Back Home We Go
Akamu helped her father finish up packing his shop back up into bags and back into the cart. She made sure to keep her bag on her, not wanting any of her shells to get broken much less the ones she got with Fui Fui. Her father looked over, noticing that she's more protective over her bag then she normally. "Something special in the bag?" He asked.
Akamu flinched and nodded her head a bit, "Yeah." She mumbled softly, continuing to pick up bits and pieces from the shop, putting them in the bags. Her father chuckled and went back to cleaning, not wanting to push her too much. Akamu took a deep breath and finished messily packing up her section. Her father groaned a bit at that but he didn't ask her to redo it, that would take too much time that they don't have at the moment if they were to get home on time. He knew that his wife was worrying about him and his daughter's well being.
Akamu's father finished up his area and the two started out towards the edge of the abyss. "Keep a close guard on your bag, Aka." Her dad said and started down the edge. Akamu made sure to close of her bag completely and stood on the edge, looking over into the inky blackness where the light couldn't touch.
"I'm glad we have lures." She said to herself before she stepped off the edge and slowly started to sink down after her father, gripping onto the strap of her bag. She looked around and noticed as they slowly went down more and more things became luminescent. Her eyes caught a few weird looking eels that looked like they had beaks and glowing mouths. Akamu slowly started to swim towards them.
"Akamu." Her father said, somewhat sternly but mostly worried she was gonna get hurt as she moved more away from the cart. Akamu flinched and sighed, swimming back to her dad and his cart. "Sorry dad." She said. He sighed and shook his head, going back to pulling the cart after him.
Her eyes glanced around the blackness as her eyes adjust to the dark, watching more and more things start to glow as they went down deeper. She blinked and her eyes crossed a bit, looking at her lure and she stared at a few small fish swimming around it, nipping at her. She grinned, they were cute and two small to do any damage to her. She moved slowly and her hand grabbed the small fish very quickly.
She swam over to her dad's cart, opening a small cage and stuffed the hand full of fish into it before closing it quickly. "What are you doing back their, Aka?" He asked her. "I just caught a few minni fish." She said, smiling. Akamu glanced into her bag and reached into it
After a couple hours Akamu and her dad arrived back in their hometown. Akamu held a few bags along with her shell bag, glancing back at her dad as if asking him if she can go ahead and get home before him. Her father sighed a bit and nodded, "Yeah, you can go. I've got it from here." He said, smiling a bit. Akamu grinned and swam off home, still holding the few bags.
Akamu slipped into the house and put the bags down, her shell bag more gently. She took and deep breath, relaxing at the thought that she's finally home. "Akamu!" Her mother said gleefully before swimming over and hug her daughter close, squishing her a bit. "M-mom... I can't.. Breath." Akamu choked out. Her mom's eyes widen and gently loosens her crushing hug on her. Akamu covered her mouth and coughs a bit.
"T-thanks mom." Akamu said and smiled up at her. Her mom gently let go and turned her towards the hall. Akamu noticed her sibling peaking around the corner. "They were worried about you." She whispered softly to her. Akamu looked at them and smiled, walking over to her younger sibling, kneeling down and pulling her two younger siblings into a big bear hug. They both squee and hung onto her, giggling. Akamu chuckles and snuggles them, "Awww, you're too adorable." The twins giggle and wiggle out from her hug and pull her up and pull her along to their. room.
"We made you a thing." The two said, happily as they pulled her into their room. The two let go of her hand and ran over to a box, pulling out a poorly build sculpture out of shells she had given them a while back. They ran over and held it up to her. Akamu's eyes sparkle, "This is amazing." She said and smiled, holding it gently. The two giggled and smile brightly, standing on their tip toes. "I'm gonna go and put this in my room." She said and patted them each on the head. The twins smiled and nuzzled her head as they got patted her.
Akamu smiled and chuckled, swimming off to her room. She gently put the state on her shelf in her room, sitting down on her bed, happy. "Akamu, can you come here?" Her father called from the form of the home. She sighed softly and stood up, grabbing her make shift spear. She then walked out and over to him. "I have a job for you to do, Two families ordered some Shallow water meat and I want you to deliver it." He handed her to slabs of meat.
Akamu glanced at the two things of meat. Her dad explained who had ordered the meats before helping her back up and get ready to leave.
