Eilidh strapped her skates on, smiling brightly. She liked ice skating but she had never done an actual trick or anything with it. She easily stood up on the ice and glided forward, doing a two foot glide. The next thing she was supposed to do is dip.
The tealblood tried her best to dip, slipping on the ice and landing on her back. Ow. That was painful. Carefully she picked herself back up... Yeah, she was done for today. Her poor back... maybe she could get Xavvy to rub it.
Even as Kursha finished constructing his own fort—a smooth dome shape with eight balistraria to target enemies—he noticed an even taller fort taking shape beside his own. A purpleblood manned its ramparts, gloating over all those beneath him. Kursha narrowed his eyes, eyeing the structure. No one outdid him; no one even even dared. He would cut down the competition down to size, literally if he had to.
Hunkering down inside his fort, Kursha scraped together what he could of the remaining snow and swung at the purpleblood. His aim fell short however, and the snowball struck the side of the fort instead.
"Rats..." Glancing around for more snow to scavenge, he plotted an onslaught.
Nanogg's face crunched up in concentration as he attempted "Yureey's" ice skating challenge. He had zero experience with ice skating, but he almost wondered if he should... maybe... use this for his competition? If so, he had to get good. He had to get so good that he could crush his foes. The ice under his blades almost felt right, but he wasn't sure -- he kept going, even after he'd failed his sequence, still focused.
Nanogg had an idea. He had a lot of ideas. He wasn't sure how to actually go over and properly say hi to "Yureey" because he had to, like, introduce himself or someshit. Later, then. later
But he had an idea, and he made himself a small, narrow... almost angry looking... fort. It didn't look very stable, but it would do.

Cyn had some ******** weird snowballs, that was for sure, but since nanogg was feeling positively venomous towards those purplebloods, he didn't mind. He gave it a try and... missed.
Well, it was just practice, right?
"Hey, Yureey... right?" he gave Cynril an awkward smile, "I'm Nanogg, nice to meet you" there was that out of the way, "I was wondering if I could use ya snowfield here to show up some people. In a fair..." was there an emphasis on "fair?" Not even Nanogg truly knew, "Competition. What are you thinking, that a good idea or nah?"

"Wow, talk about fort building skills! We should build together sometime!"
Micillia
"Aha... I feel like I've seen you around? But I don't, um.. I don't think we've met before. I'm Yureey Ohnici, nice to meet, or re-meet you Static? I guess?" Cyn sweats.

"Hey Nanogg! Huh, you wanna use my snowfield? Uh.. Sure? I feel like some competition could be super fun!

4th Die -- This is where it gets harder... Do a two-foot turn from forward to backward in place!
Byakko took another mandatory glance up from her book, craning her neck over to check on Cynril. He was engaged in conversation, but seemed to be collected. Having a good time, even. Lucky him.
She was just about to return to her novel when she spotted a familiar, sicky green hue. Her skin crawled.
Kursha.
She hadn't actually seen his face since the betrayal. Akko had kept close tabs on him- and that little yellowblood that he'd fooled, (he sure had a type)- but hadn't done any of the reconnaissance herself. She didn't trust herself to.
The pages of her book creased as she dug her nails into the soft cover. Images of that Bloodfest so many sweeps ago flashed through her thinkpan- seeing Kursha talking to Regina at her booth. Confronting him about it. Believing his excuses, or at least finding them satisfactory enough, because she trusted him.
She'd been so foolish. A lesson once forgotten, but never again.
Rizzoh daintily stood up, shaking off her thick woolen skirt. She strolled over to the back of the booth, then began rearranging some of the cheaply produced prizes Cynril had lined up.
This was his cue.
First came the slingshots. Humming, Byakko tidied them up and organized them into five neat rows.
DANGER
Producing a small featherduster, she went to work on the snowball machines. She turned them to face 6 o'clock. All but one: which faced 5 o'clock.
GREENBLOOD: 11 O'CLOCK
Surely enough, from the main booth Kursha was building in that position. Finally, the skates. Byakko actually removed a pair and tucked them under the counter before neatening the rows.
ACT CASUAL: ALERT
Still humming, Rizzoh continued to neaten up the booth. If Cynril had been paying attention, as he should have been, he would have received her warning.
"Any ideas on how I can... best use this field?" Nanogg asked. "Wait, hold that thought, I'm going to try it."
Nanogg gave the skating another try -- not managing to complete the sequence completely... but he didn't feel so bad about it. After all, he had an idea.
"Yureey, what do ya think of some serious snow fortress sieges? I'm challenging two trolls, so two on two... got any ideas for a second?"
Nanogg wasn't hinting anything, honestly. He just wanted Cynril's opinion on who would play best on this field. If Cyn was offering, though... well, Nanogg would take the teen.
Nanogg begins a mysterious construction. Nanogg builds a fort! This fort is an average, average fort. It is very stable.
Nanogg decided to practice again with the snow, his mind ablaze with the need to master it. If he wanted to win, that was what he had to do. It was necessary.
The fort is stocked with 9 snowballs. The snowballs are red, but are also minty fresh (huh.) The snowballs missed their target. One of the snowballs is tiny.
Nanogg's practice was unsuccessful but he was learning. And he was getting better. If he needed to improve his form, surely his friend would help. Right?
Forced to venture outside his fort in search of snow to build ammuntion, Kursha could not help but notice a few weak points in his fortress. He packed a few clumps of snows into the sides, to give it some extra girth.
Kursha did not stray outside his fort for long. Out in the open, he was vulnerable to attack. Taking off his jacket, he laid it on the ground and scooped a pile of snow into it. He would have to stockpile... there had to be a wheelbarrow somewhere...
