He just made it so obvious about what he didn't like. That needed to be worked on. For now it was amusing. "Do you ever get tired trying to cater to what people want with your honeyed words?" Still asked him after a moment, crossing her arms. She smiled softly but was also genuinely curious. "Also, it's very obvious, Alabaster, that you're not thrilled about what I'm requesting of you. You're not fooling me the pleasing words and the pearly whites." She laughed a bit. "I'm actually surprised. I thought a lawyer would have more of a poker face."

For once, the smile didn't slip.
"Not at all," said Alabaster, strangely pleased she'd managed to note this about him. Stillwaterite was kind of scary in a way, but at the same time, she'd seen possibilities in him and this was a very important thing. "This is what I do. I find the right words to say, and I use them when I can."
The pearly whites flickered for a moment, brief, the game up. "All right, well. You've caught me," he added, because really, there was no point in pretending now. "I can be a particularly effective liar when I want to be, just so you know," Alabaster added, a bit smugly, though how much of this was true was debatable. He grinned at her.
"But I mean, I do like your ladyship."
He wasn't going to admit that he didn't like what she was requesting of him, because somehow this felt wrong.

"I see." Still replied, a pale brow quirking. "But here's what you need to remember---I'm not one of your clients. You don't need to tell me the right words. I need to see the right results" She was entertained though, and it touched her tone. The corrupt laughed then, though, and grinned back. "An effective liar when you want to be, hm? You wouldn't happen to be lying about liking me them, would you?"

"Well, I do like results," said Alabaster truthfully. "Results are what get me places. I like them a great deal."
He glanced over at Stillwaterite, a grin - this time a genuine one - flashing across his face.
"Now why would I lie about that, your ladyship? I think you're pretty great."

" To save face." Still replied, but her grin remained. As much as the man was an eel---one who played every angle in an attempt to please, he was still an interesting one. One she looked forward to getting to know better and to...well. See what she could do with him. What she could possibly shape him into with guidance. Something of a pet project for the sake of curiosity as an eternal within the Negaverse. "Alright." She followed up, "Let's go over some basics and---"
