She couldn't help but roll her eyes at his cheesy comment. If he weren't in the hospital for an injury she would have smack him for being so cheeky.
"You're impossible," she told him, exasperated but very, very fond. "And ridiculous, obscenely so." But it was terribly clear how utterly in love she was with her boyfriend when she leaned over to peck his lips, his nose, then his forehead again.
It wasn't exactly comfortable, stretching on her tiptoes to be able to reach across the bed to do such things, but she was determined and she made it work. "Of course, dummy, why wouldn't I be here?" Rory tried to tease but her worry broke through the fragile cracks of her demeanor.
"I'll stay until they release you okay? Then, you can come with me and I'll take care of you." His or her place, it didn't matter, she was going to stay with him. "Get some sleep okay?"

Her teasing made his heart light, a small, happy moment amidst a world of turmoil that he'd been forced through over the last few hours. While he hadn't had the best of evenings (see: his current predicament), he'd not only gotten to be doted on by the most amazing girl in the world but he'd managed to wheedle a promise out of his very best friend as well.
So, overall, there were a few pros to go along with the cons of being attacked by some multi-eyed, multi-winged hellbird.
The kisses were sweet and soothing, his eyes closing as he nodded his head in agreement. Akio knew he was being an oversized baby about the whole ordeal - he really shouldn't have bothered her at such a late hour - but knowing she was here, that someone cared, was enough comfort to help his body relax and send him off to a small bout of rest while the nurses finished up their paperwork and assessments.
The journey home would prove tedious and painful after his discharge from the ER but having his Aurora by his side for every step of the way made everything so, so much better in the end.
