When he hit her on the head with the pretzel, she blinked rapidly, then laughed again, shaking her head and rolling her eyes at his childishness. “I don’t know. You know what they say about the short people…”
She took the offered food and grabbed several packets of mustard, liberally adding some to the snack before taking a bite. “Nobody can fix everything though. I know I’m just placing all of the blame on you because you’re here…but honestly? You were the only person I knew besides Jarosite. And I think that’s an issue. Nobody bothered to see if I was okay, and Jarosite was so busy mourning the fact that I wasn’t his girlfriend, because I guess…we had been dating in real life too? But. He was so busy doing that…I don’t know. It was just a lot. And I got fed up with it.”
Albireo grew quiet, taking a bite that was far too big for her, giving ample time to chew and think on her next words.
“Of course it’s not the best solution. But I thought it would be better, I’ll admit. He forgot being Jarosite. So again…he’s still mourning the real life girlfriend he had…and I again have no idea who that was so. I’m in the same shitty position that I was in before. Only…”
She glanced down and sighed. There was a large glob of mustard on her bodice. “…My clothes show stains easier. But, yeah. It hurt a little to come back. Like fire burning all of the bad out of me. I mean, I figure it’s like an exorcism or something, and the movies never show them as being picnics.”
The senshi took another bite, adding less mustard this time. “But…no, you never expressed any frustration of our faction being the less painful to join. Care to share?”

“All the ‘Bad’ He rolled his eyes and shook his head. “If that worked, we wouldn’t have had an organized group of you, capture, and torture masses of our officers, unless torture is… subjective, it’s only evil if you don’t do it to someone you feel is bad.” “I know I didn’t make any friends when we saved our officers.” He murmured, clenching one fist, and then shaking it out. “Tell your… Jarosite, or whatever he calls himself now, that no one is whom you thought they were, if he must find love, he should look for it where he can find it. Maybe then both of you can be all… happy.” He waved the pretzel. “For as long as he’s there by your side.” He tore off a piece of pretzel and ate it. “No, I hardly see me swapping sides, even if I were interested.” He curled his lip and shook his head. “But no, it.. Bothers me, because you gain all that power, and there isn’t a cost to it I’ve wondered for a long time what kind of impact that has on your… ‘side’. Power that comes too easily… without cost, or sacrifice… it bothers me. That probably says something terrible about me, I’m not sure I care.”

Albireo watched him, a thoughtful expression on her face, then with a sigh she moved a little closer, flinging an arm around his shoulders. “You complained about that the last time we spoke. It…Zink. It was a very long time ago. If this has been bothering you for over seven years…have you, and please don’t take this the wrong way, but have you thought about seeing someone about it? I…I’ve started therapy. It’s not as awful as it seems like it is…and it might help you to be less angry.”
She shrugged. “I’ll tell him though. We honestly don’t go out much, obviously, and I wouldn’t dream of you swapping sides. You belong where you are. You’re happy there…but just know, and I say this with no hope of it ever coming to fruition, but if you ever were really serious about maybe leaving, I can help. I can help and we can be friends. Or whatever. I’m just saying, you wouldn’t be alone. Because, Zink I never said a damn thing about you swapping sides.”
So obviously it was a thought he had on his own. Which was strange.
“…You’d look funny as a knight.”

He didn’t move away so much as -lean- away the way a cat might if you wanted to pet them, and they didn’t particularly want anything to do with it. “No one said you were the one who brought that up as something for me to think about” He said looking unhappy. “Someone was trying to convince me, that -all- Negaverse Officers, are ‘secretly’ knights.” he said looking vexed. “Which is… a bit ridiculous, I think you’ll agree. I am not, nor have I ever been such a thing, Pretty theory though it is, I rather suspect Knights are just what happens when you ‘purify’ someone rather than let them be recruited properly. Still, it’s been a pervasive thought.” “And good lord, really? Therapy?” He snorts. “That’s your best rebuttal? At least sometimes I get a comic book discourse involving quotes from ‘The Amazing Spider Man.’ “See if I buy you a pretzel again.”

Quietly, Albireo’s smile began to freeze itself into place, and it was almost as though a switch had gone off causing the light in her eyes to vanish. “Well, perhaps it isn’t the truth, but. Don’t worry about it, Zink. You won’t have to test the theory.”
She drew away from him and glanced at the pretzel still in her hand before sighing. “I should get home, it’s getting late and I wouldn’t want to worry anyone. Also, the therapy wasn’t any sort of a rebuttal, it was me just.”
The senshi shrugged, taking a few steps away. “Just trying to make sure that you’re okay. That’s all. And I’m afraid I don’t know anything from any sort of Spider Man, but I appreciated the movies with Andrew Garfield. There were some pretty sweet one liners that made me laugh.”
She shrugged. “Have a good night. I’m glad you’re safe. And I’m glad you’re back.” Even if it was too late.
Albireo took a few more steps away and finally turned. “Don’t buy me anything else then. I’m your enemy now, remember? No good can come of this.”

“No…” He murmured quietly , turning away. “Good night Albiero, if you change your mind again, you’ll be able to find me. I shall be as much your enemy as I ever was.” - this said, rubbing at his arm, the mystery that didn’t get a question, or an answer. “But, I’m glad you’re alive.”
