts, Halimede is led back to the reception room, although the figure disappears before they can see it clearly.
SSBrosB
Albert
The last thing Albert sees before the fog descends is his wife on his arm, but a force pulls them apart, and the naiad suddenly finds himself alone. He hears a scream nearby - could that be her? - but before it would be possible to make a move towards her, the air grows thick around him. At first it seems to glitter, almost seeming beautiful in an eerie way, but Albert can feel the fog growing thicker and thicker as it encases him. Too late he realises the fog is turning to liquid gold, solidifying around him. From the outside, a beautiful golden statue of an elegant naiad stands in the hall, but from within Albert can only see darkness. Just as all seems lost, a light breaks through his cocoon, and as the illusion disappears the naiad finds himself back in the reception area.
Obnoxious Obscurity
Sylvaine
Used to the constant sounds of the stage, an unfamiliar silence surrounds Sylvaine. The fog separates her from the others, refusing her the audience she so deserves. From the fog emerges three theatrical masks - one with a smile, one with a frown, and one in a state of pure horror. The three masks dance and float around her, slowly spinning faster and faster, seemingly emanating the sounds of a cheering crowd. Slowly, the cheers turn to booing, and she is soon surrounded by a whirlwind of disapproving voices. Suddenly, the mask of horror shoots towards her, latching onto her face. It is impossible to pry off, and begins to slowly smother the performer. As things begin to seem most dire, the face turns into one of laughter and smoothly falls off Sylvain's face and onto the floor. With her vision restored, she can see she somehow danced herself into reception area.
- Mynsed -
Etienne
The last thing the naiad sees before the fog sets in is a wave of water crashing over Blitz. Separated from his partner and the rest of the room, Etienne begins to feel some water lap at his feet. It seems no more than an inch or two at first, but all too quickly the water begins to rise. No movement could be attempted; electrical cords had sprung out of the ground to anchor Etienne to the spot. The water continues to rise - although strangely no objects or people have yet floated into view - and soon the naiad must take his last breath of air. Of course drowning posed no threat to the naiad, and yet when the water filled his lungs, it seemed different to normal. Choking. It feels as if the air and the life is being sucked out of the naiad, offering no reprieve... until he feels a tug at his feet, the cords slithering back into the ground. The water drains almost instantly, and the naiad can breathe once more.
Kaefaux
Orion
The fog feels more like sand to Orion, swirling around him to create a violent storm. The sand seems to clump together, forming what appears to be pages, and the chaos suddenly turns into a whirlwind of parchment and books. They begin to fly at him, barely missing the hallowed as the chaotic energy hastens around him. Orion is surrounded by the booming of thousands of voices whispering at once. He can't quite make out the words, but they seem cruel. About him. The whirlwind slowly dies down, the pieces of paper falling limp to the ground around him and turning to smoke as they hit the floor, but the sounds of the whispers still echo in his head.
Green Minuet
Legion
A dagger seems to fly through the fog, barely scraping past the hybrid and continuing on behind him. A few more moments of silence pass, before three more knives are thrown through the fog in quick succession. None seem to be directly aimed at Legion-By-Thousand, all of them on a trajectory that miss him by no more than a few millimetres. It seems that is all the fog had to offer the hybrid, until a shuffling could be heard. Four figures loomed into view - child-sized, with knives sticking out of their chests and heads. They thump to the ground around him and lie still, blood pooling under them. Suddenly, the bodies twitch, and the children begin to claw at Legion's legs, climbing up his body and trying to drag him down. "We died because of you." The voices echo through the fog. The children disappear and the fog clears, revealing the entrance room.
Aria Starstone
Alon
The fog seems to solidify around Alon, becoming thick and almost shapely. Tendrils reach for him, ripping off his fancy suit and leaving him in little more than his underclothes. The air seems cold around him, and the tendrils begin to form into one singular figure. It looks like... could it be... a shadowy version of himself stands before him, looking far more nervous about his clothing situation than the real Alon would. The nervousness turns to anger, and the shadowy twin reaches out to grab the hybrid by the neck, throttling him. After a few painful moments, the shadow begins to lose its form, disappearing into the fog once more. The air turns warm again and it would appear he was in his suit the entire time, now surrounded by other guests.
Random Nobody 13
Sundara
The smell of perfume fills the air around the hybrid, the fog seeming to have an attractive glimmer to it. All seems well, until a heavy feeling appears on Sundara's face. The mask that donned her face suddenly feels attached to his flesh, replacing his true face. No amount of clawing or prying seems to be able to lift the mask, and the perfumed smell has begun to turn rotten. The heavy feeling of the mask begins to flow down his shoulders and over his body, fusing the hybrid's costume with their very being. It seems to smother them, trying to squeeze out his soul, but just as all seems most lost, the mask falls to the ground - but it wasn't the mask Sundara had been wearing, it was a twisted, sinister version of his face. It disappears almost as quickly as she sees it, and looking up the hybrid can now see they are in the reception room.
Milady Emerald
Kiera
Kiera can feel an uncharacteristic anger wash over her, as if it was a part of the fog. Looking down, the kirin can see stark, white veins appearing on her arms and legs - the marks of the infected. The fog around her condenses into mirror surfaces, revealing at all angles the white veins that cover her and the pinpoint, red dots her pupils had become. The outside influence of fury almost seems choking, consuming her mind - but just as Kiera seems to lose herself, the mirrors shatter. A figure steps through and quickly, almost in defence, holds up a hand mirror at the kirin's face. The markings were gone, and her eyes had returned to normal. A wave of relief replaces the anger, but the man was gone, replaced by the other guests that had been escorted into the reception area.
